On two different occasions Radar Contact has vectors me to intercept the localizer at an unusually high altitude. At SPIM runway 15 the altitude to intercept the localizer was 8,000 with the IAF at 4,000. Next I tried UAAA's runway 5. RC4 left me at 12,000 with the intercept final at 4,800.I guess the MSA is the culprit? At the above altitude no way do I capture the localizer. What to do?

Can anyone come up with a reason why rc and the fmc and fnavigator all disagree on my heading to the next intersection?rc wants about 20 degrees right of where both the fmc ( pdmg) and fsnavigator want. It lists the same intersection in the window ( 70 degress) and the fmc and in fsnavaigator ( 49 degrees), however rc clearly wants me to go ofcourse? ( iI used fsnavigator to export the plan to both fsn and pdmg)Mike

I'm having a small problem with RC4 that happens rarely, but the scenario that triggers it appears to be consistent. I have RC4 setup so that I manually acknowledge each ATC command, but on rare occasions I find my pilot voice auto-responding to commands. What I've noticed lately is that this only happens if another voice instruction is queued up behind an ATC instruction. The last 3 times it's happened it has been the "altimeter check" announcement. I believe I have also had this happen when commands were queued for an AI aircraft as well. The flow is:-ATC instruction (ie, climb and maintain 24000)-Pilot voice (ack command automatically without my input)-Altimeter…

I just installed RC4 and I love it but I am not sure of the correct proceedure. For example. Made a flight (Twice today ) from Lihue, Hawaii (PHLI) to Kahuli, Hawaii (PHOG). I used FS Build and RC4. The ATC had me departing on R35 and I remained on this heading for 46 miles, even thought the 1st way point was only about 5 miles SOUTH of the departing airport. Then approaching PHOG, at a distance of about 5 miles The ATC still had me at about 4,000 feet The airport is at sea level. Everybody lost their lunch on that approach. So the question is, with the 1st way point SO close to the departure runway, should I have made a turn (about 150 degrees) and picked up the 1st way …

I am fifth in line for takeoff and the tower tells me position and hold. I know that is not right. I think it is more like forth for departure and when you get to the line either position and hold or cleared for takeoff. No one in front of me taking off and the tower is telling me to position and hold. I know that is wrong too. Would the term not be cleared for takeoff. When reaching the line. Why does ground turn you over to tower when you still taxing to the runway and still a ways off. When I was flying when I got close to the departure line than I would change over to tower frequency.Missing callsign...NavyPilatusMeridianLifeguardAlso, maybe a fifth and sixth cat…

Hi team,With interest I am following the developement of RC4.Currently I am using a simpler ATC program with icw speech recognition ( not VoxATC ) , but I know that when I will be able to control RC4 by speech I will make the step.My current ATC program is controlled by speech through Game Commander as this gives me an allmost 100% respond .Using Ms speech recognition on the other had gives me only a 60% respond. I have read that there are RC users who where going to help with this.Any progress on that ?Best regards,

Flew to South Africa today - more specific Johannesburg. Though the "southafrica" folder contains chatterfiles named the right way and the libraries - like e.g. winwood155 contains a $southafrica.txt file it doesn't play any of these chatterfiles.Made one for the rest of africa as well like i've made for Europe and other places - here with a $africa.txt file. It doesn't work either.Since i can make it for other parts of the world, why doesn't it work in Africa? The south african one is one you created..What can stop it from working?

Hi All (again),I realise this topic has been raised, and not surprisingly. It seems a shame that it's not been possible (or worthwhile..?) to get a more fluent speech pattern. There are significant pauses between words; and the cadence is all wrong - the way a word goes up, or down, at the end. The numbers, especially, do not flow together as they should in normal speech. The cadence is different if a word is part of a string - try saying '320' (three_two_zero) and the 3 and 2 sound quite different from individually-spoken 3, or 2.I've had a little success using a sound editor, removing redundant parts of some of the .wav files; it doesn't help the cadence but there's n…

Loving RCv4...flying with it almost exclusively now.I have a question, though: Whenever an aircraft is not assigned a callsign by the AI flight plan, ATC addresses it by calling it "November One Two Three Four" or whatever the N-number is. Is there a way for RCv4 to address these aircraft the way they would be in real life, such as "Cessna One Two Three Four"?Regards,Kurt "Yoda" Kalbfleisch

First off I love ATC in the flightsim environment and for me RC4 improves on the default ATC by miles. I enjoy multiplayer flying with light aircraft around fantastic looking scenery (Misty Fjords) and enjoy flying on VATSIM. I know during multiplayer sessions the default ATC is disabled but I just found out I can fly multiplayer session and have RC4 working. I am not sure if this is documented. Now I have done this several times and I did have 1 crash where RC4 closed. You may ask why I want ATC in multiplayer, well that leads me to some new software called FSNet. (www.gates.to) this allows 1 aircraft, 1 cockpit with 2 pilots sharing it, in a multiplayer session. I have …

Hi , I've installed the RCv4 not more than 2 days ago , and I've notice that I can hear the FS2004 ATC on the same frequency and at the same time as I hear the RCv4 ATC. I've try to find anything about this problem on the manual and here at the forum , but no sucess. It looks to me that some aircraft are been controled by the FS2004 ATC and others by the RCv4 ATC. For an example , I was on the tower frequency on KMIA , and the departure aircrafts were talking to the RCv4 , no problems so far , but the aircrafts that were landing were talking to the KMIA tower on the same frequency but controlled by the FS ATC. I'm maybe doing something wrong I don't know , please help :)…

Hi All,Firstly, yes, this is a great product - and I look forward to any improvements and patches that may come along (thinly-veiled hint that it's not perrrrfect, yet....)A question: when I push back, using the Shift-P, I then press 1 or 2 to turn a right-angle; but now with RC4 I can't do that; it will only allow a number key as an entry for RC4, so I can't turn the aircraft during pushback. Any ideas how I can achieve this?Brian

I had this same problem in rc3.On some planes when I minimize view and then start RC I go back to a black screen and FS is locked up.When this happens I start all over and then switch to the Cessna or another plane before minimizing and starting RC.Then when everything is OK I switch back to the AC of choice.Has anyone else reported this problem? It's common when using add on planes or panels. Thanks,Ron

Hi - here i am again. In folder 368, until recently, i had only .wav files in the ATCO subfolder - which contains some soundfiles like the chatterfiles with e.g. Gander Oceanic.Since they were the only ones, i have copied some chatterfiles into the other subfolders in 368 and now i only get the chatterfiles from ATC3 when i'm flying above FL300. Do i have to remove the files from the ATC3 folder or is there any other way?CheersLarsP.S. - does anyone know of any african chatterfiles? - not South African, but from any other part of Africa? And perhaps Middle East ditto?
