...please an alternative to ADVDisplay?I have been using RC4 for a few days now, and am very happy with it, but ADVDisp is really the bad point to it.Not only does it cause a drop in FPS when visible, I can't even use the solution to hide it when not needed, because every time I call it up or hide it, the sim pauses for a second (kind of like when calling up a (right-click) menu).And well, it does not look that extremely well...How about a solution

Hello,In most of the pages in AdvanceDisplay, an option "Say Again" is available. Nevertheless, during some phases (e.g. at the start of a holding), this option is apparently disabled. If you didn't understand the controller, is there no way that his request be repeated? Can the option "Say Again" not always be made available?Thanks,Juul Tango,Hasselt, Belgium.

Hi,On a recent flight, when my copilot contacted the tower upon landing, she included "with kilo" into the sentence. In other flights "with whisky" or some similar phrases has been included, e.g. when calling for clearence.What does that mean?/ Jesper

Hello Simheadsi dont know if this has already been discussed, but anyway :-)....I have suffered from FPS drop when ADV Display (ADVD) was shown on my screen, so i tryed to find a solution:Just dock it to some window that not have to be seen all the time.For me, most times i dock it to the FMC, so if i need to see the text i just have to open the fmc (example shift-5).This way the drop does not take place all the time.RegardsDaniel

Dear Rick, I've just received my copy of RC4. When I click on the setup.exe I get a message saying the install files are corrupt, please obtain a new copy. Blimey! That's taken the excitement out of my purchase. Just for info, the cd case was slightly damaged, a crack front and rear but the cd looks unmarked. Please advise on a solution. Hi I've just completed my first RC flight from Gatwick EGKK 08R to Manchester EGCC 06R. All went very well until approach. Given vectors for 06R but 06R showed a heading of 236 degrees and I was vectored onto final for 24L. 06R frequency shown correctly at 111.55. Using UK2000 airports and scenery db rebuild completed. Is this info stored in a file I can modify as that would seem the simplest solution at this stage.Still, an interesting landing!!!Mike Lally

After discussing this in another post in this form (#17222, "ATC jumping the gun") I was wondering if there is a quick and easy way to make a complete set of pilot wavs that have no volume (completely silent)?This way radar contact will just play a silent wav file that you can't hear when the pilot responds, allowing you to still acknowledge' atc transmissions without RC4.01 jumping the gun.I was able to do this prior to the most recent update just using and empty folder with no wav files in it. But it doesn't work anymore after the update.RC4 responds imediately after the ATC instruction and doesn't allow use the the keyboard to respond. I want to try to get the response…

Ok, so, I finally made my first RC4 flight last night almost 3 months after buying it!Some things I noticed that could be tweaked maybe with a future release;When an AI aircraft asks for clearance to start engines they ask almost immediately for taxi clearance (about 3 seconds later)...this is not realistic, it would be more common for the crew to request taxi clearance only after engines are started and the after start checklist is complete. So maybe the taxi clearance request can be delayed for about 30 seconds-1 min?Also I noticed that when contacting the tower on approach that they merely acknowledged my contact by saying my callsign/flight number...I believe it is st…

I just took a short flight to practice some landings with real weather which is very gusty here in the NE. I was instructed to fly heading 055, which I did, but kept getting yelled at to "fly heading 055".Why do I keep getting yelled at, even though I'm perfectly holding on indicated course 055? Is wind drift the issue? Does the controller really mean that I need to track 055 and hold a more northerly course to compensate for the NW winds?

Hi guys, my PC is taking it in the chin framerates wise and i wonder whether anyone out there has any ideas of what i can do about it.Yes Yes i run RC4.01 with Activesky 6.0 with my FS2004. My system is pretty solid with 3.0 mhz and 1 GB of RAM 80 GB Hard Drive. Yet my FS experience has gone from a constant 30 fps with all sliders maxed out to flunctuating between 5 fps to 15 fps when i am running Activesky and RC4.01.Anyone have any idea what i can do to bring up my framerates (other than buying a new pc).Anthony

Help,Having a problem with Key code activation. I have already sent a Key request e-mail and recieved an e-mail back with the key. When I run RC4, I get the registration screen as expected. I then copied and pasted the key into the white bix to the right of "key".I then click the "Click here" box below the key. Nothing happens for about 5 seconds, then RC just exits. As far as I can tell, there is no hard disc activity.When I start RC again,I get the registration page, with an Key box empty.I have double checked my original registration email. quite often i will get a call from atc saying that i am off the airway, it seems i get this even if my flpn is not exactly planned on an airway and even at times if vectored. what are the tolerances? Does rc4 assume that all ifr flighplans will be always flown on the airway, why am i getting in trouble via atc if im not exactly on the airway even if not planned that way. I tried it via direct ( gps) and i still got an earfulLastly what does the term mean " fly a heading until suitable" , does this mean until I decide im back on course or am i waiting for further instruction from atc before changing course. A number of times I've been told by ATC that I'm off course and I'm instructed to turn aprox. 180 degrees. I use FSNav to create my flightplans and checking the moving map and the ND I'm right on my flightpath. Hello,I had to try something for someone of your team but I loose his email address. I post it here anyway, I had to make a test to see if emergency sqwak code was working when you declare an emergency and it is not working at all.As you should know When you declare an emergency you have to put 7700 on your transponder. To all,Be aware of something - your FMCs won't necessarily get you out of Dept's airspace. I learned this the hard way the other day, glad I did. Not a big deal, but I notice that if I dock the ADVdisplay, I get quite a hesitation when changing views like looking right or left or switching to VC. If I leave it open as a window or lock it there is no delay. Haven't really noticed a hit on the fps though. Anybody else experience this?Jim

I stopped using FSautostart and the hesitation stopped. I do not know if the hesitation is caused by FSautostart or something stopped. I do not have the time to experiment with it. If some could do that and post what is causing it.

Am I correct that I do not have to uninstall v4.0 prior to installing v4.01? Meaning that the new .exe will overwrite the old one?Thanks- Bruce.
