Hey guys,I know this is a support forum, and I know you've received many accolades about RC. I just want to add one more, because I think it is important to recognize folks when they have a passion for something and do an excellent job. The latest version IMHO is fantastic. Sorry if I am being redundant and this is already known, but today when I acknowledged CD, I got an immediate "Readback Correct" reply, followed by about a 5 second pause, after which my actual readback followed. This behavior started with 4.01 which I recently installed.J

Hi,I have just received RC4 and am setting it up for WIdefs use on a second PC. After installation on the WIdefs PC, there is a Modules directory with ADVDISPLAY and FSUIPC inside it.Now my question is, do I need to copy the ADVDISPLAY.DLL to my main FS PC manually or does this occur when I recieve my key and have activated the program?Or does this stay on the Widefs PC, and I use that for showing the display?ThanksDrayton

Hi JD,I did a turn around flight in the F1ATR today, first leg KATL-KVLD and return to KATL. On the first flight flying at 17000 to KVDL had no problems but on the way back to KATL atFL180 I kept getting bustedfor altitude deviations. My altimeter was fine but I was gettingbarometer changes like crazy. During the flight I had 9 differentsettings in 227nm. I finally requested descent to 16000 to get ATCoff my back. At 18000 the changes were 3024,3028,3030 going back andforth. What happened?

RC continues to surprise. Did a flight yesterday where I had to contact FSS for clearance. The dial tone and numbers being dialed was a great detail. I was doing the flight with the Aeroworx King Air, so got my clearance, did my preflight checklist and headed out to the runway only to be yelled at that "20 minutes was more than generous to get going, etc..." So I had to pull over and restart to get my clearance. It was fun, but isn't 30 minutes the more norm for getting off the ground? With planes such as the King Air it does take a bit of time to get things going? Also noted a strange thing at my arrival airport KTEB. The wind was blowing hard out of the north …

Is it mandatory to have the same flight plan created in FSBuid or FSCommander etc, be activated in the flight planner menu of FS2004? Or is the RCv4 flight plan sufficient? Then I suppose by listening into the RCv4 heading info and adjusting the headings accordingly the plan can be also flown right? Or has this Plan got to be in the default FS2004 active plan???Would this cause CTDs ???

Is it possible that someone out there might have a solution for the annoying habit that FS9 has of reminding that the altimiter is not set correctly. I believe FS9 is set to 180 transition wherever you fly, this of course causesproblems where the transition altitude is different. Is there a way of altering this in FS 9 by any chance..

Hi all,Had a great first flight with RC last night, BA551 from EGLL-LIRF, in the LDS763, no troubles and a completely uneventful flight. I even got a perfect flight critique from JD at the gate. 'This RC4 is no big hurdle' I said to myself as I popped open a beer...Then came today's LH422 from EDDF to KBOS.Having loaded up my PMDG747 I made an uneventful departure. About 8 hours later as I approached Boston, I planned to repeat what I had done the night before in the 763. I would receive my initial descent clearance (well in advance of my computed T/D point) and request for it to be Pilot's Discretion. RC V4.01: the actual wind is 220 degrees/5 kts, but the tower controller says "clear for takeoff, wind calm". Why?? I tried it more times, no change.

Hi thereI have found the cure for stutter :-lol No I was just kidding. Serious, I bought a laptop with Wireless lan and using RC4.01 and ASV6 with WideFS from there. Now I have the ATC sound in my headphones and the FS sound in my 5.1 speakers. The stutter in FS is history, yeeaahhhaa. I can really recommend this for everyone using RC4Niclas

OK guys, has anybody had this happen:KLAX to RPLL. Leaving FL150 for 230 as asked to do. CTR asked me to switch to another CTR controller, and I hit the #1 button one million times and it never ever switched over and control kept kicking my butt since I didn't want to change the freq. Dear Support, just recevied my CD and key. After registering I aplied the 4,01 patch. Program runs fine. When I want to select any flight plan (created by FSBuild, FSCommander or default FS) I get the following message:Run time Error '53'RadarContact.rcv4module.get_departure_informationOK then program terminates.Please advise.

Hello everybody,I have encountered some problems where may be some of you can help me. At the moment I have the impression that FSBuild 2.2 and RC V4 does not really work GOOD together. I mean in specific the descent phase before I go on the final ILS. Example:I just flew a short flight from Frankfurt EDDF to Munich EDDM (using a generated Flightplan out of FSbuild). The first odd thing was that the Controller ask me to descent way before the TOD (in the flight plan roughly 30 miles later) and from my feeling it was still way to early... but anyway... this is can still be ok.... but when I approach the final, the controller asked me to descent and maintain 4000 ft until I…

BE200 FL250 KCXO-KALN on J29 vcnty EMG. I requested weather deviation twice and unable due crossing traffic. Thence, encountered MOD-SVR Turbulence and again requested deviation. This time I was told "do whatever you need to do". I then deviated about 20 degrees left. After about 3 minutes, I was chastised for being off course! I then declared an EMERGENCY with the best selection being Air Rage (on my part). If there was a deal, it ain't mine, it's ZME!All in good fun of course. Would it not be appropriate to include an option for Severe Weather in emergencies?

There's an uninstall link 001 in the RC4 folder. Will this uninstall the latest update or do I need to reinstall from the beginning.Bill M

I am currently using RCv4 with the 4.01 update. I have noticed with this version and, if memory serves me correctly with other versions as well, that this situation has come up. When I am in control of the aircraft I can use the 'B' key to set my altimeter accordingly. I usually turn control over to the co-pilot after aircraft is cleaned up and autopilot settings are entered. While airborne I can still set altimeter to the correct setting as needed using the 'B' key below FL180. When switched over to co-pilot, if I hit the 'B' key below FL180, the setting will show what it is supposed to be, then quickly change to setting of 29.92. While above FL180 all is well. I noticed…

Yo jd, just got the stuttering down to an acceptable level.Just had to have another go.Until now, installing the update caused severe stuttering. also greatly reduced framerates and slow fill rate when changing views. sometimes had to wait 2 seconds for new view of scenery to form.I suggest everyone tries this.Download a program called Freshui. Its a free program and you may as well register straight away. A most excellent product; it's my first version of Radar Contact and now I can't fly without it.However -- as a relatively short hop flyer -- I'm considering doing a few transoceanic flights. I've really never done this due to time constraints. In truth, i wouldn't be able to do the whole thing in real time, so I'd most likely have to accelerate to 2x or 4x speed.Would this time acceleration have any adverse effect on Radar Contact? Is there something I should know before doing the acceleration on such a long flight?Any information would be most welcome.Thanks again for a magnificent product (and the update did, indeed, do wonders for the talk-speed) and great support …

Hi, I am new to RC4.01 having only conducted a couple of flights so far. My overall impression is good although at the moment I am having a problem with the default ATC:With RC running at EGLL whatever frequency I am on I often hear duplicate messages from the default ATC as well as RC4, basically they speak over each other. I use JustFlight Traffic2004 and running with around 60% traffic.How do I disable the default ATC in FS2004? I can't find any mention of this in the documentation nor in the settings in FS2004.
