Hi All,I'm after a little help.I have just installed RC4 after recieving my key earlier today. All went well and after running the makerwy file on the FS9 pc the file was imported and processed by RC4 on the WideFS client.I setup at KDSM for the first tutorial and ran up RC4 on the client pc with FS9 up and running ready to go.Following the steps in the tutorial I tried to import the PLN file which gives me a Runtime Error 7 - out of memory? The plan resides on the FS pc in the normal folder.....Any ideas would be most welcome as I am scratching the sawdust here for why this is happening?Best RegardsTony

It's happened to me a couple of times that I've turned on takeoff to follow the flight plan only to be called by ATC for being off course. I know now that I've missed a pevious point and must go back to have it credited. Is there any way to delete the previous waypoint from RC's plan so as not to do the 180 degree back-tracking?Thanks - Terry

I use the PDMG 800/900 with MCP737 from cpflight and recently I added RC3 to my setup. It looks great but I think RC3 interferes with the MCP and PDMG controls. I checked the key assignment and there is nothing double, but when I start RC3 the heading control on the MCP737 don't work anymore.RC3 works on a second PC with widefsAre there more of you who uses this combination?Greetings from Holland Wim Alsemgeest

I was flying yersterday from KORD to EGPK in Scotland and after I left the mainland was told that I was off my route and RC direction was 275 and I was on a course of 095.The course RC wanted me to fly was in wrong direction.I looked at the MS flight plan that was loaded and 275 was no where to be found. What caused this problem? Hi,When flying in the US or in Western Europe, the TCAS system warns me on the average at least once a flight that I need to either descend or climb due to an immidiate threat from other planes. However if I do deviate to avoid a dangerous situation, ATC starts to yell at me for busting my altitude restrictions.Of course I can call a deviation for turbulence, however considering it's a critical situation, there's usual not time to contact ATC before it's too late to prevent the situation. Was it an idea in a later version to allow busting the assigned altitude in case ATC has issued a traffic warning?/ Jesper

I'm a newcomer to FS9 and just recently bought Radar Contact v4 (which is something extraordinary!!!!) but I don't know how to deal with transition level & transition altitude. I've read rcv4 manual but just couldn't get its significance. Can someone explain them? Thanks

I am trying to figure out if it is helpfull to run RCV4 (and ASV + FlightKeeper) froma nonFS computer.I have my PC veryell tuned and working at around 25-35 fps with all the sliders on the right. But in order to keep this very satisfactory performance after adding other softwares I am wondering should I migrate RCV4, FlightKeeper and ASV on my laptop. What is your opinion ?If positive, how do I proceed with the existing softwares on the FS PC and installing them on the laptop ? :-)

Is this a known issue? It doesn't seem to be related to RCv4. If I turn advdisplay on I go from 45 to 29 fps in one scenario. I turn it off and back up to 45. It's also reducing the fluidity of my sim.Any ideas? Thanks,Adam

"Sir?""I hope you don't drive like this".At last, Flight Simming with a sense of humour!Actually it would have been funny had ATC not been telling me I was ("This is the third time.....") way off course, when the loaded Flightplan in FSNav and the ATR EHSI - which of course is the plan loaded into RC4 - was showing that I was spot-on. ATC wanted me to turn a 180 and go back where I came from, halfway through the trip and 70 ks from my destination.Any explanation would be appreciated.

  13. Loading a flightplan for the first time I got 'Runtime error 713 - needs MSSTDFMT.DLL'. Looking here I found a post about it: the user downloaded the missing dll and no further mention was made.I downloaded it and installed it into the FS9 modules folder, and when I started FS9 was told that it was an incorrect or potentially harmfull file, and did I want to load it?Is this normal?Where in the Manual does it say that I need this dll?Should my FS9 have had this file anyway? What should I do?

I found a set of FP's for europe that came with fs9 but for some reason I don't get final vectors - this happened with flight 1 and yesterday with flight 2 from LFPO to LIMC. IE, told to descend to 16k then 9k and was then turned onto a heading which I thought would end up with an ILS landing to R17L. However, whilst the controller notified me about nearby traffic etc there was no further vectors. Anyway, when I was 40miles past I cancelled the IFR and did my own approach to 17L. Why I say...;( could it be that these flight plans are missing a vital waypoint to prompt further vectors or is it a database problem I wonder.

  15. I continue to be frustrated that RC4.x does not give correct vectors under the circumstance of an approach that is general nearly parallel to the runway heading. It does great if one happens to be approaching a runway at nearly right angles.Yesterday I was approaching runway 28L at KDPX from the east-southeast . I was given a vector that nicely pointed me towards the initial approach fix for the ILS. I would have intercepted the ILS at a very shallow angle, like 10 degrees, but so what. Again I was coming pretty much from the east directly toward the runway. Then suddenly about 18 miles out I am told to turn to a heading that takes me off perpindicular to the runway direct…

This is for all the RC4 holding fans (the closest you'll ever get to FS9 NASCAR...like left turns and hold on!),This is what I have recently learned about RC4 holding. If you want to be held on every flight, select the "hold" option on RC4 Plane Information and Options before the flight. However, you will not be held unless you select on your flight plan a VOR as your last navigation fix. This VOR must be located on or very near your destination airport.Your total route of flight should be at least 125 miles. (A very short hope will force ATC to hold you but by radar vectors only.)You will be given an option for vectors or holding about 60 miles out. Select holding.Holdi…

Hey,using RC4.01 every day and its just excellent. I am really enjoying myself with it.I did post earlier on this forum about black screen and so on. that one has been fixed here. even with 100 % traffic.the thing I did was to reduce all settings in FS, even reduced the weather a bit also, and now I can land and depart in heavy traffic at heavy airports with no problem, and with bad weather.so I just want to thank jd and the team behind this good program, and I wish the program all the best for the years who is comingthanksAnders S.

Is there some way to turn up the volume of the RC4 ATC? I can hear "my" voice fine. I can hear other sounds in the cockpit but the RC4 controllers seem to be pretty quiet. I really struggle to hear them. Also, and a long the same lines, is there a log-type function that allows me to reference back to what ATC has assigned me? For example, I'm departing KMDW, cleared to fly runway heading to 6,000 ft. Then I'm told to turn left to *whisper*whisper*whisper*. How do I know what I've just been asigned?Love the product. Not complaining...really.Bob

My experience is that in order to use SID STAR with RC4 they need to be incorparated into the flightplan. If not RC4 thinks I'm getting of course. I have two problems with that1) In the flight planner I use (FS Commander 7.6) there are often no SID STAR included. The 767 FMC contains a lot of SID STAR that is not available in FSC 7.6.2) Even if they are available in FSC I still have an objection here. You don't know which runway you are going to use and therefore convinient SID STAR at the time you make the flightplan. (I usually use real time weather). How can I let RC4 understand that I'm using a SID or STAR or approach selected after the flightplan was made. The IAP only…

Hi fellow Simmers:Just thought I would mention how I receive current flight plans being used by airlines under the control of the FAA..The first step is to go to www.flightaware.com.This is a radar tracking, site which tracks all aircraft under the control of the FAA.To have the site display all flights in real time at your location simply type in that airport identifier and all the arrivals and departures will be displayed.I then check and see what destinations tickle my fancy, I then select that particular one. This opens up another page where the you can see the actual flight plan that is being used to reach the selected destination.Just copy the destination, close …
