I'm running RC4.1 on a second computer connected via WIDEFS. So far it works fine, however sometimes I see in the menu the option to acknoledge an instruction, however there was no audible instruction. Only if I ask the controller to repeat I'll get the instruction and will be able to hear it. I 'think' but I'm still testing, that the power saving feature on my laptop could be interfering. If not this, then I have a problem :(

Hi,yesterday I did a flight ending at Milan Malpensa (LIMC), where runways 35L and 35R are used most of the time. I left the arrival runway field blank in the RC4 controller options before starting RC4 and ATC instructed me to fly an approach to runway 17L. I thought "ok, it will be because of southerly wind" and complied, BUT when I was on the ground I saw other AI airplanes landing and taking off from runways 35. Why?? Shouldn't RC4 instruct me to the same runways used by AI?Another question: how can I know the runway in use in advance (during cruise or descent start), in order to program the FMC? I have been using the software for a couple months without problems. Over the last few days I have stopped receiving pressure call outs other than 2992. It worked fine in the past. I don't know where to start with this problem. I use FSbuild for my plans and have ultimate traffic and ultimate scenery USA. Is this a FSUIPC or FS9 settings problem?Thank you. I love RC.Craig

IU have just installed RC. When I trey to load a flight plan all I get is this message See Attachment.i have FS Build as my flght planner. I have also tried normal FS9 flight planner with the same result. The only reason the flight is on is so I could photo the error message using FS Screen.Any help or cure would be welcome.Simon

Hi fans,I need some help. I didn't fly for a week or so. Today Istarted a small flight in Germany - eddk to eddh - with rc4.1.I tried very hard, but there was no voice at all. The text inthe ADV Display was shown and when I pressed the 1 or 7 it worked.But without any sound.Yes the boxes are connected and when I play a wave-file everything is allright. Only Radar Contact keeps silent.Is there a small switch which turns rc4 on and off?I use rc4 since February 06 and it worked without any problems. hi when doing a flight using rc4 i set the qnh given by atc, im flying in the uk my transition level is 6000ft, after crossing 6000ft i put the standard qnh in as 29.92ins, is this the correct procedure as i keep getting a message that my altitude setting is wrong press b to set correct altitude, which i usually ignore, also if i ask atc for a altimeter check after 6000ft atc gives me one thats different from the standard setting of 29.92. is this as things should be. thanks newbie

As subject..... it will not close after shutting down Flight Sim 9. Will not end even after Control/Alt/Delete. It just hangs!!!!!!!!!!Is this normal???

I have been running RC4 for a while now...great program.I looked at the manual stating about the makerwys file has to be on the fS9 PC, now in the manual it says that it will ask you if this is a wide fs instalation when rebuilding the runways, the problem is that I have had no prompts to this effect. They hit me for entering a runway with a plane on approach....Not fair, I didn't. Take a look at the taxiway at KBOI and see what I mean. It was Runway 10L, the taxiway lines up with the runway, so I pulled up to get behind a 727 that was in front and suddenly tower tells me to hit the brakes, so I do, then the other plane lands, the 727 goes, and I'm left sitting like a moron at the hold point, nothing, for 3 minutes nothing. so I finally hit abort and get my clearance back round, this time I hold shorter still before eventually being cleared, then fly my flight, at the end I hit critique only to learn that I almost caused a crash and the landing plane had reported me to…

I have done two flights with RADAR contact v4.Now,I have a couple of questions .1. How do I set up where Rcv4 AI chatter is actually the traffic that you are seeing in the sim. Example there was about ten aircraft on the ground . Each of them were taxing to the active rwy around and only one of them was interacting with Rcv4 ground controller.This also was true in the air.2.I downloaded update rc01update and installed it but my interface screen reads radar contact version 4.0.3737 is this the lastest version? I'm starting to find that using RC4 with the LDS 767 is a bit of a hassle at least during the descent and approach phases. The LDS 767 flies beautifully using LNAV and VNAV when left to its own devices without RC input. However if I attempt to follow RC directions during the desecent and approach phase it is near impossible to keep the airspeed below 250 knots and I am always being chided for being too fast when below 10000 ft. As a further consequence all my approaches are way to fast leading to some dramatic landings. Grateful for any suggestions from RC and LDS 767 fliers.Bruceb

Hi,I purchased RC4 not long ago... I have AI from about 20-30 airlines and everytime when I take off or landing there are about 15-20 aircraft in the major airports.I also installed ASv6 for weather, and I'm using PMDG 747-400.I made sure that "Interact with AI" and "AI chatter" are selected.I noticed some strange things since I started to RC4:1. I see sometimes aircraft taxing on the ground and although I'm on ground frequency, I cant hear RC4 chatting with them. The FS9's build it ATC does seems to chat with them (I can see it on that built in ATC window). Also, I see that ground frequency is not the same as RC4 ground frequency (this is why I probably do not hear them …

I sometimes fly from Southampton Int'l here in the UK which has a single runway 02/20.The lack of ground control is causing a problem when 20 is the active end as the hold point for this is almost halfway along the runway so a long backtrack is required.On three occasions I've been second or third in line for take off but unfortunately RC does not see the backtracking required. So the AI in front of me is cleared to t/off and as he is taxiing along the runway to turn and t/off having been given clearance I'm told to "line up and wait". But I can't without going headlong into the previous AI. So I wait until he has taken off and then I do my backtracking. As I'm turning in…

Transponders, or rather the lack of; was/is there any work-around to not having a transponder on an older type a/c like the DC3 that doesn't come with said gauge so that RC4 can still be used ?I've read the thread http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=search mentioned before but there didn't seem to be a resolution.Any assistance will be much appreciated.Best wishes

I use RCV4 on every flight and many times find myself hunting for the "1" and "7" keys in the dark.I would love to program my controls (CH controls) to send these keystrokes to FS9 but cannot seem to make it work ... and I have tried using FSUPIC.Is there a way to do this?RegardsDave

OK so I think I am going to purchase FS2 Crew as well as RC4. I have TrackIr as well and I am wondering what your settings are for speed at each edit point as well as what you have your smoothing set at.Your sim runs fairly fluidly, mine still has those micro stutters. A couple of times now I've been told to climb to an altitude above my planned level. Last night it was 6000 against my submitted 4000 feet. But when I started to get above 4000 feet I was told off for busting my altitude, erm hello Control but you told me to climb....

In an earlier post, I formed the impression that it was possible to limit voices to particular regions. For instance, only allowing british controller voices in the United Kingdom, and US controller voices in the US.JD seemed to suggest that this 'had been coded' but that it was just as unrealistic to have many differnet accents as it was to only have one particular voice for a whole country. I think that is a matter of preference, but that is beside the point.What I would like to find out is whether it is possible to create custom voice lists for different regions of the world. It would be great if I could just list those voices that can be used for a particular count…

Hi guys. Just got a new Dell XPS600 and of course, everything has to be reinstalled. When I try to load a flightplan into RCV4.1, I get an error about a "Class not registered" and that I have to install MSSTDFMT.DLL on my machine. I've downloaded that file and put it into my windows/system32 folder and still no luck. I get the same error message. Am I putting it in the right place or is there something else I don't know about.
