Hello:While flying from KORD to EDDF today I noticed that most of the controllers in the states had a UK accent while crossing over the pond most of the controllers had accents from the US.Is there some reason for this?TIA

I have used a few different drivers and I am now using from 3D Guru the NGO optomized driver 84.56.What I have done so far is disabled the AA and AF in the Nvidia CP and activated the AA in the FS.How can I resolve this either with some other driver or a known fix. Hi All,Having run RC4 perfectly since it was released, I now have a problem when I start the program. A text box appears saying it is "configuring Smartsound Quicktracks Plugin". This fails and a new box appears stating "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable".If I cancel these boxes twice RC4 then loads and runs perfectly.I have Smartsound installed on my PC (i.e. I have a folder with this name and it contains a subfolder called quicktracks which in turn contains various *.dll's.Has anyone any thoughts please?

Radar Contact is a fantastic product, indeed. I am really happy with it, so happy that I venture to offer a suggestion to improve it in the future: :)I understand the limitations of such a basic artificial intelligence endeavour, but to increase realism you must in future versions include the ability to assign controllers to regions (and pilots to airlines, but that's less important). The current implementation offers pilot and controller voices which have a tendency to mispronounce every single place name not located in the US. It is asking a bit much, I know, but the fact that many places are not even recognizable by sound means that this

Just installed radar contact v4 from the CD. Trying to launch via "Launch Radar Contact 4" from the start menu, or by double clicking the program directly doesn't work - the program doesn't start. Watching via Process Explorer, the program starts and then exits almost immediately.

Instead of a new set being added on?Greg

Hi! I've just done a very successful flight from LKPR to EGCN but one thing struck me. I was running online Active Sky, and approaching EGCN was given vectors to R20. As I live around the corner from the airport I thought 'that doesn't look right' looked out of the window to check the wind direction, checked the wind arrow on my radar display and decided to ask for a visual into 02. Everything went fine from there on.As I came into land I saw that AI traffic taking off was also using 02. Mostly EGCN does use 20 for landing and 02 for T/O 'cause of noise procedures and that there is no ILS yet on 02, but today's tailwind would have made a 20 landing tricky to say the least…

Hello:If I'm flying on VATSIM and enter a no controller zone, can I start RC and have it pick up, knowing where I'm at, or will RC only work if you start it at the departure gate.TIA,Terry

After at last getting my computer back with reformatted hard drives, new M/B & video card i installed RCv4 got the registration window & sent off my e-mail for the regis key. I have now got this. But when i double click the RC icon, i get this message from windows;"Component COMDLG32. OCX is missing or incorrectly registered"I have done a search for this file but apparently its not in system 32 folder.Any ideas chaps?

Just downloaded the new file rcv4_60_190342.zip.Appears as if there is already a folder 60 in use, for Rick Thompson. Is this in error or by design? Don't want to over-write unless there is some possible good reason.Thx,Joe Lorenc

HiI just got radar contact and I am very impressed. I have been trying to add the additional voice sets but I cant seem to grasp how this is done. I have read the part in the manual and also the wording document that comes within the voice set files. I just dont get it. The instuctions may be clear to other people but not to me....I am a real novice here.....sorry. Can somebody explain simply how to do this. I downloaded 2 of the additional files and extracted the files into the 'winwood' directory but they do not show up in the voices section when I launch Radar Contact. Any help would be appreciated.Thank you.

The no speed restriction option on the controller menu is greyed out for US airspace. Is this true to life?Any info would be appreciated.TIA

HiI have just installed RC4.1 and as a complete Newbie I am trying to find my way around the program. Reading the "Adding your own chatter" section in the Docs it states that the RC main folder contains a file called Airspace. The problem is I don't seem to have this file present. I have also noticed that in the Winwoood folder, sub-folders 100 and 101 are missing. Also the pointer files such as $usa are blank when opened. Maybe all of this is all normal and my apologies if these are stupid questions which come from my current unfamiliarity with RC but I would welcome any advice from the experts.

Hi all. Took my first flight with RC last night. hmmm. The ATC voices are certainly jarring. I should have been prepared: I recall this controversy when the product first came out, and it is the reason I waited so long to purchase. I had assumed the issue was overblown, but clearly that is not the case. Definately an acquired taste. I didn't even install the optional pre-recorded chatter. That must be really something. I suppose if everything else blows me away, i can learn to live with them. Although I hope my teenager children don't overhear them, they sound like I'm playing with a child's toy (Speak n Spell). I will take some serious teasing! On to the concern…

Hi all,Fairly new to RC4.I have many AI airlines installed, I also use edit voice pack so it knows the correct airline names etc, how does it work with RC4? Will it give the correct names in ATC chatter? Is there anything I need to do?I had a look and on avsim you can download bits for RC4 with callsigns? IS this needed??ThanksMark

Sorry to bring this hoary old beast back on but I didn't want you guys to think that the problem had gone away. I was optimistic after installing FSUIPC 3.6 that it was virtually solved and totally acceptable. However, a few weeks of use has shown that sometimes it is tolerable but occasionally it completely spoils things. It is worse when on the ground, probably because I am closer to the scenery and a stutter shows up more. Yesterday for example while taxiing out to the runway, just before RC told me to contact tower I knew it was coming by the pause in my progress along the taxiway. It lasted just over a second. Hello,my friend reccomended the product to me saying how great it is... so I want to try it out, but there is no online download so I was wondering if I can just purchase a key? I already have a cd that I can use... I could just use his S/N to install it on my computer, but we need to give our support to JD for making this program, so I'd like to purchase the serial number :) is this possible? or am I gunna have to wait a week to get the cd so I can get a serial number :(thx guys!

what is really really cool about this version of fsuipc, you can dump advdisp, and use the new display functionality of fsuipc. fsuipc redirects the rc menus and dialogs to the window the FS ATC uses. transparent, frame friendly, sizable and moveable. is this available with the unregistered version of fsuipc thanks,jim
