A few days ago I purchased RC4, and shipment took unexpectedly only a few days from USA to Norway - impressing!Anyhow, I have now struggled with RC4 for a few days. I run Ultimate Traffic, FS passangers, FSNavigator and Active Sky together with RC4.I have got my license/key, run the rebuild scenery (MANY times) and always load the RC 4 last as the manual says, but EACH time I start RC it send me to North 0, Easth 0, which is in the middle of the Atlantic and crash. What do I do wrong or what can I do to get this correct? So one more thing....for example trying to TO at TAMPA, Fl the scenery has completely been messed up and I get a lot of builing crashes after installing RC…

I'm still investigating this but here goes.Got a new PC with quite high specs.Loaded it up with FS9.1 and all the add-ons I had been using fine on the old machine.Namely AS6,RC4,Ultimate Traffic,Ultimate Terrain(USA and Eu)FSG mesh,PMDG 737,747,ATR,etcAll goes well apart from a slight problem when using RC4.From time to time the sim locks. Not a total freeze as the aircraft keeps on flying but I can't use the keyboard, mouse or joystick. After about a minute or so it resumes.Without RC4 all behaves normally apart from a very slight pause which recovers in a millisecond.I've tried it with and without AS6 and various aircraft and it only seems to happen when RC4 is running.I h…

Hi all,I must be missing a step somwhere here. I file as a heavy jet and after departure, due to the heavy loading, I need to exceed 250knots to keep out of trouble. Trouble is, I can't find the option to request the restriction waiver. I'm sure it used to be accessible through the ADVdisp window after departure?Any ideas?

I just installed the version 4.2 exe file and re-registered, now I am getting runtime error messages from the program whenever I try to transmit.'Runtime Error 5' is the most common one.Should I go back to my prior exe? (version 4.0.0.3737) Is this the wrong version to upgrade from? What did I do wrong? I was having no problems until going to version 4.2.3831Scott

I did a flight from EDNY to Salzburg LOWS. The directions from RC was to stay at 8000 ft until established on the glideslope. But this won't work. I will miss the glideslope if I come in so high. According to the approach chart I should go down to 4000 ft. Why won't RC give me that height before turning to capture the ILS?

Just got RC last night. I got it running. I already got a key code to launch the program. I successfully updated to 4.1. But, I get an error message when trying to run the exe to update to 4.2. I installed it on my external (non-root directory) hard-drive. This is the error message I get:C:Documents and settingsMY NAMELocal settingsTempRCV3.dat was not found. RC cannot continue. I know since it is not installed on my root directory that I will have to get a new key code to launch the updated 4.2 program, but I can't even get that far to update it in the first place. Any ideas?Chris Catalano

Folks,If you voted for RC4 in the Avsim poll I think you will have to do it again as they say they 'broke the database'.Rob.

Is there any way to add your own callsigns to RC?What I want is not there and I would like to change it at certain times to others that are not there either.

i'm not sure why the clearance is given in the order it is given. but it's been 6+ years like that, and you're the first person that noticed it. or at least spoke up. thankswhat is the msa of san juan? better question, what does rc think the msa is for san juan? that may be the reason you're not descended any lower.i'm surprised you had the problem with runway 10. i'd like to see it.can you do the followinglaunch rcclick debugload the .plnclick start rcfly the .pln, duplicate the problem, and send me the log file, zipped to [email protected], it would be very useful, if you save me a rcd file, before you contact approach. you can do that by pressing the ; key, and specify…

Hey all. I did a search but couldn't find anything on this. Last night while flying from Sarasota, FL to ATL I was getting this strange beeping noise every few minutes. It sounded like when your on an older telephone and someone on the other end is pushing one of the keys. The only thing I did differently was check the "Debug" button before starting RC. Is that normal? Thanks.

This route is probably an unfair test of RC, since you do not claim to support DP & STAR procedures; however, it is an example of why you should. The common route is LOOP4.DAG.KEPC1 (LAXX5 sometimes instead of LOOP4). I should have turned off the DP option but forgot and had to find my way to the first fix (LAX VOR after a 180 from the departure). Next time, I'll remember. The small disappointment is center starting me down before I even get to DAG (over 120nm from LAS, and I'm only at FL290); where as real world traffic is kept high until past DAG and then cross MISEN at 24000. The big disappointment is approach giving me a vector 34nm out when KEPC1 is a perfectly go…

