I've been flying the third tutorial and chose to fly direct to KSTL. Once I am told to contact Arrival, I, the pilot ask for Runway 0 (Zero). There is no such runway like that at KSTL. I have rebuilt the scenery database using makerways and have checked for duplicate AFCADS and there are none. I am not using any addon scenery, and use the Flight 1 AFCAD for Ultimate Traffic. The runways listed in the text window are correct and do not include a Runway 0. Yes, if I select a different runway everything is fine. do you have to open a flightplan in fs2004 or if you have exported to the pmdg 737 can you just loaod the plan into the fmc and fly that way with rc4 thanks,jim ps. sorry for all the questions

Hi guys,Flew LH into EDDF last weekend, as I was passing about 13,000 feet in the descent, ATC vectored me through almost 180 degrees so I was flying AWAY from the airport with an instruction to resume own navigation at 11,000 feet. As I aproached 11,000 feet I was given vectors back to the airport anyway.UT traffic was moderate but not rush-hour at the time (about 0630 local time). I'm just wondering why RC would do this?

I'd like to suggest for a future version to allow pilots at non-towered airports to get WX from the ASOS/AWOS on field, as the default FS2004 ATC does. While in real life I certainly call FSS on the phone for a WX briefing an hour or so before departure, I get current departure WX on field from the ASOS. I then get my clearance via the RCO on field or possibly when conditions are VMC, in the air. I'd just be curious why this default feature wasn't carried over to RC. Thanks.

Most of my favorite fields are untowered. Two I have recently tried included KHII and KACV. At each I only get a menu with two choices: (2) Wx on FSS and (4) CLR on FSS. This is what I expect. But no matter what I press or tune on the radio I can't either of these options to do anything. Silence and no change. As a result I don't get any taxi or subsequent options. I just have to use the default ATC. It seems like maybe the radio needs to be tuned to a specific frequency, but I have scoured the manual and can't find what to tune to. I have use all the frequencies listed from FS Navigator off the Jeppsen Charts, but nothing. I try Center, CTAF, and AWOS. Nothing…

Which means thunderstorms. Twice in the last week using AS6 I've had to ask for a wx deviation, only to be denied. I still deviated as a PIC I would not penetrate the looming TS straight in my flight path and of course got all sorts of grief from RC. Why won't RC give me a deviation? It mentioned crossing traffic, but with those 40,000 ft monsters around, safety for me is my primary concern ;-) Mike

All I've been able to locate is FSUIPC 3.6 not the upgraded version. Still haven't figured out how to make dialogue box appear in the same box as FS9 ATC...as JD states:"what is really really cool about this version (3.601) of fsuipc, you can dump advdisp, and use the new display functionality of fsuipc. fsuipc redirects the rc menus and dialogs to the window the FS ATC uses. transparent, frame friendly, sizable and moveable."jdI deleted the ADVDISP.DLL from modules etc...but all I get is the FSUIPC box now that is transparent with white text...along with the FS9 ATC box.Any thoughts?Thanks in advance.

Is there anyway in RC4 to cancel IFR--fly a low level mission squawking 1200--and then perhaps pickup an IFR flightplan? Or at least be able to pop-up and call center/approach.I've tried building a flightplan in FSBuild from let's say Nellis AFB to Edwards AFB but there's no way to avoid the inevitable "off course/altitude/airspeed busts" that come with an IFR flightplan. So you basically have to fly entirely comm out (no RC4).RC4 is super for line flying but it would be a nice touch to at least give you the capability to cancel IFR for fast movers.Has anyone figured out how to skin this one?KemoF15

After reinstalling Windows and later Radarcontact (without error messages) I got this message when trying to run RC4Invalid COMDLG32.OCX or one of its dependies not correctly registered a file is missing.What is that? What should I do?

I flew into San Diego via KLAX. I asked for weather when copilot asked me to and was told that KSAN was clear visibilty 40 miles. I accepted the runway on ATIS of 27 which has no ILS. After being vectored, it was apparent that there was a low overcast, and I could not visually see the runway. So I asked for missed approach and received it.At this point it was clear that I could not land visually so my best option was to request at that time an approach to ILS 09. But I could not find any logic that allowed me to ask for a vectored approach to that different runway. i was doing the tutorial flight 0c5-klaf, i used fsbuid for the flight plan 0c5- cgt- v7- bvt- klaf, but when i exported the plan to fs2004 and loaded the plan i noticed that the waypoints where 0c5-bvt-klaf no airways where selected although fs2004 does have the airway v7,is this a problem with fs2004, so does that mean when i transfer the plan to rc4 the plan will also be incorrect,also can i not just export the plan direct from fsbuild to rc4. thanks,jim

I tried to launch RC last night and got a message that it could not link to FSUIPC or WideClient. I have never seen this message before. I tried downloading/installing the new version of FSUIPC and then uninstalling/reinstalling RC4. Same message appeared after each try. Is there a setting that I am missing? Has anyone else gotten this message? Thanks for any input!

Hey, Couple of problems i am encountering, First i have been reading some of these forums and i am unclear about AI traffic on the ground.From what i read, rc4 cant controll traffic while taxing. Does this include traffic holding short of the runway?? I do not hear the tower in RC talk to the traffic at all on the ground, unless it is getting clearances... clearance, or taxi instructions. I dont hear them tell the traffic to contact tower or the tower telling them to hold short.ect Yes i do have the interact with AI button engaged. is this normal. Also i have had several encounters when the tower will tell me cleared to land while other traffic is on the runway …

hi just ordered dc4 and was wondering if it will work with my uregisterd version of fsuipv 3.53, also i noticed the delivery for rc4 is 2-4 weeks is this the norm or can i expect it sooner, i live in the uk. also does rc4 work with fs crew thanks, jim

Hi Everyone,I just had an interesting event going in to Vegas, the winds were reported at KLAS 101656Z 04010G18KT 10SM CLR 26/M06 A3009, Radar Contact4 gave me runway 25L for landing, during approach, I heard RC4 give a Suncountry flight approach vectors for 7L, low and behold during my final approach tower cleared me to land on 25L, in the attached picture you can clearly see my approach with head on traffic inbound for 7 Left and Right.Any ideas of what went wrong?Thanks,Dale Reitz

Sometmes I want to change the t/o runway but the option to req rwy insn't always in the menu. Sometimes the assigned runway number and the req rwy is there but at other times only the assigned runway number is there without the option to req rwy.

Hello Everyone, My name is Rich and I'm new here. Sorry for my 1st posting to be a problem. I puchased RCv4 about a week ago. I've installed it with every combanation of addon I can come up with and I have the same problem. So before I reinstall again I figured I'd come here. My problem is with AI traffic. I use MYTRAFFIC 2006 at %100. I'm flying the PMDG 747 and everytime I pull upto the Rwy ready to take off RC tells me to line up on the rwy right away. There could be 3 planes in front of me and 1 landing and it still tells me to Line-Up. Then I have to sit there and wait for those planes to Time-out. Other times I've had AI planes drive right thru me. As if I w…
