Last night,I was flying from Newark to Boston. Everything seems to be going fine when all of a sudden, the controller says " for the third time, go heading 125" or something to that effect. I know I'm not deaf. It was the first time I was told to take that heading. Any ideas?

I have noted the last couple of days, including myself, that there have been some discussion of the long hesitation between communication. Has there been any offering of help or support for that yet?Paul

The update to 4.01 seems to have been okay, except that the version number was not changed from 4.0.3737 (or whatever) in either the start-up screen or the menu screen.Shouldn't the new version 4.01 be displayed?keith

... i'll reinstall v.4 from scratch!v4.01 gives me several menu errors and pilot auto ack.what will i miss, given that my voice speed is ok also in v.4?one question:i read that RCv.4 checks FS9 landing rwy and gives me clearance accordingly; does this mean also i.e. Rwy32L for 32R? This is what i noticed today at WMKK when FS9 and RCv.4 choose different rwy'sthanks for helpingLuigi ;-)

in all liklihood you have your voice sliders set to the far right. they should be set to the far leftthe far right means add 5 wav files, consisting of .05 seconds of white noise between every word or phrase.so if the clearance i'm about to say is 10 words/phrases, i have to piece together 60 wavs. a lot more processing power is necessary to do 60 wavs, as opposed to 10 (when the sliders are to the far left, there are no white noise wavs inserted between wavs/phrases)jd

Is there a way to speed up the voices?IE faster instructions.I posted this same question 3/04 for RC3 and there was a solution:%comspec% /C start /ABOVENORMAL C:Progra~1rcv30rcv3.exe.Is this possible in RC4?If so how do I do it?I don't remember how I did it in RC3,but it worked.Win XP Pro.Thanks,Ron

Hello there,Everytime I try and import a flight plan from FS i get this:"Runtime error '713':Class not registered.You need the following file to be installed on you machine.MSSTDFMT.dll"I checked to see if i have it... didn't have it but installed it from the internet.But still i get the error.Any suggestions?ThanksVincent

I applied the 4.01 update, but now when I execute I get an error #62 - radarcontact 4cv module. read call_signs - and it stops loading.Have you seen this before?Terry

Hi Guys,I'm not sure that I have seen this posted anywhere. Flying the PMDG737-800 I have noticed that when I turn on the landing lights the adv display clears, and then only flashes up the next "update" for a few milliseconds! It returns to normal when I switch the landing lights off.Any thoughts anyone?Roger

1.I flew a couple flights today and there is a time delay problem of 10-15 second delay between Otto and the controller and controller and Otto. It seems so slow between giving a command to Otto and Otto answering or visa versa2.There is also I bug delay when I give the com or plane to Otto. There was a 20-30 sec delay. 3.I have a big Frame rate drop since upgrading to 4.01Inclusion everyting felt choppy and slow.How do the sliders effect voices and which was is up and down.

Do I need to install the this 4.01 update because it seems the version that came on my CD is 4.03675?(By the way no one told me that this update was available; what do you have to do to be part of the inner circle and get informed of updates? I'm just getting to the update, when I get to the installer I point it where there RC4 stuff is already. Everyhting seems to install ok, but I get two different programs files one "Radar Contact 4" and the other "Radar Contact 4.1" If I click on 4.1 I get the it is missing the ".dat" file.Any ideas?? EDIT: Disregard, got it going. :)

Hi allI don't know if somebody already wrote about this. I know poeple are often looking for good ATC prerecorded chatter files. Now just create the of your own, even if you don't have a scanner. Its very easy!That's how I do it:go to www.liveatc.net, there you'll find I think over a 100 live-feeds of dep, app, twr, gnd frequencies from around the world.Now the cool thing is, you'll also find an archive for every feed. So you can choose a date up to 10 day back, select a time-range and download a mp3-file of 30 minutes of ATC-feed for the given frequency and time. Now you just have to convert the mp3 to wav with any converting tool, split the file (ok, you have to listen …

I'm sur I'll get it to work sometime but 2 hours trying is enough for tonight!!I follow all the instructions for creating the flp in FS Build - the plan appears because I get the message that the plan has been successfully created - however - when I go to start RC4 there is no sign of the flight plan. This is very exasperating but if anyone can help that would be great - if not it's another 2 hours tomorrow night!!KFD

A couple of odd things have been happening since I updated to 4.01. First thing is that after getting clearance I get told "read back correct" before the read back has even begun. The next thing is that I can no longer hear the approach ATC voices. If it were not for my co pilot repeating everything back I would not know what my instructions had been. Basically I have no more ATC Voices once I'm passed off to approach because even my clearance to land is repeated by my copilot without my ever having heard it given. I've checked my voices set up several times and it all appears to be in order... but something is amiss. Any ideas?William Shedd

JD,I downloaded the 4.01 upgrade and installed it (no key requested).The RCV4 folder shows rcv4.exe created on 12/16/2005, updated 1/27/2006.The PDF installation document in the RCV4 folder created 12/16/2005 modified 1/20/2006 shows rcv401.When I load RCV4 the main panel says Radar Contact Version 4.0.3737.I am puzzled. Did the download & installation worked correctly ?When installing I didn't notice any strange or error message.

Is there a specific place where flight plans should be saved? I know that flight plans generated with FS are supposed to be saved in "Flight Simulator Files". The tutorials that come with RC4 are automatically put in FS9 "My Flts" folder, not "FS Files". After I downloaded 4.01 and go through flight planning, starting FS, then RC4, I get the error that says "Unable to write to FS Filesto ---- - Will not save .RCD Files". (I posted this problem earlier). I have changed the flight plan storage folder to both of the above mentioned places but still have the problem. hey,is there some installation documentation somewhere for installing the update. I think my install went bad. I was asked to email for a new key..is this correct?Basically I just want to know what folder to install the update to. Is it ok to install to a new folder or should it just go to the root folder where RC is installed?Many thanksAlan

I have installed RC401 and the screens appear ok. I have rebuilt the scenery db and checked for updates. When I have loaded a flight plan and called for start I am told that it can't save .RCD files in an incorrect folder. The program is trying to use the computer's network name rather than C:/. I can't find an .ini file to correct this.Furthermore although the ADVDISPLAY screen shows first the TL's and then CD and WX,on depressing the correct key i.e. 2 for WX all I get is a bong.What is the correct action to take.David.