Maybe it's too soon for me to be proposing features for a product I've only used for a couple of days, but this is based on a solid IFR background as well as some familiarity with ATC procedures.I recommend that the controller preset's include a field for entering a valid fix name for departures and arrivals. The fix would be valid if it is included in the flightplan. One, two or no entries are allowed. Departures: If a fix is not provided in the proposed departure fix field in the controller's presets, then the logic remains the same. If a fix is provided, then the logic depends on if it is the first fix of the flight plan. If the named fix is the first fix in the flight…

JD,In the non US environment when being vectored for an IAP, RC controllers use the phrase 'FLY HEADING ...' exclusively. I have on occasion been given a heading that is basically the reciprocal of the heading I am currently flying. This then brings up the question of which way will I turn? Mostly this is obvious from the ND and a pilots situational awareness. However in the RW it means the controller has no control over which way the aircraft turns, left or right. My experience (Australia) has been that 'FLY HEADING ...' is only used to get an aircraft to take up a heading that approximates its current direction of flight and the ATC does not know actual eading the aircr…

Hi. Just updated to version 4.2 but cannot find what path to select for the .flt/.wx files as mentioned in the updating procedure. Where are they likely to be? I have my FS files on my D drive not the default C drive.Sorry if this is a dumb question, it is the early hours of the morning here in the UK! *:-* CheersAndy S

Hey all. Last night I flew the PMDG 737-800 from ATL to DCA. DCA has and LDA approach for RWY 19. RC told me to expect vectors to RWY 19....they didn't mention they were giving me an approach. FS 2004 has the LDA and for anyone that doesn't know, and LDA is like a localizer approach except that the localizer is slanted up to I believe 30 degress from the end of the RWY. In RL they use the LDA to 19 because a straight in approach would pass over the White House which is Prohibited airspace. Anyway, RC set me up with vectors to intercept as if it was a straight in approach. After the controller cleared me for the approach I had to make a huge right turn so I could intercept…

The other day, while flying into Honolulu Int'l (PHNL) I requested a different runway from that given by the approach controller which was granted. However, while I was descending on late finals, reaching DH I saw coming along the runway towards me on a take-off run a heavy (767 or similar)! Luckily he rotated well before my t/down point and cleared me by about 200ft but why was I cleared to land on the opposite end of what was clearly the active? A full FAA investigation has been started! ;-) Iain

Just wondering...recently updated Fsnav to airac 606 from Navdata site and noticed Radar Contact 3x on the list. Had a look around the Data folder in Rcv4 and came across an entry with airac 0408. What's to go here? Are we supposed to update these as they come along or doesn't Rcv4 use them?

I have the ADVDISP window docked where I want it. The only text that comes up in the windo is ATIS info, everything else comes up in a box like the default ATC. Any ideas?

Here's something that I'd like to see, if at all possible, on a future version (V5?) but it would be a very small enhancement.I sometimes fly between airports within the USA and in those cases I select voices for pilots and controllers which are all American. But when I fly in the UK or UK and Europe I don't want American voices so I untick those and select the ones I do want.Would it be possible to save those selections? This would mean I could just select my "American" voice set or my "UK only" voice set or my "UK and Europe" voice set. Just a thought!Iain

Ok, I was flying into KSAN on ILS27. Shortly I noticed there was no glidescope and declared a missed approach. RC vectored me to 305 and then never said anything again. About 40 miles away I re-vectored myself, nd did an ILS landing on 9, almost hitting several planes on the way in.Did I do something wrong? Then after landing RC said FSDO would be put out of business while a 777 drove through me and 13 passengers were killed.

once and for all, the interpretation of "resume own navigation" will be put to rest. instead of saying "resume own navigation" you will be "cleared direct xyz then as filedinstalled 4.2 but still got told to resume own navigation, this was with a flightplan created with 4.1, maybe a new flightplan created with 4.2 may give me cleared direct. jim

I received the RCV4 CD this morning, loaded and sent the registration email... got the reponse with key and update instructions. So far so good except no where in the sequence I followed did I find an instruction to just replace exec's to update to 4.2 (sorry if it was there, I missed it). That's the first observation, and it is minor since it only kept me sidestepped about 2 min.Second observation: My first flight is KCRP-KHOU, which is filed simply as CRP.LISSE6 STAR since the CRP VOR is one of the transitions for the arrival. This becomes very unrealistic using RC since it assumes anytime there is a fix within 30nm of origination that there is a departure procedure, a…

I seem to recall you guys were working on a 4.1 update or patch? Is there any news? Also, is the issue of conflicting AI aircraft in the sky, the AI aircraft being froze at 6 kts being fixed? Thanks
