I am new to RCv4.1 and have one problem I cannot resolve:The AdvDisp screen appears at the FS9 create a flight screen and I have at the moment FS9 minimised whilst I write this, but like Hamlet's ghost the AdvDisp screen is still apparent. When flying I receive all my ATC contact via a window titled FSUIPC and YES AdvDisp is still there albeit totally mute EXCEPT as follows:When cleared to line up and wait on RWY 09 R at EGLL an unwanted AI plane appears from nowhere and on the AdvDisp screen appears the message "Aircraft collision" whilst FSUIPC remains mute.Embarrasing, maybe but at least that doesn't normally happen in real life.So What can I do ?????Thanks in advance f…

First of all I'd like to publicly thank jd for coming up with a solution to the stutters problem.I have recently added a UK airport which is not a default FS one as it has only been operating for just over a year, Robin Hood Doncaster, UK, (EGCN). Scheduled services are operated by about half a dozen airlines.Having updated the scenery DB for both RC4 and FSNav I can now produce flight plans that use this airport. However, RC seems to treat it as an untowered airport. Clearance is from FSS and then I announce which runway I'm taxiing to and that I am taking off. Needless to say the real airport has a tower! Is there any way to change this in RC4?Iain

After I learned that the latest FSUIPC is able to replace ADVDISP I deactivated the ADV module in the FS module folder. Pete Dowson's new feature works reliably, however, I no longer get 2D-Panels as soon as I deactivate ADVDISP. I can't figure what might went wrong with my installation, but surprisingly the 2D panel appears when activating ADVDISP again. Very odd. Is that a known limitation?Thank you very much!Sam

  6. Flying into Seviila, Spain, LEZL from the ENE I was on approach ENE of IAF ROTEX. The published MEA here is 3000. I knew I was facing a steep descent and thought surrounding terrain might keep me artificially high after ROTEX.I requested an IAP while still ENE some miles of ROTEX. In granting this I received the clearance to perform the IAP (ILS RWY 27) which allows a published descent after ROTEX to 3000 descending to 2000 for steep GS capture. The problem is while still quite a bit ENE of ROTEX the IAP clearance granted an immediate descent to 2500 while still in a higher terrain area of 4800 (quad 48) as noted on the STAR. It seemed like this clearance to 2500 only on t…

  7. How does RC reconcile the differences between a .pln file with what's in the current AIRAC database? For example: If you create a flightplan (.pln) from Heathrow to Frankfurt using the FS9 flightplanner, some of the waypoints are either out of date or don't exist in the MS9 flightplanner world.I assume RC follows whatever is in the .pln file even if it doesn't agree with what's in the current AIRAC cycle.I suppose the differences are small enough to still be realistic, I'm just wondering how some of you other simmers handle this. Thanks in advance,SluggerP.S. Love RC.

HiWhere do you get the update? and how big the file is?This is in response to the following message I got from jd."i have a new build for you to test. you must have 4.01 (build 3737) installed. there are some other stuff in this build, the one gotcha will be on themain screen, you must click the .FLT/.WX button, and specify the pathwhere the .flt and .wx files are. jd"Stelios

My flight in a PMDG737 from KSNA to KOAK started by getting busted for not following my route. I left KSNA using a SID with GMN as thetransition which is also entry point for the STAR into KOAK. My firstwaypoint on the SID was SXC which I crossed heading 265 turning to 345 for LAX. When I turned to cross SXC I was told I was off course and to turn to 350. Confused I started checking the FMC and then RC.In the RC window KOAK was the only waypoint listed, before I could request direct to GMN which is the same heading as LAX I got busted again. I imported the flight plan from FS Nav and it loaded into Rc fine. After my request was granted the rest of the waypoints showed up …

I need to reinstall RCv4 and was wondering whether I would get the best results installing it on my new FS machine with a AMD dual core processor with 2MB RAM or install it on my old P4 1.7GHz laptop with 512MB RAM running WideFS?I ideally I could try it on both and see which one gives the best FS performance but I would have to send for two new keys and I'm trying to avoid that. I don't know if requesting multiple keys a problem or not.Can someone suggest to me on which machine I would likely get the best results? Any input would be most appreciated.Thank you.Ken

