Hi,I installed RCv4 yesterday and what I've seen of it is great.One problem I encounter everytime is the following:Everytime ATC clears me to turn to the ILS or clears me to land (visual approach) FS shows the message that FS encountered a problem and needs the be restarted.Tried this 3 or 4 times at different airports and I've never been able to complete a flight.Any thoughts on a possible solution?Thanks for your reply.Fred

Now that I have had a chance to try out RC4 I agree that it is a major step up from the default. However, even with the recent patch, I still find the voices an aggravation even when they all sped up using the sliders. The problem is that phrases are created by joing individual words spoken with various tonal inflections and are not at all realistic esp. when compared to chatter files taken from real world ATC or even the default ATC. The other problem is getting enough voices with appropriate regional accents - once you exclude all the Americans and the few European accents there are hardly any left for places like Australia even if you include all the brits (they don…

www.flightaware.com -- resourcesThe revised site with near-live data that has been mentioned before now has a resources section with .pdf files for STARS, DPs, IAPs, etc. It includes an all-in-one file option so you can get an airports collection in one download.I have not fully explored the revised site so besides getting the actual flight plan routes (now with a 120 day history) you can get the rest of the resources from one location.Interesting. Still free. Hawaai, Alaska, etc., includes. Routes for International flights where one side is an FAA facility show routes in most cases.

If he purchases and receives his email verification, can he install the program using my CD (so as not to wait albeit it doesn't take that long for disk to arrive) and then request the code? Hi all,Just a quick mention of my stuttering probs with the V4.01 RC4.It happens, as with other reports, when it compiles the wavs. In my case I use FSAutostart and have disabled the AV (NOD 32).There are about 24 processes still running in background according to task manager.My system is AMD3200 32bit, 1 gig 3200 ram, 120MB sata drive (defragged regularly), Radeon 9800 pro 128MB.The stuttering is pretty bad at a busy airport, fair enough on that score, but it is still noticeable at unpopulated airports with or without weather.As others have said, it doesn't stop me using it but it would be lovely to iron it out.I haven't tried the initial release, I went straight for th…

flying the pmgd 747 i notice radr contact and pilots says "heavy" all the time. maybe thats right for america but in europ we only need heavy for the first call to each atc. any chance to put this right? its driving me nuts hearing so much heavy.mush

Hi,I'm new to RC and I've started going through the tutorials. I just flew tutorial #2 and was asked to hold just prior to MEM. When I was released from the hold I was flying the leg away from MEM. Before I could get back on my heading to MEM, ATC got on my case for not being on my flight path. Is there a way to get ATC to recognize that it takes a while to do a 180 in a 767?Charlie - KSBP

I have a generic question about what information is used by rc4 when a flightplan is imported and what it calculates on its own.I use fs9 to fs2004 to rc4 to create and import flightplansI seem to have problems at times with altitude restrictions that are ignored by rc4 does it use headings directly from the plan and airspeeds?Mike

Hi there,I have an AMD 64 4400 dual core running nvidia graphics on XP64, with 2MB RAM. This is a fresh install of MSFS20004 with the update, FS Flightkeeper 2.7, ActiveSky 6, FDC 3.1 and RC v4. Every time I line up, and as soon as I put the power on everything freezes until I close RC.Before the install I found that there was a conflict with FDC and the wav files which I reported on this forum. I have turned off everything except the basics FDC but it won't go. As soon as I turn off RC everything goes fine even for an extended 10 hour flight.Ideas please RegardsNevillePS I don't have 4.01 if that makes any difference

jd, After 5 flights with RC4.01, I can say that I'm extremely happy with the product! (After I got out of Denver, that is!) For everyone's knowledge bag: Find an AFCAD what allows multiple runways at busy airports -- like Denver :-shy -- Otherwise you will be 12th in line and just sit and sit and sit..... Only comment I have is extremely long downwinds (now at around 25-26 miles at SLC vs the 21-22 in RCv3). I've asked for short finals into SLC and they have been granted . Unfortunately I'm at 10,800 ft and the runway's just a little over 4,200'. Goin' down like a sack of rocks, we are :-eek !! Not a big problem, however. I find RCv4.01 a great enhancement n…

Hi!I installed RC4.0 fr the CD & got the upgrade link. After downloading & installing the 4.1 patch I have two options in my start menu folder - to start RC4.0 & RC4.1. I try start RC4.1 & it still has the same "General" options & also it starts as showing the same previous version 4.0.3737 that I used to get when I started the version 4.0 upon CD install.I have FS9.1 & FSUIPC ver 3.5.3 and would appreciate any ehlp in determining if I have the RC ver4.1 correctly installed.Thanks in advance,Jay

There was a recent exchange between John Burgess and Scott Pilot on the subject. Apparently John sent Scott some files for him to try out and he found them to his satisfaction. His aim was to do his own speaking instead of having the pilot voice in RC do it for him. I would like to do the same. There was some mention of the files being uploaded to Avsim, but I wasn't able to find them. Does anyone know if this has been done yet, and what the key search words would be?Thanks,Murfman

The last couple flights I've made with RC 4.01 have given me some strange instructions, at least IMO.I tune the tower and never even get to ask for take-off, I just get the response to taxi and hold and then take off.Now what's strange is, I'm told to fly a different runway heading as I'm told to take off. Like "Candler 93, cleared for take-off, fly heading 070, climb and maintain 4,000". This was last night with a runway heading of 93 degrees out of 8L at KATL. The minute I get airborne, I'm asked to turn to this different heading. Shouldn't I be able to get clear of the runway at least?? I talking within 300 feet AGL.Also, it happened at KPHX. Hi,My first flight using RC4 and all was well until I approached TOD. I had no ATC instruction to descend and therefore after about 10 minutes I HAD to descend. I then noticed in the ADVDisplay that my next waypoint was 3000 miles away, and ATC then vectored me towards this waypoint!!I have checked both the FSBuild flightplan, and the FS2004 one and all the waypoints were right. I have just checked the RC4 program and for some reason it did not see EDDF as the Arrival airport under controller info. In the CSV File EDDF does not exist!!Can someone please advise as to what may have occurredThanksDrayton

JD,Absolutely love V4.01! I have had no problems using the program and only "earned" one visit from that beloved FSDO inspector. Great job and congrats to you and the entire RC team. Guys, I am not a big complainer. I think of myself as rather patient. But, I just can't take it anymore.I haven't had one successfull flight yet and I have taken RC 4 out of hte barn at least 15 freak'n times.Out of 15 or so times, I can legitimatly see whereas I can say it was my fault three times. Each time, I was being rushed or whatever and (GASP) I had to four X'it. OK, I will let you slide on these three times that the controler just freak'n couldn't keep up.
