I am not clear on what to do with the new voicepacks that become available. Should they all just overide the existing winwood folders or should the existing ones be deleted and replaced. If they should just overide how can I recover and reinstall the deleted ones (I have the update 4.01)? I foolishly did not back them up before deleting!

HI,Can someone please tell me if the new 4.01 version is better regarding the voices?I tried the demo of the original version and didnt like the robotic sound of the ATC. Has the update fixed this?ThanksDrayton

I have checked the RC web site and I cannot see if RC works with Wide FS. Does RC work with Wide FS? If it does is there a tutorial on setting it upThanksAndrew

Hi team,Is there a demo video available to show interested people what RC4 looks and sounds like ?Imho people would like to see it in action before makeing the decision to buy it.The new 4.01 version is better than the 4.0 demo's I saw at several sites as I have read it.Btw I found a logical structure in the RC4 menu layout ( following the tutorials ) so using a speech recognition program should be possible. If I decide to buy it I will this work.

I have read there are problems with RC4 speech on motherboards with integrated sound. I have an SBLive card in the same machine, but do not want to disable the integrated sound or use the SBLive as the primary sound for FS9. Is it possible to have RC4 use an alternate sound card than FS9 uses?I want the SBLive card to handle the ATC voice (from RC or VOXATC) over a aviation headset and keep the ambient flight noise on the external speakers. This would more closely match the experience of real flight.-Freeman

I bought RC4 a few days ago and my CD arrived this evening. I just installed it, read the quick start guide, and was off to the races (after downloading and installing 4.01 without any problems). I use the PMDG747-400.1. I am having a heck of a hard time figuring out when ATC is talking to me - the voice is not crisp and/or clear. Even when i feel that i am being addressed, i have a hard time understanding what is being said. Is there any way i can make the voice sharper - like the default FS ATC?2. Since i fly the 747, i usually only fly long hauls. Normally when using FS ATC, once i get to cruise altitude and i am sent to the next controller, i change frequencies…

Is there a way to permanently change the default frequencies that RC4 uses when you load up a flightplan and click on the controller page. I know you can do it manually but i'm lazy and sometimes forget. I fly out of manchester (egcc) a lot and RC4 has the ground frequency as 125.35 when it should be 121.85 and the tower as 119.4 when it should be 118.625 (Runway 24L uses 119.4 but as FS9 can't use dual runways properly aircraft always take off from 24R).ThanksDaniel

First let me say that the 4.01 upgrade is excellent, a significant improvement, and a welcome one. Hey JD. Did the Union get ahold of you or something? These darn co-pilots you hired don't do a darn thing! He flies the easy enroute stuff, and then about 50 miles out, when things get dicey, he gives it back to me. If that's not bad enough, I'm in a valley, at night,in the clouds, shooting an approach to minimums, and he won't even handle the comm for me. Lazy no good jackass. Hi all. just wanted to give my experiences with 4.01. The install was pretty smooth after getting the download. I just waited until everyone went to bed...then I started the download and went to bed! The only "concern" was that it asked me to request a key. I basically decided to ignore it and everything seems to work fine. Also...It reinstalled FSUIPC, and afterward, I had to re-calibrate my joystick.I just completed a short flight from Honolulu to Molokai, with the FSD Cheyenne 400LS. Hi,I have recently upgraded to 4.01 and am impressed by the updated voices. They do sound better and more fluid and I like the ability to individually tune the pitch. I found just a couple a bit too fast and have brought them down a notch and they sound near perfect. Well done JD and the team in bringing us an even better product!One thing I have noticed with 4.01 is that when I am approaching an airport I get vectored by the cenre controller before I am handed to the Approach Controller and I appear to be handed to Approach a lot closer to the airport than in Ver 4.0. Just an onservation regarding the tutorials they seem to be set up for the default FS9 737 when I would have thought anyone who purchasedsuch a complex addon as RC4 would, like me, never fly default aircraft (I have deleted most default aircraft from my system as they kept turning up as AI.) The only 737 on my system is the PMDG version. I guess I can still do the tutorials but after a quick read over them there will be some additional hoops to go through that I will need to figure out for myself. Are there any additional gotchas I should be aware of if I try the tutorials with the PMDG 737?Bruceb

Just got it and upgraded to 4.1When should RC be started? Say before you start the flight or wait till you start it and sitting in the plane?Right now when I start, the dialog box is already open and I cannot see any commands or use my keyboard. I have to lft or right click the mouse to close it. Then reopen it from the top modules. Eventually I get something to choose from and my keyboard works. I see no real method it either works or does not.Also, sometimes the delay from when I respond to a command is so long, sometimes 30 seconds or longer, the controller barks at me.If I repeat the request, say 7 to make sure it went through, later I will get my response over and ov…
