I just installed RC4 with the upgrade to 4.01 and I'm having difficulty getting it to run properly. The program seems to function fully and the sounds are clear when they do play. The problem I have is that radio transmissions don't occur when they should while Flight Simulator is running normally. For example, if I am cleared to taxi to the runway, the pilot doesn't respond even though automatic responses are selected. If I switch away from FS or right click on something, the message begins playing all of a sudden and any susbsequent responses continue without hesitation until I return to the FS screen. Hi,In anticipation of receiving my RC4,I have read the instruction manual and it would appear that I need to load RC4 on my main PC and then also on my WIDFES client. So does that mean that I need to obtain two licence keys, one for each PC?ThanksDrayton

When I select the airline in Radar Contact, the callsign appears below it.Is this the exact callsign that needs to be placed in the aicraft config file so that ATC interacts with it correctly? The reason I ask is that Qantaslink has a callsign listed in Radar Contact as quantaslink and I wanted to make sure there wasn't a spelling mistake.Thanks

JD,Whenever I download new sounds files, they always have a folder number that already exists in the Winwood directory. It asks if I want to overwirite/replace, which I do (like the instructions says), but I was just wondering what it is I'm overwriting. Instead of overwritng a folder, why not just add one "next in line"?

Hi all,Just wondering whether a fix was ever found for the Nvidia ADVDisplay problem.I finally got around to using RC for the first time last night (after buying it like 2 months ago) but I found that the advDisplay doesn't work properly with some types of Nvidia cards (I have a 256Mb 6800)When in full screen mode, anything which should render below the advDisplay doesn't, it just renders a black screen. Although this is solved when in windowed mode, it then cuts any pop-up windows (like for example the radio stack in the PMDG 737).Here is a diagram of the issue. Hi guys - This is not a big deal to me as it has only happened once but just FYI - Setting is for Otto to handle commswas on a flight to SLC from LAX in the stock FS9 747. ABout 40 miles from SLC, I opted to get the weather at the exact same time as I was told to "Contact Approach". Was cleared to leave freq - ATIS just identified itself but gave no information and returned to the freq. Only options showing were to contact tower, select rwy, etc - no approach contact. Few seconds later I was chided by RC4 about not contacting approach - only options available were to contact ground! A few seconds later, options changed to Cancel IFR or Terminate radar service. Where do I go to download the new update? I am getting e-mail notifications for the new voice sets but I never saw any notice for the new revision. The Home page for Radar Contact just says tho watch e-mail from Google Group. Any advice? Al Hahn

I was wondering if it would be possible to identify which voices are the USA voices and which are from Europe so that when you go download some additional voices you can figure out which ones you want to add to your collection, without having to download each one?

Is there a way to lower the voice volume on RC4? I would like to lower the ATC chatter.

Hi there, i know this isn't a Radar Contact question but i like the helpful people on this board so i thought i'd post here. Also i know a lot people here use FSBuild and the main FSbuild forums are rubbish.Anyway, has anyone updated their fsbuild with the latest navdata(dated 14th feb). I downloaded it and the sid/star database is messed up. I have SID and STARS that double back on themselves, go miles from the airport and allsorts. I've also created the Navdata indexes in the options. Does anyone else have this problem. I was trying to plan a flight from Paris CDG to Manchester using 8L SID AMOG1L and 6R STAR DAYN1B. It seems odd that there has been no suggestion to how to overcome the hesitation issue. I have gone back to RC prior to the update, as the hesitations are annoying.If I am the only one with the hesitations, then I am asking for tech Support......Help!

I just did my second full flight with RC4.01 and PMDG. I must agree that the ATC is far superior to the FS ATC. I have two major issues though that are causing some frustration:1. I have had a problem understanding the controllers. Before my second flight, i went in and unchecked all the none US controllers. My problem now is not clarity..it is the volume. I just cannot hear the controllers above the sound of the engine. Some of them are so faint that i literally have to stick my ears to the speakers to hear the controller. Is there a way to turn up the volume on the controllers voice?2. Since i installed RC4, on the two full flights i have had, my PMDG autopilot…

The Radar Contact text window screen is going blank on departure and approach when I'm needing to respond. For example on approach when ATC tells me to contact tower the screen is blank. I can still push the number 1 and it works, just no screen information. This happens on departure also. I have the screen information just fine on the ground before takeoff and later after departure. It stays blank after landing, however. I have the new patch installed. Please help. Thanks!Mike

Since upgrading to 4.01, I'm having a problem with the text display on the ADVDisplay. Several times during a flight, after replying to ATC, the display doesn't return to the main screen. I continue to see the text display of the last ATC transmission. Since I'm not seeing the main screen, I cant see the headings, distances or any other commands for RC4. The only way to get back to the main screen is to ask for a weather update. When the weather finishes, I'm returned to the main screen. How can I get RC4 to return me to the main screen after replying ROGER. BTW, I didn't have this problem before the upgrade. ThanksMike

jd,tried out RC for a while last night, noticed that if you change frequency during a transmission that the transmission still plays in its entirety...I wonder is there something that can be added to the codebase to cut the transmission when the user changes radio frequency...I'm not sure if this can be achieved now given that all the wavs are concatenated into 1?Maybe you can look into thisthanks,alan

I listened to the original demos of RC flights a while back. Since then, the patched version has people raving about how much better the voices sound.