I've created a flight plan KGAI EMI DQO KPHL. Cessna 172 at 6,000. Flightplan exported from FS Navigator. Radar Contact V4.01. All's fine until I get about 6 miles from EMI on 210 degree radial. At that point, FS 2004 closes completely. No error messages. Radar Contact and ActiveSky 6.0 remain active. I've had this happen twice at aproximately the same point. I know from real-world flying that this is approximately the point where I receive a controller handoff from 128.7 to 125.52. Not sure if that is a factor or not.My computer is a new ABS M6 Viper with... AMD FX-60 dual core, 2 GForce 7900 GTX SLI, 2mb RAM, 2 Western Digital 150 mb, RAID 0.Any suggestions? …

Hi,I'm in the Dreamfleet Baron en route from Sofia (Bulgaria) to Makedonia (Greece), I'm told to cross 40 miles from TSL at 6,000 feet. I set NAV 2 to TSL, switch the DME to NAV2 and start descending - the DME shows I'm 67 miles away when I start my descent, ATC tells me I've busted my altitude when the DME is showing 42 miles from TSL (I was at 6,300 feet). If the Controller reports me to the FAA, I reckon I've got a case to say he called it too early, haven't I?SysA

HiJust bought an Asus A8N-SLI-Premium mb and the processor will be AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400 (would prefer a 4800 but had to give some priority) with an Asus GeForce7900GTX gd. Of course all this power is just for one reason.I started MSFS as hobby, but one wants bigger things, so I started to get some add-ons, to participate avsim foruns and suddenly I was really involved in becoming better. From RC3 to RC4, from FS weather to AS6. WHAT A HUGE STEP!!!In real life I'm a Trauma Surgeon. Now I use FS9 with RC4 & AS6 as what it really is: a Flight Simulator, not a game! Why this upgrade? Because I just don't want a low fps.But I'm wondering if I have done the right thing. Thi…

I'm a little confused on how stars work in RC. Did a search of the forum and it seems in RC a star ends when you contact approach. However I have real life ATC wavs from Australian airspace where the approach controller says something like "cancel star fly heading xyz" implying that a star doesn't necessarily end when you contact approach. Also in the LDS 767 FMC you can't select your arrival procedure until you are about halfway through your flight so a star can never be part of your filed flightplan how does RC cope with this?.ThanksBruceb

Hi guys,I filed for FL 350. I notice that after I hvae hit OK and gone back to check controller info it has changed to 35010.I then get lashed for busting my alt. Im using PM software with CP flight hardware, it only increments in 100 foot segments. 1013 0n all altimeters. I even tried slightly adjusting the QNH to get the 10 feet to keep ATC happy.Any ideas.James[link:www.oncourse-software.co.uk]http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk/forum_images/fdc_supporter.jpg

Greets. As I've said before, outstanding product. However, as with all complex addons, sometimes something goes awry and the simmer must deal with it.I fly with RC4 all the time and put significant flying hours into the sim with it. Once in a great while, I have to close RC4 for one reason or another; for instance, yesterday, the Co-Pilot and controller got in a "loop" of communication over being "off course" and I couldn't get control of communications in order to do a "Dir Wpt" command. This might have been due to the system I run RC4 on via WideFS; it's an older machine and -- when running ActiveSky6, FS Flight Keeper, WinAmp for live chatter and RC4, something's got…

Nicely in the cruise at 280 EGLL to EGPF Mach 0.78. " Call scottish control on......" Called scottish control as requested and received the instruction, "Descend to flight level 11000, start down now please I need you level in thirty miles or less,on reaching reduce speed to 250 knots or less." As you can appreciate trying to get down to 11000 in that distance was a bit of a problem, I didnt make it even using a descent rate of 3500 per minute. My question is, why no step descent, why suddenly down to 110, I have not had this happen before.x(
