Very Happy to report RC4 arrived today 21 Dec in Perth WA - Ordered on 11 Dec. Sent off for registration a couple of hours ago.Can't wait till I get the key - probably be tomorrow now.Oh well, it will make getting home from work all the more exciting.Ian:)

Hello,I'm running RC4 on a WideFS PC. I did everything as described in the manual. Placed the Makerwys.exe in the main fs9 folder and it made the r4.cvs, but am unable to rebuild the scenery database in RC4. I do get the question is this a WideFS configuration and a run Makerwys reminder, but after that I do get a run time error 52 or a can't find fs9 message. Now I placed the r4.cvs manual in the RC4 data folder, but still unable to rebuild the database. What to do? The network path in my case is : Computer1F1Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9. Is this the correct way?Sheers Bas

HelloOn my first flight using RC4 KSFO to KEWR my crusing alt was 35000.Flying a PMDG 737-800 using the FMC. My star was FQM1 into EWR. At Vor SLT STAR chart says FL should be 18000. As I got within SLT still no word to descent to FL 18000 from ATC. I've flown the same route in real life 2 months ago. Same type aircraft and I believe very close to the same route into EWR. The anything I had to go by was the map on the display on the monitor in front of my. We started our descent over eastern Ohio at 1200 fpm. I seldom use MSFS for ATC because it would wait till 60 to 80 miles from the airport to start your descent. The FMC top of descent seems to close to the airport whic…

As expected, all going extremely well with RC4 - well done to the whole team. I've come across one niggle rather than a problem and suspect its probably something I've missed; tended not to do it in RC3 but have done so in 4 and thats select 'Flight Critique' at the end of my last 4 or 5 flights to be told how the flight was judged to have gone. However, at the end of each advisory, when the AdvDsp (v2.1.3.3) box goes 'blank', RC has crashed to the desktop taking FS with it (though FS does come back without a hitch). I just purchased Radio Contact and at first thought it was absolutely amazing. The chatter the add-on adds makes flying feel very real. The pilots report chop at different altitudes and general questions about frequencies while on the ground. Most of the chatter even seems based on location or what you are doing instead of just random radio chatter.However, being that is primarily an ATC program I have a few issues to report and am curious if anyone else is seeing them or if they can be resolved in a bug.First, I use MyTraffic2004 which always has a line ready for me at any runway for departure. If you miss the reverse thrust sounds from FSHotFX, since it isn't compatible with RC4, go to the file download section of Avsim. com, and under FS 2004 / sounds, search for aisound_1.01.zip. Install that and your sounds are back for AI

Country to country? For example,When flying in the U.S. are the controler voices going to be american? Then when i fly in the U.K. are they going to sound British? ect....I bought it anyway because i think it will be a great addition, but the video i saw and listened to was a flight in america and everybody sounded British?Thank's and looking forward to the delivery!Ed

I have ordered v4 have downloaded manual. As a WideFS user I note I will have to run Makerwys.exe located in FS9 folder to build database. However no such file in my FS9 folder. Should it be there already or does it come with v4?Martin Plain

I have flown 2 flights so far and this was btw a upgrade from RC3,flight 1 was from KLAX to KSFO VTU5 RZS J501 BSR BSR2.I was given atc heading as I was approaching RZS as atc said I was not on my assigned route of flight.I had the route programmed into the fmc as I was using Level-D 767.The heading given was 150 degrees from my route of flight.My 2ed flight was yesterday and was flying from KLAX to KDEN LOOP4 DAG J146 HBU POWDR5,I was on a heading of 052 on path to DAG was told to fly heading of 152 degrees as I was off my assigned route.I am on my route and the program keeps jumping on me for doing what I am suppose to be doing.I am setting everything up per the manual …

Ok I have asked this but maybe I can get a little deeper in this post.I am very interested in RC4. I use real world flightplans for my flights from FBOweb but flying RC4 without a defaullt plan I guess doesnt work. I want to ask anybody using the above mentioned aircraft what they are doing to get the most from RC4.This is an example of a typical plan I would enter in the FMC of the Level D 767. Hi all,I am using RC4 version 4.0.3675 and every time I click "check for updates" I get a debug message saying it will create a large file. I click ok and then it prompts me where to store the log file. It then tells me my version is out of date but doesn't download the new one.I am not pressing the debug button to the right of update - any ideas what I am doing wrong?ThanksSimon

Hi All,I will be a new RC v4 user (waiting for CD to come). When CD comes do I have to uninstall EditVoicePack as not needed any more ? If it stays can bring about any conflicts within FS Voice Pack ?Sotiris.

