Most of the Airports in Austria have no Ground-Controller but Tower is handling Taxi etc.How can I disable Ground. If I uncheck it in "Controller info" also Tower gets unchecked.When I fly an approach (e.g. to LOWK) arriving from e.g. Rijeka via VOR DOL - VOR KFT I get handed over to Approach (126.82) allready when passing VOR DOL which is far to far away from the point where you normally get handed over. This point in real life is BERTA which is the border between Slovenia and Austria.The approach-controller then vectors me to intercept the ILS in 7000 feet while normally (in real life) he would vector me to the VOR KFT in 4000 feet.Can I somehow change the behaviour of …

I had to interrupt a flight in a hurry this morning, so terminated FS9 with ctrl-C. When I returned to my computer over an hour later, RC4 was still running and asking my flight to watch its assigned altitude, etc. The voice was very, very slow, saying each word with a few second pause.Just thought you'd like to know about this.

G'day,Firstly let me start by saying what a great addition to FS radar contact is, keep up the good work guys.I do have a question regarding operations to uncontrolled airports though. I realise in the US that the floor of class E airspace is much lower, and therefore IFR flights will recieve clearences for approaches into most airports. But in australia, Class E exists from either 8500 or 12500 and up. Once an IFR aircraft is at TOD, they simply get "cleared to leave controlled airspace on decent", and passing either 9000 or 13000, get told "contol services terminated, contact center on ***.**, the class G area frequency. Aircraft therefore never get cleared for approac…

Just to confirm that the problem encountered on takeoff roll with RC4 and FDC3 has been fixed in the Flight Deck Companion update to v3.1The two programs are now fully compatible. To get the key assignments working correctly it is recommended that you load RC before loading FDC. They make an excellent combination (provided you avoid shared hot keys!).Thanks to Dave March for sorting this issue so quickly.All the best,John

So I flew a couple of flights in USA, and noticed the different terminology etc. I climbed to altitude provided and with ATC command, turned to my course, and proceded on course. Everything went AOK from there on.So I wanted to fly around the world, experience the different terminology etc... Boston to Heathrow is fine, then I try heathrow to milan, italy.I take off and ATC keeps telling me to climb to the next altitude. Never anything about turning or procedding on course. I was up to my cruise before ATC told me I was off course and to turn around (which I knew, but didnt want to get the ATC mad). Rest of the flight was ok.Milan to Ghandi International... no idea wh…

Hi,Some approaches, like ENE4 approach of KJFK, won't take you to the FAF and you will expect ATC vectors you at some point. Base of my understanding (sorry I can't actually test it because of the problem I posted earlier), when you request a IAP approach, the ATC of RC4 will not give you any vectors as you should know how to get to the FAF (which is actually not in these type of approaches). So here is the question, how can I fly those approaches, which need ATC vectors, properly? Thanks

Just tried another flight and had a good improvement with views by keeping Advdisp undocked, and the voices much better by reducing the acceleration in DX.Two strange things: leaving Denver, RC had all the traffic taking off and landing on north bound runways with the wind at 190@10 kts. Second, I was ordered to taxi into position and hold, just as I did, an ERJ swooped over the top and landed ahead of me on the runway.How does RC handle multiple runways and does it get overwhelmed at large airports?? I found that the AIRAC that comes with RC4 is pretty outdated (Aug/2004). While I always update the AIRAC of my planes and flight planning software to the newest version, I think it's also necessary to keep my RC4's updated so I'll not get busted because of database discrepancy.As www.navdata.at is still updating the AIRAC for RCv3, I found they're using the same format (except RCv3 uses txt file while RCv4 uses cvs file, but it's pretty easy to convert txt file to cvs file). So right now, I want to confirm, if it's ok for me to do the update, by converting RCv3 txt files to RCv4 csv files? Thanks!

