Hi!I'm having trouble saving flights while following the tutorials. The first time is OK: pause the sim, click on the RC tab on the bottom line, and the RC window appears. But it doesn't seem to want to do it again for subsequent attempts to save. I click on the RC tab, but nothing happens other than the FS top line dims, the FS display goes funny, and waiting a while doesn't help. Can anyone offer some suggestions please? Many thanks in anticipation.Don Hunt

i have a question, I recently downloaded and installed a series of high-altitude airports like the Courcheval Airport(altiports.zip) in the French Alps which are not part of the default FS2002 db. I recompiled Nav 3.1 which now reads the 4 small airports so I can create flight plans with it. Can I use such plan for RC flights? I haven't bothered using afcad to add the airports as I don't care about default ATc nor AI.

KMSP,Minneapolis-St Paul Intl,n44:52:49.965,w093:13:00.920,-3,839,11006I know the field definitions of the above except for the one with the "-3". It has to do with my reply to a post about hand adding airports.ICAO, airport name, lattitude, longitude,???, field elevation in feet, longest runway in feet.I searched the user guide but if it is there I missed it. I'd appreciate the info.

Hi Gang,I recently upgraded to version 3.01 and am really enjoying the program. I have a question about the altitude steps... ATC issues climbs to 12,000, 15,000, 230, 290, etc... (climb rate 1800 fpm). Most times I find the next step doesn't come until I've just about leveled off from the previous step. Is this normal? Or maybe it's how I'm setting up waypoints? (Anywhere from 30 to 100 miles) Maybe I just haven't noticed, but as a passenger on most of my RW flights I didn't sense the climb, level off, climb type of ascents. Thanks for your help.Jim

RC3-controllers often call an aircraft's registration number e.g. "D-ASDF" instead of "Lufthansa 23"I'm using PAI, how can I fix that issue? And another thing, yesterday when I was approaching LOWI, RC told me to switch to control tower's frequency, I pressed "1" for "Acknowledge & tune freq." but then there appeared "N/A" in the ADVDISP for a second that means it was unable to tune in the frequency.

Hello, What may be the reason for ATC to repeatedly give the Barometric Pressure when we are at FL330 in the cruise phase of flight. Of course the copilot responds by setting the altimeter. My TA's for Departure, Cruise and Arrival airports are set to 18000. Am I initially setting the Radar Contact TA incorrectly? Is 18000 the wrong value for US continental flights? Thanks

I am able to input options 1 and 2 using keys 3 and 4 instead, and they are the only keys that have any effect. Original flight before saving worked fine.I using Windows XP, FSUIPC 2975 and AdvDisp 2.02Can someone please help?Thank youLitow

Hi Last night i decided to fly a long haul from EGLL to KLAX. Most of the flight was good until i arrived at KLAX. I was vectored to land at 24L as that was the runway mentioned in the ATIS report. The first strange thing that happened was that the heading i was given took me way out over the pacific. After sometime i requested that i land at 7L and permission was given, followed all the instructions and landed ok. What i would like to know is why i was given a heading that after sometime took me no where near 24L,and then when i was on finals for 7L all other traffic was lining up to take off from 7L. Hope i have explained ok. Regards Shaun

This has been a recurring problem for me. I am flying a DF B737 with FMC programmed. I have been vectored by ATC after takeoff with no problems and am told to "resume own navigation." I am parallel to my magenta course shown in my map view. I begin to turn toward the magenta line to get on my route and ATC tells me I'm flying off course and the airway. I don't understand why or what to do. I thought resume own navigation meant I can engage LNAV and get on the exact airway. What is the correct procedure? Thanks. :-)

I am having problems with frequency changes with the copilot. When I get to the runway I turn communications over to the copilot. I get clearnce and take off. When I'm told to contact approach or depature nothing happens. Copilot does not change frequencies. Even if I try to change manually nothing happens. What should I do to fix this?

