Hi anyone who uses WideFSAfter making a huge upgrade with my equip (AMD Athlon 64 X2 +4400 dual core / 2GB DDR RAM / 3 HDs in SATA / Asus NVidia GeForce 7900GTX) I still have my old pc (P4 3,0GHz HT / 1GB DDR RAM / 2 HDs in PATA / Radeon 9800XT).Would like to use WideFS to low the burden in the main (FS9) pc. So I'd like to know if I can let FS alone in the main pc and put RC & ASv6 in the 2nd pc.Plus some instructions how to use RC & ASv6 in this 2nd PC (the keyboard to use in RC and the sound will come from the 2nd pc?)ThanksEduardo:-zhelp

Hi all together!I want to write a review on RCV4 for the FS MAGAZIN - using the MCP737 made by CPFlight www.cpflight.com. With them working both together I'm facing the following problem:Using the V/S-wheel with Radar Contact Version 4 (latest rcv4.exe) respective AdvDisp trying to change the V/S it will work only in decreasing-mode and (!) it confuses the AdvDisp-window till getting a complete malfunction. After first attempt to change V/S I can no longer interact with RCV4.A before as well seen problem concerning the heading-knob (here as well only the decrease-Funticon was left over) could be solved by John Dekker. Do you remember when we used adventure display boxes with FSUIP we could change text colours, make transparent, match background etc? Well then we got fsuip version 3.70 & it used its own box, not the Adv/Display box if you see what i mean? So now i get red text messages which i cannot always read & i would like to do what i used to do before, but still retain. this new box. I hope this is clear but to put it as clear as i can, 'I want to use fsuip 3.70 with its text box, but!! adjust colours etc. Any ideas please? I have tried right clicking on the box but no go.CheersRod H

Hi.Trying to get the hang of using the FMC with RCv4 for descents. When RCv4 uses the point 40nm from destination for crossing restrictions (FL120/FL110), is the point 40nm from destination along the flight plan or ijust 40nm from destination "as the crow flies"? I am still having trouble with this feature. One is flying basically a straight line track from A to B with a number of way points in between. RC says that the default airway width tolerance is +- 4 nm. Now for some reason the FMC plan doesn't have one of the RC plan waypoints and the aircraft is say .1 nm to the left of it. RC ATC comes up and tells you you are off the airway, make a 180 and go over the missed waypoint, then resume own navigation. At 450 kts at jet levels and 20 degrees of bank the turn radius will be over 7 nm. This will take the aircraft well outside the track tolerances and the possibility of meeting someone head on at the same level. Add to this the …

Hello.I poseted awhile back on errors associated with V4.2 crashing after upgrading from version 4.0.3737 and it was determined (or suspected) that my Silent Pilot! WAVs were at fault.I am still using version 4.0.3737 so that I can continue to use the Silent Pilot! WAV set (which allows me to respond to ATC in my own voice).So, have a new set of silent WAVs been created for use with the newer version 4.2?If so, where can I download them? I would like to use the newer version of RC4, but not until I can uses the set of silent pilot wavs, like I have in the past.Thanks for your help!Scott :-)

When I save a flight to be resumed at a later time, I have no problem continuing the saved flight at the exact spot. ADV Disp window docks but does not display any info and ATC doesn't function. I have 4.2 version and FSUIPC 3.65. Running Windows XP Pro.Anyone have an idea of why the ADV Disp won't display any info?Mike

I have noticed a few times that ATC commands with RC4 are not synchrinised fully with the AI traffic being commanded.On taxiing to runway for takeoff, I noticed an aircraft land on the runway. Immediately afterwards I heard that aircraft call up (on RC4) as being 2 miles final and given landing clearance!! There were no other aircraft on approach, or other than myself, anywhere near the runway.Although slightly less of a problem, I have also seen this happen when aircraft requests taxi clearance after it has left the gate.