I wanted to a quick flt ftom klga to kpvd and when I asked for clr I was told to proceed to the "airport" instead of kpvd.Is this the case when the RC database does not recognize the airport codes ??I did not complete the flt because I was concerned the flt would never be instructed to follow the flt plan I filed, if RC did not know what or where KPVD is ...ThanksAndy

Doug and Rick will be visiting me on December 21st. I took my first flight with Radar COntact today from CYYC to CYEG - a short hop to test things out.The feel of the program is great.I actually like the adventure display - I have it docked in 2D view out of the way, and I fly mainly in VC. This adds to the realism as I don't see the menu all the time, and the keys are intuitive - just the odd ocassion I needed to flip back to tee the adventure display. Now I need to listen to ATC.Without the text (as in default ATC) - the emersion is much more real. I like the controllers and phrasology - very realistic to me.The flight involved Radar Contact, Active Sky 6, FS Passengers, Ukltimate Terrain Canada and Alaska and FS Global.…

I just started playing with and learning RC4 (new user), and have a couple of questions.1) When I docked the Adv Text window, it works as described, but now when I go to change views it takes approx. 3-4 seconds for the view change and the same when going back. If I undock the window, the view change is pretty close to before usung RC -- any suggestions?2) When I started exploring my first flight, I was hearing both RC ATIS and FS9 ATIS at the same time. When I switched to ground and got my taxi clearance, I was sitting there playing & learning, but was again hearing RC controllers & AI, and FS9 controllers & AI. Again any ideas??Rick

Not many posts regarding FSHotSFX and RD4 compatability yet ,has anyone found a work around yet, I really dont want to uninstall FSHotSFX if I can avoid it. I have been given several " Descend at Pilot's descretion" instructions, but there is no fix or waypoint attached to the command , like "descend at PD to 11,000 at XXX VOR or XXXXX waypoint. When do I have to reach 11,000 feet, when no waypoint is given?

First let me say how happy I am with this truly marvelous product. This is my initial sortie into Radar Contact land and am really enjoying it.That being said I seem to be having a problem with near side ILS approaches. As an example my most recent flight was from KEWR to KBOS. Approaching from the southwest I was vectored to Rwy 4R and turned to an initial heading of 305 which put me at approx right angles to the 4R centerline. I was then put on an intercept course of 005 degrees. When stable on this course I hit the APP button on the AP and immediately was turned away from the centerline and headed for the deck. I asked this on the main forum but figured I would head over to this forum and ask.I see you need a program capable of exporting a flightplan. Here is my problem, I usually get realworld flightplans off of FBOweb and just program the FMC of the particular aircraft I am flying and use that. Will I have a problem with RC 4. I dont see how I wont have a problem but I figure I would ask someone that has the program.ThanksAndrew

My text in the green box has been displayed incorrectly.For example, instead of it looking like this:1 Weather2 Clearance3 Ground....It is displayed like:1 weat her 2clearancegr3ound....I thought it was because of the text I have with ASV, but I disabled that. Hi Guys,Loving the new RC4,I am currently using it on a wideFS set up with Adv Disp ruinning...When I load my FP and go to the controller options page, if I try to change any option for the controller I get a Runtime 75 crash.When I get home I will post the exact details of the crash.Any ideas?Sorry the Wide FS computer is running XP home SP2.Dennis Di Franco

hi guys,was flying around with RC yesterday and i noticed two things...1) i was flying from EGKK to LEMD. since there are no sound files for Brest control which lies inbetween the two airports basically it got quiet along the way, but it made me notice that the sound files for the appropriate sector change regardless of you changing frequency. for example, i had just been told to change to Madrid Control, and after the reply (i had not pressed the #1 key to change frequencies) i already heard the Madrid chatter files playing. just a little edge off the realism.2) i was waiting to depart at LEMD and an AI aircraft was not taking off from the active. it must be an AFCAD iss…

Hi JD,right now I got RC4! Well, I feel ambivalent... my "Deutsche Post AG" who delivers here all major mail, had damaged the little box. A transparent tape with a text on it is wrapped around that it got damaged... It appears that the content of the box is still in there... YES the CD is still undamaged wraped in the plastic cover!This is like xmess today! I would be interested to hear if anyone is successfully using RC4 with ActiveSky wxRE under either FS2002 or FS2004. ActiveSky wxRE is not among the programs listed on RC's website as being compatible with RC4, but this may be because it was considered too old a program to test with RC4.ThanksMartin

I am wondering what RC4 is looking at for the course you are flying.I have been getting busted for not following my course. For exampletoday, I was flying from KFLL to KMDW using ASVE. The average windand heading were 258/89 at FL360. My heading was always within 2 to 3degrees of the heading shown in Advdsp. But yet I was getting bustedfor being off course. I used the shift Z key and found that RC4 wasreading the track instead of my heading, now how do I go about getting around that? I was flying the PMDG737 and using the FMC. Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
