I have had RC3 for about a month and had no problems.Since I downloaded the update I have not been able to complete a flight as FS keeps crashing.Has this happened to anyone else?I have gone back to the previous version to see if the problem arises and have made a successful flight so I can only assume that there could be a bug in the update.I had set the priority to high although I can't see this being a problem.Mad_Dog

This is not an RC problem I am sure but I was hoping some of you guys might have run into something similar lately. Been running FS since it came out and every version of RC. Since v3 came out I have been running FS2K2, DF737, Simflyers scenery, FSAssist (for pushback only other functions disabled), FSScene US&Can, and some added AI. Never had a problem until recently when random, infrequent reboots would occur in FS, usually on final approach. This seamed to coincide with my update of ADVDisplay but I did not realize it at the time as I am updating my drivers frequently as well. After upgrading to latest ADVDisplay, FSUIPC, adding FSMeteo and SF Toronto, my infrequen…

I downloaded version 3.01 last night and tried a short flight. I cleared all weather for the flight and while cruising at 17,000 feet at approx 220 knots, I received a call from ATC approximately every 4 minutes telling me that the altimeter was 29.91. On a previous flight, using FSMeteo, I received multiple calls (some minutes apart) telling me the current setting even though it had not changed from the previous value. My recollection, which is usually poor, is that in the previous version we only got altimeter info when it changed. Is this an update to better match reality?Tom

JD,I don't know where to contact you regarding this test, as I haven't heard from anybody on this...I have found a possible problem....While flying from the Los Angeles area to Vancouver, Canada, I came upon a situation whereas both Com 1 and Com 2 were airing the FSATC. I went from Com 1 then to Com 2, no change. I couldn't rid the radio of FSATC, in addition of RC.Is this normal?Paul

Hi,I know, it's not really a new topic, but I need some clarification. In various threads I read about the fact, that RC cannot control the FS2K2 AI traffic but it can recognize it. In the RC3 manual you can read, that you can use FS2K2 AI traffic and RC3 together (but intependent). But -- it happens regularly that when I'm on short final an AI aircraft take off from the oposite runway I'm cleared for and heads directly towards my aircraft.Neither FS2K2 ATC nor RC3 recognizes this situation, I get no warning from RC3. If the facts I mentioned above are true, such a situation should never occour in my opinion. Or am I wrong?Tom.

Hello!I have a question about how Radar Contact Ver 3.01 handles the altitude assignments when on radar vectors.I do 95% of my VFR and IFR flights in the mountain regions (Colorado, Montana, Idaho, ect.) using the built-in flight planner in MSFS 2002 to plan the route. When using RC3 for ATC on these flights, and when I am in the range of about 60-80 miles or so of the destination, RC3 consistently gives me instructions to descend from my cruise altitude to some lower altitude and places my aircraft on radar vectors in preparation for the approach. This is not a problem for the most part except that the altitude assignments are so low that I am only clearing some peaks by a…

John et al,Thanks for changing the altimeter reports in Canada. It really helps with the reality factor. Also, I have a small buglet. Last night I was flying from Ottawa (CYOW) to Orillia using low-altitude airways (MS planner). The second hand-off to center told me to contact Montreal center. When I responded, the pilot was contacting Toronto center. Everything went fine which is why I am calling it a buglet.-david-

I copied rc301 exe into rc overwriting rc3.exe.The opening screen show rc version 3.01,but I did not have to enter my transitions,it saved the old settings of 180.Also I didn't enter the new path for high priority and the voices sound fine.So do I really have vers 3.01?Thanks,Ron

Downloaded the new 3.1 and copied same into my RC3 directory. When I execute the program either via the desktop icon, programs list or directly in the Radar Contact directory I get the 3.0.1732 splash screen dated 12/22/02 and the RC start-up screen showing Version 3.01. I have cleaned my system of all traces of 3.01 ( did not go into registery ) but still get the same results. Is it my system or is what I am seeing correct.PS .... Is that "spamming" practice you are up to or did a blind mail list bite you in the butt ?JimBob

Here's a strange one. I flew two legs of COA1545 today. The first leg KCLE-KIAH went normally (except for the 125-140 kt headwinds :-eek ). I taxied to Gate C37 at KIAH and ended my RC session. I did not restart FS2k2 or ActiveSky. I entered KMFE into the ActiveSky destination block and it downloaded normally (I'm new to ActiveSky and really like it). I started RC again for my next leg. The flight went normally until I was told by McAllen approach to expect vectors for Runway Zero. I attempted to ask for another runway, thinking he meant r/w 36. There were no other choices! :-( So, I set myself up for a r/w 13 ILS approach. As I left 9,000 ft I was severly adm…

there are a number of things 3.01 improves onBUILD 1734 - fixes the altimeter calls every 10 miles as some of you have reported!1) air carriers are not called at little airports during synthetic chatter2) altimeter is not called every 30 seconds, because an external weather program is smoothing the transition3) support for active sky arrival weather4) THERE IS NO GROUND AWARENESS IN THIS BUILD5) fs98 wind direction, speed and visibility are now correct6) remembers the last transitio altitudes/FL's between sessions, even when using a new .pln file7) proper handling of atis frequencies for flitestar8) better processing of wav playing. 9) altimeter at all canadian airports, …

When using the Flex DP option, how can one handle DPs that end beyond the 30 mile limit from the departure airport ? For example when flying the CHATY2.HENER DP out of 7L from KLAX I was told that I was off course whilst still flying the DP towards HENER. I was more than 30 miles from KLAX. My first filed checkpoint was 76 miles from KLAX.Thanks,Pesi

    1. How are the two working together, I know there used to be some problems with the keys etc.. did they get worked out or these two progrmas still can't work together?I currently use RC and was thinking of buying FDC also just wanted to make sure the programs may work together.2. I know I can listen to FSATC when I open their window and tune my radio to the center via "Tune to Center press X button" or whatever like that you know what I mean, but I want to make sure I can still hear if RC was going to tell me something, can this be done, can I set my FSATC to work on COM2 while I use COM1 for RC? How can I do it?So far when I used the above option and RC was going to tell…

First off, I love the program, the support and the whole ball of wax (still trying to get the wax out of the HD) :-)But anyway, I was wondering why RC defaults to the ILS runway, then winds?? I would think that RC knows the WX, therefore (IF) the wx is below a certain level (THEN) ILS (ELSE) WIND RUNWAYYes, I know that I can request it but it is more a question on the line of thought with this.thanks

I have tried having Otto take over the controls of Yannick & co.s Falcon 50 but it doesn't work. The aircraft appears on the surface to use the default autopilot system, but I am not sure. Anyone had success handing the controls to Otto?
