Well, after many months, Im back on the RC wagon, I purchased RC4.X today. The "first" may be that I purchased it over the net within FS9, using FSBrower, while flying from KRDD to KEUG! in my Aerowerx KingAir. I've purchased tons of software over the net, just never while sitting left seat!! OK, so what do you guys think, a first?,at least for RC? Randy Jura, KPDX

Why do I always get given a QNH of 1013.2mb wherever I am and whatever the weather in RC4? No matter whether in the air or on the ground, always the same.Regards,Paul

I notice that when ATC give taxi clearance, either to or from the active, they do not give a routing or, in the case of arriving, a gate number - all I've had is "taxi to the ramp". This does not seem right to me. Surely ground want to ensure that you don't go where you're not wanted!The only reason I can think of for this is that RC can be used with earlier versions of FS that did no have taxiways or gates identified.Iain

I had a problem with the Abort T/O feature this morning. I was on cleared to takeoff on runway 15R at KIAH. I was cleared to takeoff. An AI plane was crossing the active and stopped on the runway. I did an Abort T/O. RC told me to clear runway and contact ground. My co-pilot had the comms. Co-pilot was unable to contact ground as no option to contact ground was in the menu. Only options in menu are Main-0 and that function does nothing. Only other information in the AdvDisplay window is first waypoint. 73m/185/0I proceeded to taxi to the other end of the runway for a 33L takeoff but never got any time of clearance or hold instructions. Greetings allHas anyone yet experienced a deviation for weather at all ? I always fly using Active Sky and have so far not yet had the opportunity to see for myself what happens (if anything except, of course, changing heading). I know I could simply ask (just prefer not to, keeping it as 'real' as poss.) but thought I'd like to hear of others' tales of deviation ;-)Cheers allKevin

HiI am working on a monitoring program and would like to use it in conjunction with RC ATC.Is there a facility availible to 'read' the instructions given by ATC, ie 'climb to FL210 heading 200'. I can read the current heading/altitude of the plane using FSUIPC but how can I read the requested heading?Many thanksGraham

Last night I took off from KJFK to LIRF with the "pause at distance" option enabled. This morning I woke up and my 767 was over Egypt :( Am I supposed to toggle pause at distance before I click run?

hello folks i have a problem i just downloaded radar contact for the first time and i get and error saying i have a missing file(ComponentMscomctl.ocx or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missisng or invalid) i reloaed the software and i get the same message.not for sure where to go from here can anyone help....Thanks...Robert

I've read the previous issue of AI traffic freezing because AI chatter was not selected in the menu (and I do have it selected) but I tend to see a mad rush for departure runway when I beam into FS9/RC4 for a flight. I departed KDCA this evening, Heathrow the other day and noticed a pretty massive traffic queue awaiting departure--yes much more than real world backups. Some of the AI traffic disappears after several minutes of not moving. I've been in a situation sitting number one on the hold line facing an aircraft on the opposing taxi hold line and tower not making the call to clear either one of us for takeoff.Additionally, I was expecting to see less go arounds with…

I've got Rc4.01 installed and, on the whole running well.Two snags:1.If Pre-recorded chatter is checked, it seems to eliminate the sound of any communication between atc and UT traffic. I only hear the chatter and my plane sending/receiving messages. But as soon as I untick pre-rec chatter, I can hear communication with other present UT aircraft.Could it be a sound card issue?2. RC4 seems to have affected the UT gauges- Palmspotter and TCAS.On the first, I can see all departing/arriving flights and hear the announcer, but dep/arr times are all 0000. I like the idea of having background chatter with RC4. However, as pointed out on a previous post, RC cannot juggle AI chatter and general chatter. You can listen to one or the other.Three questions on this:1. Where can I find airports that have live atc transmissions so that I could record the wav files and import them into RC?2. How would I record those transmissions? Is there a tool in Windows XP to do that? or some other freeware software to do the same?3. I'm thinking of using the freeware Enviro program -http://www.avsim.com/hangar/utils/enviro/ to play that live atc chatter after recording it. I tried to run the Rebuild Scenery DB, got the Wide FS prompt (No), and was told Makerwys is not in the FS9 path.I found it (I am right in thinking it's the MS Dos Batch file thing?) in the RC4 folder and put it in FS9 main folder. Tried to run DB again: "Makerwys is not in path", again.Oh, and I'm getting almost no chatter or traffic warnings. I turned up FS9 ATC and hear a lot more: from RC4 I hear less that half of the FS9 chatter, and always afterwards. Have I got something set wrong?

HiHow does RC get you to the laternate airport once you select change destinations like, because of weather. My FMC (Level_D) can have an alternate route ready to go but RC only knows about the original flight plan. RC does not have the route to the alternate.Do you have to have a flight plan ready to load into RC? Can another flight plan be loaded into RC on the fly?Regards,Vaughan Martell, Jr

I'll start by saying that if I should be asking about this someplace else, please let me know. I'm asking here because I only use AdvDisplay for RC4...Since switching to FSUIPC AdvDisplay, the AdvDisplay is showing up in all views (VC, Spot, Tower, etc.). When I used AdvDisplay previously, the display would only appear in the 2D Cockpit view. Any ideas as to how I can prevent FSUIPC AdvDisplay from showing up in every view?Bob

I have read the documentation and I'm left shaking my head without a clue. Can anyone explain the value that corresponds to the AdvDisplayHotKey variable in the fsuipc.ini? All I want to do is set a key as the hotkey, and I feel like I need a CIA cryptographer to assist. :D

HiI'm a new user and I've got a problem with RC4. I start RC4 and FS9 load the FP etc. But in the green RC4 text window I'm getting missing chars and garbage chars. (See ScreenShot Attachment) Any ideas as to what's wrong?Many thanksIan EGBB

HiI am new to RC4 and only just got it. When I create my flight plan using FS2004 flight planner, save it then try to load it in to RC4 it does not show up. I've looked in the flights folder/myflights and its not there. I've done a Windows search for it but it cannot find it. Where does FS2004 flight planner save the .pln files to? I have also tried with FSNav 4.7 Exported as a .pln file and also tried a RC export, but they just don't show up anywhere. Can someone point me in the right direction.Many ThanksIan EGBB

I am a new RCv4 user and have the app connected via a laptop connected with WideFS.Today I was doing a tutorial flight (KDSM to KORD) and everything was going smoothly until about mid way during the flight. I had just heard a message from Chicago center and acknowledged it. The problem is that this acknowledgement kept repeating every few minutes until about 10 miles from KORD. By that time, I had missed all controller vectors and everyone was confused -- including me.In the future if this happens again how do I get back on track. While the messages were repeating I tried to access other menus to no avail.RegardsDave

Hi John,<>You're setting QNH too soon. Wait until you hear 'altimeter check' during the decent and set it then to QNH.You can request Altimeter Check during most phases of the flight. Press zero a couple of times and you should get the option but the key is setting the altimeter only when you hear 'Altimeter Check'.Cheers,
