JD I have been using your Radar Contact for the last 4 months, so now I can not fly with out it and it add's that realism that I have been looking for. I do however not fly the big airplanes and lately have been flying the Piper Cheyenne 400LS by FSD International. After landing it would be nice to get clearance by ground to "General Aviation Parking" or to the "Fuel Pumps". Now I now your an experienced air trafic controller so is it not common practice to get clearance to "General Avitaion Parking N-S-E-W" after landing? A possible solution would be to assign a gate number of 99 that would = General Aviation Parking. Thanks in advance for your response and a great p…

On the Flight Deck's RCV3 page (link below), you can DL the RCWavUpdates03.zip file.Adds the words/phrase "General Aviation Parking", "Cargo", and "The Ramp" to folders 0, 1, 0-je, 0-jj, 2-11, 91, and 93-98.Unzip into RCv30winwood. Make sure you have "Use Folder Names" checked.Only works in Radar Contact version 3.01 since the parking locations are not in earlier versions. If you have assigned other voice sets as you pilot and/or co-pilot you need to either reset them to the default (John Dekker as 1, pilot, and Ruthanne Rodriquez as 0, co-pilot), or remember to move files to the appropriate folders. To use these wavs, on the controller's page in RC, assign the follow as a…

Michael Turano has provided a pilot voice set for use with Radar Contact. He's been processed as a regular voice set for use as your pilot/co-pilot and as a chatter pilot for synth chatter.Go to the Flight Deck's RCv3 Supplementary page (link below), and pick his set(s) up. It's very mice. Thanks Mike!

This is an addendum to my post on setting up FSMeteo. I have auto connect and disconnect enabled, but when I click start I get a message like "unable to find server" or "server is out of service" then "use download world weather and stay offline option". What's wrong? Thanks.

I realize this is not a FSMeteo site, but I was hoping someone out there is familiar with it and can give me some help since I first heard of it through using RC. I just installed it and want to set it up but am quite confused. I am unfamiliar with the ins and outs of modems and dial up connections, and could not find a dial up networking icon in MY COMPUTER as the manual said. I don't want to mess anything up. I know I have an AOL account, and would like to have the latest weather updated while I am flying. Unfortunately it is hard for me to stay online for a 5 hour coast to coast flight so I would like to activate the autodial option. The instructions say to disable aut…

I have contacted John Dekker twice to obtain an upgrade URL since I have used RC V2.1 the last two years. But I did never get a reply. My e-mail is [email protected] I hope to get an answer this way because after having read about the realistic North Atlantic hand-over procedures I am eager to purchase V3.0Thanks for your help!

I rarely fly jets so generally cruise at 15k or below, always IFR, using Nav 3.0 for my flight plan with FS 2002. I already know that RC does not take terrain into account. As a result, I am frequently directed to descent to 4k in mountainous terrain. Requests for higher altitude are NEVER approved once the descent phase is started. I checked the NOTAMS box thinking that would solve the problem but no go :(. My flight plans include the "beginning of descent" location and is usually 25-30 miles from destination. I am still being directed to descend 60-70 miles from destination. I really like RC but too many of my flights end up forcing me to deviate from ATC directions. A…

I know this has probably been asked and I apologize if it was however I was wondering what kind of enhancements or what may Radar Contact be capable of with FS2004 especially since I have seen stated that an ATC SDK WILL be released for this version.

Hello Everyone, This is my final message in reference to apparent flaws in the RCv3 software package. Everyone of my previous notes has only served to anger those folks involved, in one way or the other, with Radar Contact. The first message was in reference to a repeatable ATC Center flaw in Radar Contact's Tutorial Flight #1 from KDSM to KORD when the ATC directs the CP to call Minneapolis Center on xxx.xx. The CP complies but it is Chicago Center which responds. I've complied with JD's request to send the coordinates when this problem occurred but my message with the coordinates was never acknowledged as received. The second issue I raised was, in genera…

Hi there,I have version 2.2 and reinstalled Windows a couple weeks back, so I need a new key for my Radar Contact. I sent an email to [email protected] asking for one, and included my pID - that was nearly a week ago. I've had to do this once before, almost a year ago or so, and I got my key in a day or two.Are you guys just really busy or is it not possible to get a key for 2.2 anymore(which would really suck :) )?Thanks for your help!epaga (John Goering)

Hi, I just finished a very successful RCv3 trip from KEWR, NJ to EDDF, Frankfurt and all went extremely well. Just one question. It seemed I had the same ATC controller, I think it was Monctoon but not sure of the spelling, from Newfoundland to the middle of England when I was switched over to London. I don't think this one controller has the range for this distance. I also always thought it was Gander Oceanic when leaving Newfoundland and then switched over to Shanwick around mid-Atlantic. Can anyone correct me or state where I may be wrong? Otherwise than that the trip was a resounding success. Thanks

Hi all,I am using RCv3.01 with FS2002 on Win98 First Edition. While flying, I tried to save the RC+FS state. The manual says I should maximize RC, then hit the save button. However, in most cases I was unable to maximize it. I used either Alt-Tab or Clicked the entry in the taskbar, but RC did not show up its screen, even if waiting some seconds although it reacted normal to keyboard input inside FS after going back.A few times I was able to bring the RC window to the front, but there was absolutely no reaction when hitting the save button (no filename dialog).Does anyone know why this doesn't work as it should?Only once, after finishing the flight, and immediately before l…

Hi,I was happily flying along to BWI when I was informed arrival was closed due to weather. I was given a vector and a waypoint. I proceeded to the waypoint, and since I did not get any additional instructions, I went into a holding pattern. And held, and held, and held. Now there was a thunderstorm at BWI, so after quite a while I cleared the weather there, thinking that was why I didn't receive clearence. And held, and held, and held. Finally I declared minimum fuel and was cleared direct to BWI. Soon I was told arrival was closed and to go back to my waypoint!!!! I figured I held at least 1.5 hours game time.I'm not sure if I did the right thing, or whether the…

I have just installed Active Sky WXRE 1.8 and FS Sky World but have not flown under RC 3.01 with them yet.My uncontrolled test flight started with a climibing left turn and I ran smack into some extreme vertical shear (fortunately at 8000 AGL). This made me think of the situation about how I can be allowed to use horizontal deviation under a controlled flight, especially while enroute and the storms are higher then my assigned altitude. Usually, when it is not efficient or possible to climb with a safe margin above the severe drafts, an aircraft would request course diversion to fly between the saddle-backs.I do not recall RC course deviations being available in the "quie…