Is anyone using this combo? I am having trouble with the AdvDisp in RC4 with the 737PIC. When I am using AdvDisp, it locks all of my panels. For example, I cannot click on FMC, overhead ect. It is pretty strange. When I disable AdvDisp, the panels pop up. Any suggestions? Thanks!Brad

After some flights with the new RCV4 (I never owned RC3), I'm very impressed with the forward leap in realism this program brought to my simming experience.While the overall impression is absolutely excellent (in my opinion it is really worth every single cent of its price), I would like to point out some very small things that could be improved in future updates:1-the "we'll give them a call" phrase is really shocking (this has been broght up in other threads): surely a "will call Tower (Approach,Departure,Ground,Center,Control)" would be more realistic.2-the ability to tell controller "approaching FLxxx (or xxx altitude)" just to let him know that we would prefer not to…

Been reading the thread about the voices and have seen the demo, but the people who own it don't seem to be complaining. I personally have no real issue with the default ATC. The voices sound great, but I have used EVP to speed them up since Lars released this wonderful feature. Watching a demo video of another product though not using the accelerated voice pack the other day had me in tears though. :-lol They sounded like they were on Quaaludes.Anyhow, I really like the idea of having some latitude with respect to how I fly my plan, not the way MS sees fit when I'm IFR. Okay, I'm dense.I have searched and read some of the posts concerning using AI Smooth with RC4. But, I am still confused.From what I read about the RC4 release, I got the impression that RC4 was handling AI. If that is the case, why would you want to run AI Smooth and use up resources?I know, I know? It is obvious. But can someone point out the obvious to me?Thanks,Wilson

When I open up the Adventure display module, it pushes up the window with the actual view of the aircrafts panel and the ADV window displays beneath it.Any ideas on how I can get the ADV window to display on top?Ben Briscoe

I did my first flight from a what is supposed to be a non-controlled airport, but I was very surprised when RC came up with a tower, Approach/Dep, etc. (KIJD, which doesn't even have a FSS). I saw in the manual that RC gets its information from FS about the airport's facilities, but FS ATC has the airport configured properly when it runs. I know I can edit everything on the Controller page but I use this airport a lot. Is there a better way around this? Thanks. Mike

A bit mystified. My flight plan EGJJ to EGBJ: via ORTAC, SAM (VOR), PEPIS, INLAK, MALBY. Plane: PMDG 1900D, Crz FL120.All went well at EGLL, ORTAC and SAM; heard the dings, flew towards PEPIS, which showed on the AdvDisp. Distance to go reduced gradually to zero, overflew PEPIS, but no ding, no reset of the AdvDisp. Turned round and crossed the waypoint again, zero miles, but still PEPIS not acknowledged. So had to fly on, and got shouted at for being off-course. I terminated IFR and flew without ATC to EGBJ.Question: Why didn't PEPIS get acknowledged, when it showed up OK on the AdvDisp? Is there something I should have done but didn't?Don Hunt

In my attempt to fly a flight last night (ADV Display affecting my fps -- another post), I departed from Metcalf Airport (KTDZ) in Toledo, Ohio. This is an uncontrolled a/p. But RC told me to contact ground, tower, etc. I just looked up the a/p data with AFCAD, and my a/p files have it as uncontrolled.....no tower or ground.....has Unicom, approach, departure, clearance, but no tower!Rick

Am I correct in stating that the STAR must be built into the flight plan BEFORE starting RC. I have tried to add the STAR on a longhaul flight once the weather/runway were correct, but got into trouble with straying off my filed flight plan :-( The STAR started >60nm away from the airport so I had not received the IAP option.If the arrival runway changes during the flight is there a way to amend the RC flightplan en route?CheersRoger
