Hi,I am considering to update to RCv3 (currently using V2).I would like to know the following:- Is it possible to have RCv3 and RCv2 installed at the same time?- Is it possible to install RCv3 once, in a way that it can be used by FS98 *and* FS2002 (I have installed both on my system)?- I am running a Pentium II 450 Mhz, which was very good with FS98 and still ok with FS2002 (it works even with RCv2 and standard scenery). Can I expect RCv3 to work with this hardware or do I have to fear sound stuttering?Regards,Guido

Just installed RC 3.0.....first time user, just purchased it. Immediately installed 3.01 patch.Running Windows XP pro.Toshiba laptopNvidia GeForce 4 420I've tried several different sequences, but can not get this to work. I have developed a flight plan, I start FS2002, load the flight plan, start AdvDisp...latest version....., start RC, load flight plan.....everything seems okay....."Start" RC, go back to FS2002....get a message in the text window to press 1 for weather, 0 for main....FS2002 completely locks up.....except I can get to the alt-menus....but not controls work at all. When I put my cursor over the text window, I CAN NOT enter anything....seems to ignore inpu…

Hi JD & Co.I came up with a few enhancement ideas for RC, some of which I hope are implementable.1) Spontaneous directsAt least in Europe, to maintain an orderly, expeditious flow of traffic, ATC issues so-called spontaneous directs, which means that ATC gives clearance direct to a waypoint without pilot request. In RC, these could be random2) Change of assigned runway in approach sequenceThis means that Approach would change the pilot's landing runway in the midst of a radar-vectored approach. My uncle, who flies the MD-11 for Finnair, told me that a while ago, ATC had to change their landing runway 3 times (KJFK, rush hour) during the approach. Certainly not a normal…

I was listening to Denver International (KDEN), APC, DEP, and various Centers this morning and just about everything in RC was called. All within a 4 hour period. The 2 strangest bits were:1) A plane hit a flock of birds on takeoff (bird strike) and requested return to airport. When the controller asked how bad the strike was, the pilot responded, "There were feathers then lots of blood and guts. The window is a mess."He got priority....except...2) Everyone going into and out of Denver and Centennial (KAPA) were being redirected because of a pair of F-16's practicing AIRCAP (air loiter for enemy aircraft), and were zipping up and down from FL350 to the ground.Who says a…

I have just tried to complete a flight from Meigs (KCGX( via VOR's CGT, JOT, DPA and then to arrive at KORD.After departing KCGX I didn't get any HDG callouts and I only got the ALT callout I recieved just before taking off.The only way I can complete the legs is to look at AdvDisp to see the waypoints. Now I have had RC2.2 and I allways used to get HDG and ALT callouts for the legs of flight. What is wrong ?I have attached my flightplan (.pln) which I created with NAV 3.1CheersCWE :0)

I wanted to know what is the best way to set up the flight plan to get vestorts after takeoff.. for example departure tells me after takeoff turn heading "something" etc..If I rememn=mber correctly there was something about dependant on where your next point is something less or more then 30NM.. don't remember correctly.Maybe it is possible to get them to say "Clear for takeoff fly hdg 300 after TO CLMB and maintain 5000" for example something like that... not just "...fly Rwy hdg..."I do not use SIDS or STARS doesnot mean I won't if this was required to get these kinds of msgs.. but I don't think so I think if I rememmber correctly to use SIDS&STARS you just set the …

I've got a J airway going right where I wish to, but the high altitude long range VOR is only seventeen miles from take-off. There are no intersections in this first leg to the next VOR for over 130 nm.Since my first waypoint after takeoff is less than 30 nm, I get a fly as filed with no departure vectors. In reality, I suppose I would be vectored to get around congestion and merge with this airway at some point. There are no lower altitude airways underlying the J way.So, how do I create a plan that will get RC ATC departure to get me on this route? Do I just get vectored all the way to that VOR 130 nm away?I'm using the Minneapolis-Two departure out of KMSP heading west…

I saw something posted on this a while back, but I've searched for about 1 1/2 hrs and can't find it. Hoping someone will be patient enough to answer this again.I like the fact that RC3 can disable the Pilot portion, so like real ATC you speak back. I'd like to still acknowledge the transmission through a keystroke but without pilot voice. When I clear the checked options for 'play pilot wavs' and 'pilot autoreply', it appears that RC3 does not allow me to ack. Also, it often plays chatter immediately after the transmission where I would normally reply.Am I doing something wrong? Is there a workaround for this?thx.Kevin

  18. HelloI found a website that hosts several Paris CDG real ATC recordings. Most of them can be set into rc3winwoodfranceapp folder , but some of them are particularly good for LFPG approach frequence (because of worlds like those "roissy", "concorde" etc..).I'd like to set these last ones into LFPG approach chatter files subfolder, but LFPG only has "gd" and "cd" subfolders. Will this works if i create "app" subfolder ? I just have enough time to convert .ram files into .wav but none to fly and try them into RC3 , bad exams to pass...thanks :)

Hi all, Just finished a flight from TNCM to TDPD. TDPD requires an NDB approach. I used the new Eaglesoft Beechjet400 and Active Sky weather. RC winds and ATIS agreed 100%. The Beech400 is a joy to fly. Other than landing in the dark on an unlit rwy, the flight was perfect as far as RC should work. Sure got dark quick!! lolRob

I'm curious as to how well RC seems to integrate with the AI traffic, especially a lot of traffic like PAI or ultimate traffic. Does RC feel like an addon (eg you have your own personal controller) or does the built in AI cooperate well? When taking off, do you still get calls like you are #5 for takeoff? Similarly, are you ever not number one for landing? Thanks for any info.sg

I'm curious to know if it is normal procedure for ATC to issue intructions to a pilot to climb to "Flight level XX" (which RC3 does) vice using "XX Thousand" while below transition altitude.Regards,Nick Anzelino

  24. OK, JD and his new crossing restriction of "Descend to an Altitude in 30 miles or less" still gives me problems every once in a while and FSDO is starting to get on my nerves, LOL... I usually get no errors on a flight anymore but if I do, it's because I didn't calculate the descent rate properly. Over the years of simming I've just been pluging something in the FMC off-the-cuff, like -2100ft/min which obviously has become a bad habbit. What is the formula (using my hand-held calculator in flight) to properly figure out the proper rate of descent in ft/min, given a constant speed (in knots), and a limited amount of miles? Thanks for algebra lesson, I always did stink …
