Not quite sure what to make of this. This is my first experience with the product and occurred immediately after starting a new RC4 flight plan. I apologize if this issue has already surfaced. I downloaded the additional pilot/controller wav sets a few weeks ago after seeing the notification of them being available. I now see that the sticky lists fewer than originally listed. Below are two sets no longer listed. Is there a reason and should I remove them if I have them installed?john dekker as a controllerSanford Seidler Pilot Set I also noticed that each of the destination folders (..winwoodxx) had a text file (55 V4.txt) that referenced "Controller name: Dean Barry". Is there a way to disable the display of the next waypoint in AdvDisp? I have been flying some older (like the F1 MD80)aircraft and am trying to navigate without those new fancy FMS's ;-) It's too tempting to just look at the AdvDisp to see how I'm doing. It's like having another GPS unit installed. Hopefully if I'm sim-IFR rated, I can navigate correctly to the next waypoint. If not, RC lets me know!! Mike

During a flight I was asked to contact a controler on a given frequency, but for some reason RC4 would not accept the pressing of the button I assigned to "1" nor would it accept the keyboard number 1, it would accept any other number but not 1! I alt and tabbed out and checked that the keyboard was working, no problem, back into FS, not working still, meanwhile the controller is having a hissy fit coz I'm still on frequency, but I can't do a #### thing about it!I have to cancel IFR, at which RC4 shuts down.Any Ideas?Is it possible to start RC4 once you are airborne or does it always have to have you on the ground at an airport?

I've heard Fly Star called out to planes, and can see the file in the Winwood directories, but can't find the airline name in the drop down box (it should be Astraeus).I can remeber a post about something like this before. Is this one of the minor omissions?Thanks for any info.-Phil

Hello Ray - It's been a while.I use ASV6 also and in another post you mentioned to be sure to load the weather before running RC4.Given the order in which flight plans must be created and submitted to ASV6, do you mean the ASV6 weather has to be refreshed before running RC4 or just the flightplan loaded and processed?Really enjoying RC4 - reminds me of when I was able to do some real flying - also reminds me how rusty I am . On a flight from KAGS to KSTL, I was asked to Contact Atlanta Center 8 times in 186 miles. Each time it's Contact Atlanta Center and I'll be given a different frequency. Each time I contact the center and all is well for another 12 to 20 miles and then I receive the Contact Atlanta Center and given another frequency.On the same flight after being handed over to Memphis Center this happened twice in a short period of time. Only in Memphis Center air space for a short time. It happened once in Indianapolis Center air space but again was only in that air space for a short period of time before being handed over to Kansas City Center. Had to quit at this point and saved…

Wishes to get RC4 much closer to the real european especially german ATC.First of all Thank you very much for his wonderful AddOnWe have tested your RC4 and here is our list of wishes:1. Do not use the word "AIRPORT" in clearance.So it's "cleared to Frankfurt as filed". Not "cleared to the Frankfurt Airport as filed". A more authentic clearance procedure would have the controller first ask "callsign, ready to copy ?" and the pilot respond with "ground, go ahead".2.. The instruction "line up and wait" should be readback with "lining up and wait". Not with "roger" ! 3. Descent instructions are occasionally incorrectly readback. E.g. Strange - I could have sworn I posted this request earlier but it's gorn :-(Anyway, I want to create some new airfield files but unfortunately the script folders don't tell me what's in some of the wav files unless I open each text file. Hello all...I received my copy of RC4 today, but found the cd to be damaged, with a scratch in it. i tried to install anyway, but there were errors during install, stating that it couldn't read the CD.I sent an email already, but I am curious, and can't wait to get an answer. Perhaps some of you guys can shed some light here. What is JDT LLC policy for these situations? Do they send a replacement CD?Thanks

Hi folks,I've just started using Radar Contact 4, so it's probably me missing something here...I carried out my first flight with no problems at all. Very impressed with the program.However, I'm now trying a 2nd flight and am having a problem, in that when I get clearance, I'm told "Maintain feet", with no actual altitude being given. As soon as I climb above, say 2,000 feet, I'm told off by ATC and that I should descend and maintain "feet", again with no altitude given.What am I doing wrong?My pressure it correctly set.Thanks,Mark Avey

I am still considering whether to buy RC4. So far I like what I read about it.Here is a question:Does RC4 include the possibility to fly RNAV Transitions to the final approach fix? As an example Frankfurt, Munich and Cologne have these kind of transitions as an alternate way to get to final.These transitions can be cleared with a published profile or ATC will give altitude and speed assignments or even clear you to a waypoint that leads to a shortened transition.Does RC4 simulate this?Karsten

I use FS Navigator to make my flightplans and have made several from VHHH/Hong Kong, my recent flights have all been from runway 07R which is the normal takeoff runway. But when I ask ground for permission to taxi, RC ALWAYS wants me to taxi to 07L which is the normal landing runway and against all the AI traffic taxing to 07R. Althouth this is easy to rectify by asking for 07R it seems a bit strange as FS ATC allways sent me to 07R, have I done something wrong or is this normal for RC in that I have to request the runway in the flightplan.regards Brian Butcher

Hi All,I'm a pilot with Noble Air Virtual based at Gatwick. Runways 8L/26R are only used at Gatwick while 8R/26L is being repaired etc. The rest of the time it is used as a parallel taxiway. RC4/FS9 recognises 8L/26R as a potential active runway and ground may direct my aircraft there for T/O. I appreciate I can request 8L if this happens, but is there a way to stop it in the first place?Thanks again for all your help.Roger

I am getting a long delay after being told to taxi to runway and contacting tower. Sometimes up to 10 minutes. Also, if my transition level is 18000 in the UK (is this correct?) and my QNH is 1013 - 29.92, what should they be changed to when my co pilot tells me to check altimeter settings?Cheers

Sir,I generate my flightplans with FSNav and export them to FS2004 for RC4. All is well until I leave the last waypoint to cross the Atlantic. RC then sets me a course away from the original flightplan. This means I have to turn off the LNav on my autopilot and manually set the course into the autopilot. The alternative is to accept the wrathh of the ATC :-(Is this something to do with FSNav not generating great circles in the flightplan? If so is there a work around?Thanks for a really great program. It is really nice to hear some ATC while flying in multiplayer mode.Roger

Does "cancel IFR" means "cancel RC"? I canceled IFR in the middle of a short x-country trip and RC shut down all together.Thanks.Jason

I was flying KSEAKSFO at FL350 using Radar Contact 4, Ultimate Traffic, FSUIPC 3.53, AdvDisp 4.14 and FSGenesis scenery. The copilot had the comm. We were in a normal descent mode, approaching FL140 about 50 miles north of KSFO. Both times, immediately after the copilot asked to leave frequency for weather, I had a CTD (black screen with AdvDisp box showing). The module identified in the error report was atc.dll. Radar Contact 4 continued to run.This is a first for me on any aircraft.I have all the files listed in the PMDG forum CTD information, and downloaded and reinstalled the PMDG universal update today (1/7/2006).Any suggestions? I`m being told to taxi to a runway and hold short. Then I hear nothing further: In older versions of RC all I did was set the parking brake on and off and the problem was solved. I`d be grateful if anyone can advise, please.