Hi JD,I'm having a problem with loading a saved flight with FS2002 and Windows XP Home.I have several saved flights that work with no problems, all saved as Otto-Me or Me-Otto. However, I saved my last one with Otto-Otto and no way can I get it to load. The load bar will move to approx. 50% then nothing, I've waited for ten minutes, but no joy. I can move my mouse around and call up task manager which showes RC running but I can not move or minimise RC. I eventually have to shut down after task manager showed Rc as not responding. I've reloaded the flight then saved again using Otto-Me and Me-Otto all works well! I'm wondering if my cpu/ram (1.1GB Athlon, with 768MB RAM…

Using NAV 3.1 for flight planning, some waypoints were missing particularly for the high altitude charts. For those using NAV 3.1, here's the procedure I used.First back up with renaming the extension of the precompiled .c files. Then back up the copy of World.wpt using another extension name on the copy. This is the waypoint file.In the RC folder, open with a text editor your latest fixes.txt file as obtained from the navdata AIRAC site. Select and place all the waypoint text lines into the clipboard. Close the file. (Make a copy first just so in case you inadvertently change something you will have a secure version.)In the NAV folder, open World.wpt in your text editor.…

Hi, I just finished a very unusual flight from KSLC--KCVG. The flight was a very normal flight until the final approach to KCVG RW9 just short of touching down. The copilot turned the aircraft over just after the Clear-to-Land directive from ATC. I had full manual control of the 767-300 at 146 Kts and was just about ready to touch down. In fact the GPWS called out 50-feet, 40-feet and then the tower ordered a Go-Around. I found it impossible to get enough speed with immediate full throttke action and the aircraft touched down. A TOGA would do no good on complete manual control. It seems to me that ATC should never have given the Go-Around command once the aircraft is…

Trying to get RC3.01 running for the first time and I can't seem to get any atc voices. The advdisp window works, I select the freq on comm1 and choose 1 to get weather or 2 for ground. advdisp show standby, but nothing out of the speakers. Have tried comm1 and comm2. I do hear voices when I select the FS ATC and tune to weather or ground. What silly thing have I missed? Thanks for your help.

How can I (or can I?) program RC to use the correct altitudes on Jepp. SID/STAR's from Departure to Arrival?FS Navigator can be programmed for the GPS as you know with fixed altitude transitions at eash Nav. point, but I was just wonderin'.On approach, RC just throws descending altitudes at you until you hit the ground. It works, but.....Any answers?Capt. Dad:-spacecraft

Hi All,Solved my flight plan not loading but am confused about setting the command line for realtime using windows XP. I know it's in the archives but if I don't see how it's laid out I'll definitely mess something up. "C:Program Filesrcv30rcv3.exe" is what I have on a reinstall w/ 3.01 added.I thank you for helping a senior with limited computor wisdom.Nick

I bought Radar Contact about three months ago - buried the disk on my desk - wife tidied up and the disk disappeared. Today it reappeared and I loaded the program.I searched the FAQ's and this forum and found references to slow speech and after loading the 3.01 update changd the comman line setting in the short cut. Works for RealTime and Low but the program tries to phone home to MS when using the High setting. Are there any suggsetions as to how I might overcome this problem and is there an advantage over Realtime in using the High setting (obviously Realtime has significant advantages at the moment)

i'm able to ask for a specific iap approach, before the first vector. there is usually 90 seconds there after you are told to expect x until the first vector.also keep in mind, that sids/dp and stars are not typically specified in the flight plan, but given to you by clearance delivery (sids/dps anyway)we can't handle, or accomodate every star there is. we can make it realistic. in the real world, the star ends when you contact approach. it's approaches job to get you on the ground. that is why we added the iap feature, to allow people to finish the flight with a specific iap approach. it isn't a star at that point.altitude requirements are not implemented in any sid/dp o…

Hello, Now that the initial shock of using RC3 is over I would just like to say that none of my flights are without Radar Contact ATC. Took me a while but I now think this program is a gem. I do have a question: On Stefan's website he has an AIRAC cycle for RC3 entitled RC3_all_0304.exe. I am not aware that there is any NavData in RC3 as it is not a flight planner. Can anyone clue me in? The AIRAC data is available at: http://www.navdata.at/Thanks

Hi,Recently I had to reinstall FS2002 and add ons and ever since, if I use FsFlightmax (1.4), Radar Contact (3.01) and Flight Deck Companion (1.3), a strange thing happens: at the beginning the hotkey that makes Fmax appear/disappear works correctly. After some time (maybe after lift-off?) it does not work any longer and I have to use the FS2002 menu to cycle Fmax on and off.The same thing happens with the FDC checklist hotkey: at the beginning it works, then no more after some time.My version of FSUIPC is 2.97, while Advdisplay 2.01 or 2.02 both give the same results.I use 767 PIC, I don't know if the problem occurs with other airplanes as well.Thank you for your help,Ja…
