Hello all - first time on the forum and have a quick question. I have unchecked all my option boxes on the ATIS page for FS9 but still get voice over from fs9 that sometimes drowns out the RC4 instructions and chatter. I thought that FS9 ATIS could be disabled ? Any suggestions?Jay L.

I really need some help. I just received RCV4, and I installed it according to your instructions. When I try to run the program to get the key the following happens. A windows installer box pops up and says "Preparing to Install". After a moment, I get a box that says " The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable". The box goes on requesting that I direct it to the folder containing the PatchPackage.msp file. I have run a search of my computer, and there is no such file. When I looked up the file on the internet, the description I get is that it has something to do with patching a program. I had this problem with version 3 also. …

Was departing KLIT - cleared to runway 4L - only way to 4L is to cross 4L - as I was taxiing to the crossing point, I was able to see an AI jet in position. I slowed and kept approaching - the AI aircraft began takeoff roll. I waited for ATC to tell me to hold at the crossing but no instructions came - I held anyway as there would have been a collision had I ventured onto the runway. After the AI a/c passed, I continued taxi and heard nothing from RC4 until I was getting closer to the hold point. No big deal, it's always the PIC responsibility to be aware of surroundings but just wondered if RC4 keeps track of this sort of thing.BTW, haven't had as much fun flying the sim…

:)Yes.. it happened.I was flying from KPSP (Palm Springs) to KSAN (San Diego).Flew the DP and STAR (combined Route) I have the flight plan (that was created using the FSBuild).ATC cleared me to 12000 for the most part.It basically left me alone to fly my route for the most part..but when I was about 30 nm from KSAN, it started asking me to descend ...around 25nm It started to vector me and asked me to descend to 8000, before I could even acknowledge that.. it asked me to descend to 4000. At this point I was 25 nm EAST of San Diego. there are mountains there...Since I was using Active Sky (real world weather), it was clear weather... so I could see the mountains staring…

I've been following the forum posts now since early December while hoping that my RC4 CD would arrive and I could join the fraternity. Alas, thirty three days have now passed since the my order was processed and still nothing good in the mail!! I'm in eastern Australia, only 400k's north of Sydney, so you'd think it would be here by now...ah well I'll just keep checking the mail and hoping... But I do enjoy reading the forum posts..am learning a lot from them which, hopefully, will be put to good use in the future:-hmmm

I was doing a flight from KMFR to KBFI with RC4. My first course was north 340 deg. After a while I was told that I was of course and was directed to turn back south 170 deg. After that I was given new vectors making a circle back to my course. And at each of these vectors I was told the first time I was given them that it was not the first time I was of course.

Hi folks,i have ordered v.4 and while waiting (btw, how long will it take to get CD) i ask:1) having used v.3 for long time, will procedures be the same in v.4? in other words, will i be able to use right away new version w/o re-studying tons of docs?2) i have done my own pilot voice set (italian accent) in v.3.there's a lot of work waiting me for upgrading my set to v.4?thanks for answeringLuigi ;-)

I loaded a flight plan into FS9 and RC4, and set everyting up as per the quick start (page 21 in the .pdf). When settimg to Adv Display I sized the window, docked it and finally selected "multi-line only", resulting in the Module/ADV Display pulldown having the check mark.I got clearance to taxi and noted that although I heard an increase in engine noise, that I wasn't moving in the cockpit view- followed a second later by crashing sounds- I was moving but my screen has a frozen image while in cockpit (forward) view, and while the Modules/ADV Display pulldown is checked. If I uncheck it, ADV display doesn't look so good (green bar with large red lettering), but I do see…

I fly Great Lakes Aviation a lot and this airline has wav files in controllers and pilots but it is not listed under Plane Data/Airline or Company Name. I read other posts that it might be listed differently so I went through the entire list one by one and I did not come across Great Lakes Aviation. Yet the GLA wav files are in all the controller and pilot folders. Was this perhaps an oversight? Or do I need new contacts? I checked old posts and some mentioned to edit the aircraft.dat file. Maybe that was in V3. In my V4 I do not see a file named aircraft.dat in the rcv4 folder. It seems this Great Lakes Aviation matter only needs to be added to the known list of airlines…