Hi, I just receive my radar contact cd, and install it with all patch available. my problem is about my product key, yesterday and today I try several time to send by mail all information for registration, but all my mail return me. of course I try all e-mail adress of radar contact without succes. Sorry if this is covered, I searched and couldnt locate anything on it. When I have my plan loaded, the first letter of waypoint is missing.eg. YBBN SID LAV H62 CORKY H39 BOREE STAR YSSY - during this flight CORKY will be displayed as ORKY and BOREE as OREE. Not a major problem and hopefully a simple fix.Cheers

I was making a landing at Rome in the LDS767. I could see that both Gs LOC was captured and AUTOLAND annunciator was lit (and I successfully did land). What then made RC to tell me to go around?Initially there was a plane in front of me but it climbed away and after that no plane in front of me. Also initially I came in a little to fast but I engaged the speedbrake and could then reach landing parameters.

jd,I could not duplicate the problems (permission to AI A/C to line up while I take off and missing a check or intersection point).But I did catch a similar problem:Heading to the top of the RW 06, control did give permission to another AI A/C to land. As I arrive at the top of the RW I execute an U-turn getting off the RW to turn on the apron specially designed for that. While doing this the AI A/C lands. I get back on the RW and line up and get the green light from RCV4. I send you by seperate e-mail the log file if you are interested.Should I do the U-turn as much as possible on the RWY ?

Hello,the RC4.pdf manual (Ground topic on page 61) is ambiguous about this topic "... select "Flight Critique". Why not listen to how you have done..." On page 114 it says that if you select "Display Text" in the General Options form, only messages form the controllers will be displayed.It will be nice, for hearing impaired and non native English speakers, to have the possibility of read a written log of the "Flight Critique" in order to improve our flying knowledge correcting our mistakes.

After installing the 4.2 update, I cannot get any of the voices to change. Whatever they were on before the update is where they stay. Downloaded and installed a voice set, see it on the voice selection screen, check it click save and still no change. Ideas?Thanks,Joe

JD,I have just completed a number of legs in Europe (PMDG B737) to airports where due to terrain the localiser is offset from the runway centreline. This results in vectors for intercept being given by RC that will never intercept anywhere near IAF. An extreme case was Reggio Calabria (LICR) using the RWY 33 LOC/DME. Localiser course 017 and runway heading 331, or a difference of 46 degrees. Inbound from the NE my intercept heading was never going to get me onto the localiser. There are obviously many of these approaches in Europe at least, Genoa, Innsbruk, Sion are some more, and I understand that getting this information and coding it is a big job. Am also using Fsuipc 3.70Downloaded and tried to install the 4.2 update, however as soon as it begins it gives a long address line that ends with: RCV3.dat not found. Also noticed that when I open Radar Contact in the program list, I see both 4.0 and 4.01. Any ideas why this update won't install?Thanks for the help,Joe

JD, I doubt this is anything but a misread, but everytime I run my Pest Patrol anti-spyware software on my RC4 installation, it tells me that two files in my RCV4 folder are "trojan horse" spyware. The two files mentioned are "unins000.exe" and "unins001.exe" It even mentions the vendor or pest as "WorldAntiSpy". I've never experienced any software or hardward problems resultant, but I'd thought I would mention it. I know that some legitimate and good software files are falsely identified as spyware and sometimes viruses! Randy Jura, KPDX

HiI did a flight plan with Fsbuild.Cruise flight level 370 (37,000').This altitude did appear in the .APL plan in the radar contact folder but was not transferred into the controllers pages' CRZ ALT window.The plan itself did transfer ok.Why doesn't RC also pull the CRZ ALT from the plan into the controllers page and also display the altitude for this flight in the flight plan text window at the top of the page?Best Regards,Vaughan Martell

Yes JD,My widow will sue you. At Aberdeen (EGPH) RC tells me to line up for take off on RWY 24. To get there I must get on the RWY at about 2/3 of its length then get at the beginning of rwy 24, make a U turn. While doing the U-turn RC gives authorization to another A/C to line up at rwy 24. Then while the other a/c enters the rw RC tells me to take off. Imagine what happens: BANG ! I am dead. And the other plane also.This requests an urgent update before other people die.If I can finally take off I pass each intersection displayed on the flight plan (I checked this very carefully because it is not the first time I have this error on this flight EGPH to EGAA). Hi guys,I know it's been touched on before in here, but since updating to 4.2, I've heard a lot less AI traffic chatter than I had previously. Then one evening while lining up for takeoff at KPHX, I found that the AI was rolling right onto the active without being cleared and taking off...then being told by RC to contact departure. Not only that, but despite three different aircraft taking off, all used the same callsign. Very odd behaviour. I finally managed to slip into a spot while another aircraft was still taxiing onto the runway and squeeze into the line...otherwise I would've had to wait for another couple of aircraft to turn in before I could take off safely.T…
