Is the RCv4 ground controller merely a dummy controller who does not interact with AI traffic?I am just asking, because last night an AI plane sidesweeped me, which was very frustrating after more than half hour of flight prep. If so, this would be a MAJOR feature on my wish list, along with taxi instructions. Otherwise ground would be totally unless IMHO.At least MSATC would tell me to hold to avoid any collisions.Cheers,Pat

I can't seem to get Otto to take control of the plane. He handles COMS ok and acknowledges he has control but then just doesn't seem to control the planes heading. I don't use him until after departure. This occurs with Flight1's ATR. I have the A/P on HDG Hold, EFIS on V/L, and do not use the FMC. Any help would be appreciated...I haven't tried it with other planes but will...Thanks

Have any Chicago area pre orders / non pre ordered CD's arrived yet? Just curious bc I have not gotten it yet and people in Canada and Europe have. Even some people that did not pre order have gotten RC4. Thanks!Brad

JD,I have not yet install RC4. Just going over the doc. I see that the installation automatically install FSUIPC. I already have a registered version of FSUIPC and the latest update. Will the RC4 installation realize that it doesn't need to install FSUIPC or must I do something after installation ?Roger

I have not incorporated a DP into my flight plan as of yet. However, on the last two flights I noticed RC gave me a heading to fly after I take off. I plan on using FS Build and realize you can plan for SID and STAR in the flight plan but how do you know which one to use when you do not know the current weather/active runway. Also, the manual states that RC allows 30 miles when you takeoff if you want to fly a SID to transition to enroute phase. The last flight where I received a hdg to fly then was told to resume normal navigation ... is that random? If I wanted to fly a SID at that point I would have been unable to. Maybe I am not understanding the flight procedur…

Hi,Does anyone know how I can remove this annoying adventure (or whatever) window?http://www.scandinavian-va.net/upload/adv.gifI run RC4 on another computer (widefs) and both AdvDisp (FS2004) and ShowText (WideFS) run fine. However this annoying screen keeps popping up, also with unreadable characters. I don't have a clue where it comes from.It isn't the default FS2004 adv window, is it?Your help is much appreciated!

After I have installed v4, is it feasible to delete v3. Just wondering if v4 was a stand alone product. No big deal anyway, the RC3 folder is only about 600 odd mb.Regards

Overall I'm happy with RC4, but the one thing that nagged at me with RC3 seems no better with RC4. That one thing is the incorrect accents for controllers. Having the controller tell me that the "alti-meeeter" is 29.92 just puts a bit of a damper on realism, as does British accents at US fields. I know you can manually uncheck the "offending" voices, and that's what I've done, but then flights between countries never quite have the right feel. I'm wondering if you've ever given thought to using geographically appropriate voices automatically, based on where the flight is located? Is that technically feasible? That way, when you're flying in US airspace, controll…

I'm sure some of this--if not all, has been addressed in previous posts, but I went 3 pages back and didn't see any reference to them like I was looking for.My box is a Dell PowerEdge 400SC upgraded to P4/3ghz; 2 gb dual-channel DDR (2 1gb sticks push-pull); ATI Radeon 9550 (256mb). RC3xx ran great on this box. RC4 is very slow, comparitively. Yes; I uninstalled RC3. After installing RC4, I defragged the HD, installed the latest FSUIPC 3.51 and AdvDisp; defragged again. Set the "switch" to "realtime" as it was in RC3xx. I not only disabled Norton AV, but removed its boot reference in the registry, which, I've found, I must now do every time I run FS2004 with the new…

Just finished my first flight with RC4. I've been using RC3 for over a year now, so it was mostly familiar ground, but some of the new features were a pleasant change of pace. I don't think the new voices are nearly as bad as some folks are making them out to be. Some sounded pretty damned good actually. I'm reminded of my first few flights with RC3 when I felt the interface was cumbersome and the ATC voices sounded "artificial". In fact, Radar Contact made a very bad first impression on me. After a few more flights I wasn't even thinking about how the voices sounded, only the information they were conveying was of any importance. I dunno, maybe I have a different …

I'm thinking about getting rc4. I was wondering how it was about sending you to the gate after landing. I know the atc in fs9 sends you to the first gate that fits your plane, but does rc4 send you to the gates for your airline, ie aa will be sent to an aa gate, ua will be sent to an ua gate. I know the airline codes in the aircraft.cfg files are for ai only for ms atc. Does rc4 use them to assign gates. I use AFCAD 2 and all of the major airports I fly into all have afcads with airline gate assignments.

All,I'm loving RC4, but I have a "real world" question. I have RTFM but I'm not sure if I find my case covered so please forgive me if I've missed it.I understand when you have your first waypoint is w/i 30nm of your dep airport, RC will assume you're flying your DP and leaves you pretty much alone. Well, the DP I'm using (and I've seen others similar) just has a bunch of VORs and a few intersections but no real course to follow. Kinda like the STARs that get you close to the airport with a final VOR, but don't put you on it.So, my question is, how do I properly fly this type of DP. Since there is no actual course to fly, do I just fly direct to my first waypoint, or woul…

Hello!First let me start off by saying how impressed I am with RC4 so far. Well Done! Now to my question...Hopefully this will make sense...When using ATC services I like to turn off the pilot responses from the computer so I can respond using my own voice through my headset microphone. (I know it's not speech recognition, but it makes it more real for me to respond to the controller than a virtual pilot). When using the default MSFS ATC there is a brief delay after I respond to ATC and before they acknowledge my transmision. This is with the reply from the pilot's turned of in the ATC menu in MSFS.However, when disabling to pilot wav and auto-reply in RC4 (just like in ver…

Hello Fellows,Just a quick question about deviating to Alternate or holding pattern for wheather. Is the program feeding this information off the wheather engine such as ASV or the default MS? Or it's a "fake" instructions like "hold for traffic" in V1 for FS2000? If the answer is the latter will there be an upgrade or will you incorporate this in later versions? Thnx

Hi,I just received my copy of RC V4 today. Installation went smoothly however when I tried to run the exe file nothing happened. I remember that Ultimate Traffic from Flight 1 had similar problems when it first came out. The only way that I can get the Version 4 exe file to run is to change the regional and unicode settings to US English. Obviously a number of users are going to have the same problem when they receive their discs so any advice on a better long term solution i.e. not having to change regional settings would be appreciated.Todd