Dear support I buy this product and tested really shortly, but I think the delay on the answer from the atc ATC is too long sometime after hit the keys you get 6-7 second and more before to get answer is this normal? another thing is it normal to always see zero knot wind next to the waypoint.Apart that is really something to discover as I am not expert.I was wondering is it possible instead of using the ADVmodule to use the same FS style message , the colored one with transparency one for atc number and one for answer or maybe a window to use on a other monitor.Thank youSimbio

Recently approaching KPDX 28L from the north, I requested short final as soon as I was told I would get vectors to the runway. Flying Airbus 320. I was given vectors to one mile from the runway to intercept the ILS. No way I could do it.Greg

This is the second flight where the wx per ASV 6 is overcast at the destination, but ATIS reports sky clear. Got the winds and runway and altimeter correct.I am not using online wx updates, so the wx at the destination remained the same the entire flight.Greg

When I try to load an FS2004 flight plan I get this message:Run time error 713.Class not registered.And it says I have to install this file: MSSTDFMT.DLL.I did it, I have installed it in windows/system.After I tryed again but still I get the same error message.What can I do?Thank youPaolo

Hello, I wonder why RC(4) offers ILS approaches to runways if there are no ILS facilities and frequencies available (in FS9 and/or in real life). Last night I tried an IFR flight from YPKS (Parkes) to YSDU (Dubbo). Both have VORs, but YSDU has no ILS. When approaching, I chose 'IAP' and then 'ILS', and was offered the choice between all four runways. As specified in the RC4 manual on page 201, "If there is an ILS or LOC approach available, the frequency will also be displayed". OK, so here were no frequencies, but I could still select Rwy 11 and the controller 'pretended' that I should intercept the localizer ... :-eekPlease advise why RC4 offers non-existing facilities. …

I've 'created' 10 further UK airports for RC4. Brad Hall created a very nice AFCAD2 for KIAH. This AFCAD2 is for the default Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport.Gates are at their approximate locations. Airlines are shown in the correct terminals as possible. Added new Runway 26R/8L and changed 26/8 to 26L/8R. ILS is active for the new runway.Since this AFCAD2 adds new runway will RCV4 recognize the new runway for AI traffic and add it to the database? How can I make that work?Thanks,Jerel

Thanks for your promptness in shipping the RC4 CD. I installed it the other day but I'm having some problems using it. Through reading the various posts on the forum I discovered that I needed to change the read only attribute on the files where my flights are stored. I was running autosave, and I installed the latest version (1.501) before I installed RC4. Autosave was causing lockups and the runtime error, so I removed the dll from my modules folder. I also have a registed version of FSUIPC 3.53. I have been trying to change the attributes on the Flight Simulator folder in My Documents. I always wind up with a green square in the read only check box even if I tel…

Hi there,i'm a v.3 customer.I'd like to upgrade to v.4 but i'm also planning to do a whole new installation onto another partition.Now my question is: are the two versions available identical? Hello All,I wanted to post a thankyou to the developers of RC4.I my CD arrived after just 6 days... not bad to Peru! I was a little intimidated by the manuals, but after just a few flights I've really got the hang of it, and love the immersion, especially with all the chatter! A controller claimed that I was off course from the airway today. Of course I'm watching my ND and my airplane looked peachy and fine. He wanted me to turn 10 degrees left away from the magenta route that I see. By the 3rd request he was getting pretty steamy so I complied to shut him up. I turn 10 degrees left and flew for about a min and turn back direct on course. He seems happy now.What gives?FS pln and FMC route made from FSbuild, they should be the same. Right? NAVDATA differences?

Hi all!Yesterday i was on my descend to LIRF when i got the RC4 ATIS information from LIRF which said: wind 060/06 but the active rwy would be 34L/R.
