Get the base FSUIPC version from:http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmland then the interim update version from the modules link on this page:http://forum.simflight.com/forum/142-download-links/From that same downloads link page under the Additional Programs link get the latest makerwys.exeFSUIPC now self installs initially based on your registry entry for your FS path. Check that with this free utility:FSX/FS9 Registry Repair Tool (36KB) from http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=libraryAfter getting FSUIPC installed and then makerwys.exe installed in your FS folder start RC and rebuild the scenery database. If you have both an FSX and FS9 installation two RC4 folders were c…

Had something happen tonight which has happened a couple of times before with RC. I did a flight from Brussels to Zurich. On nearing Zurich I was given my final vectors and altitude to "maintain until established". I had the NAV radios tuned to the correct ILS frequency, set my heading and alt as instructed and waited for the ILS indicators to light up when I would press the APPR button. The GS diamond lit up but didn't move but no sign of life from the runway bar. I kept watching the RC window and the heading to the runway and eventually decided to take over. We had gone past the airport so I did a "hands on" turnaround, approach and landing. I don't think the passengers…

I just bought Radar Contact V4.0. Upon installing it the first thing it did was complain that it could not find COMDLG32.OCX. I copied this from another computer that has Visual Studio on it.This allowed me to enter the regestration code. Then I clicked on the button to load a FS2004 Instrument Filght Plan and it complained that it could not find MSSTDFMT.DLL. Again I copied this over from another computer. I put it both in the RC4 and System32 directory.I then started RC4.01 and again tryed to load in the FS2004 Instrunment Flight Plan. Again it complained that it could not find MSSTDFMT.DLL.These files should have been in the install package. But now I can not even run …

Is there a way to increase the volume of the ATC, pilot and chatter voices in RC4.01? In particular, flying the PMDG 747-400 with sounds levels in FS set per PMDG recommendations, voices are very faint and hard to hear. I've tried adjusting the FS sound levels down and it helped some but, minimally.ThanksRandy Blaha

I have installed WideFS and RCV4 on the secondary PC. I executed the Makerwys. I checked the presence of r4.csv in the main folder of FS9.Now the manual says that when I rebuild the Scenery DB I need to specify the NETWORK path to the main FS folder. Here I am a bit lost. How do I find the network path that I need to provide to RCV4 ? I thought that WideFS handles the connections. If I enter just C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9 as the path RCV4 tells me he cannot find the file

Can anyone help me. Read the manual - had Radar Contact for about 8 weeks now - can't get a flight out of it. Latest warning is "Cannot Link to FSUIPC or Wideclient" I have a registered copy of FSUIPC and have just re-installed it to see if that would work. No joy.Kev:-(

HiI was very, very happy with RCv4.01. Then changed HD. My old installation of RC4 was in a 2nd HD, with FS9 and it worked wonderfully.I just can't get RC4 anymore. Tried installing it in the same 2nd HD (the same where I run FS9), then did the same thing in C:program files and both times there was this message that COMDLG32.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid. How do I do to make RC work?ThanksEduardo

Microsoft have posted an interesting article all about the ATC in MSFS - the article covers what was involved in making the ATC audio and how 45,000 different audio files make up the audio you hear! Other topics include file management, naturalistic audio, and even voice talent! You can visit the Microsoft MSFS site and read the article in full [a href=http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/fs2004_assembledvoices.asp]here[/a]Get the ATC voicepack SDK [a href=http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/fs2004_downloads_sdk.asp]there[/a]

How wonderful it would be if the program somehow made a running backup of itself, so one could return to where one were when the simulator crashes right before landing. When a crash occurs, one don't have the option to save it manually! - and one don't know in advance that it will!!At least in the old version one could work oneself the way from the start to where one are when the simulator crashes, by just responding and eventually going directly to the next waypoint (the one before landing). Now - since one are send directly out on the runway, in the new version, one don't have that option anymore and can't force the program to go to where one are.Now the only option is …

jd,On my primary PC RCV4 shows Version 4.0.3737Several weeks after installing the V4 you issued an update to downloadcalled 401update.exe. (2/12/2006) I installed it. 2 days ago I clicked the Check for updates after seeing the descripency with RCV4 on the secondary PC.On the secondary PC I also downloaded V4.I did not install 401update.exe but I did click Check for updates on the main screen. That seemed to work but that same main screen shows Version 4.0.36752 questions:A. Should I NOW download the 401update.exe on the secondary PCB. Despite the versions showed on the screen are these two RCV4 up to date ?

Hello all.Quite frequently, I've been given instructions to line up and wait with landing traffic on short final, in as close as 3 miles for an earlier flight today.Usually when this happens, and depending on what aircraft I'm in, I'll just wait for the arrival to land before I enter the runway. Typically, I'm in something heavy, with simply no possibility of getting lined up, cleared for T/O, and airborne in such a short time, so as not to cause a go around.Today I was in an MD-80, and figured I'd give it a shot. I lined up as fast as I reasonably could, got T/O clearance almost immediately after aligning, and as soon as the clearance was out of the controller's mouth, I…

I am relatively new user of RCV4 and like it a lot. I use it every time I fly and have some questions as noted below:1. Dropped Voice Message -- most of the time voice messages come in fine but in every flight I have a few that don't happen ... the only way I know I have missed one is that I see the request for acknowledgement ... and usually do a CS/ to repeat. Why does this happen and how can I prevent it in the future?2. Holding -- in the last couple of days I have taken two flights from St Maarten (TNCM) to San Juan in two different aircraft (Caravan and 767). Both flights were late at night in good weather. On both flights I was held for about 20 min 50 miles from Sa…

I just received my copy of RC and am very anxious to get it going. However I have immediately ran into a problem. Since installing RC I at first was getting an error message abount an FSUIPC access error. However after downloading the latest version 3.617 that problem has cleared itself. However I still an not getting any sound from either FS9 or RC. I am getting the scripting on the screen to make program selections but I am not getting any audible messages with this. Also as stated above I am not getting any sounds out of FS9 either even if I don't load RC.Please can someone help me.Thank you

Now that i am back happily flying my way through the tutorials, i have noticed an interesting little Quirk when requesting a short final; I notice the controller does'nt reply with a "short final approved" or something similar, but just gives you a heading to turn onto. I discovered this in tutorial 3 and this is not a complaint just an observation as at 1st it was confusing because i thought i had been refused. I assume if a short final is declined, the controller makes it clear because as i said earlier the allowing of a short final is'nt actually acknowledged as such. Anyone else noticed this?CheersRod

A minor quibble regarding phraseolgy. As far as I am aware the word "airport" as used in RC clearances eg "Request clearance to xyz airport" is not used in Australian airspace. Not sure of the exact local wording but it is something like "Qantas 456 request airways clearance as filed". But happy to be corrected on this by any RW aussie pilots/controllers.Bruceb
