I'm posting this in both the HiFi Sim forum and the Radar Contact forum because I don't know which is causing my problem.I live in Sacramento and every time I try to fly around the Sacramento and Northern California area I get absolutely impossible altimeter settings, below 27.00.I receive the altimeter setting from Radar Contact but as I understand it RC is getting the info from ActiveX. When I press the "B" key to auto-reset the altimeter it tries to reset to the given setting but cannot go below 27.00. I get altimeter settings given as low as 26.78 and even 25.75. Hi allI have a few questions. The first question is about busted altitude. I have been flying in Australia lately for a virtual airline. During flights back and forth between Melbourne and Sydney this particular altitude problem has come up about 50% of the time. During descent when I am cleared to altitudes in the 15,000 to 12,000 foot range, after leveling off at that altitude I receive repeated messages to maintain that particular altitude combined with messages indicating the correct Q and H. Hi Graham,I just downloaded and installed your British airport and callsigns update from the avsim file library. Everything seems to work fine, only when I select First Choice Airways from the rc4 setup menu, it is automatically linked to the First Cambodia callsign. Do you know what could be the cause of this? I checked the c4-data folder and everything seemed to be ok.Thanks in advance,Stroman

Hi,I have had to reinstall RC on my second PC and am using Widefs to communicate to FS9. Widefs connects fine but when I run RC4 I get the ADV display box come up on the screen as per normal on the main FS machine. However, when I hit 1 or 2 for Clearance as I would normally do, there is no voice transmitted from the Widefs machine. The display flickers on the main PC very quickly an returns to the CD prompt again.Can anyone help please.ThanksKeith

Hya all,I just wanted to say a big thanks to JD for his support recently when I couldnt get RC to run after a reinstall - which turned out to be my own fault for leaving off the minus figure in front of the product ID ! I save files by pressing Ctrl + Shift + ; and it says in my RC window that it is saved with a long saving name as described in the RC PDF file. However when I open the RC and try to opened my file it is empty. There is nothing showing that it is save even if I can see it in my FS9 saved file. Conclusion I can't retrieved my RC file. I read the PDF file but can't find the problem. Can anyone help me please?Thank youAl

I am flying the PMDG 747. The route is KSJC to KRNO. I program the FMC, selecting the LOUPE departure, selecting runway 30L. The plane climbs out on a heading of 303 degrees, then starts the turn to 120 degrees. So far so good. The FMC, on the LEGS page, shows me the word VECTORS. Now what I expect is for Radar contact to give me vectors back to the San Jose VOR. But I never receive any vector information. Perhaps I am not understanding what Radar Contact expects when the FMC shows vectors?Jim

Currently running RC v4.2.3831 on FS9.Previously, when cleared for descent, there was an option 3 - PD beneath the 7 - acknowledge, but after a recent FS reinstall, it's no longer there.You can still press 3 to request descent at pilots discretion, although I seem to be told no on the last few flights. I don't know if this is just a coincidence.Is v4.2.3831 the highest possible version for FS9 users, before the FSX patch was released?

I just purchase Radar Contact version 4.3.3845 on CD. 1. Do I have the last upgrate? 2. I check in Faq and it says to go to http://www.jdtllc.com/V3/web/faqs.htm for upgrate but this page do not opened. 3. In the RC4 pdf it says that under Module I should have ADV display and I don't have that. Also it says that on first page after open RC4 under utility I should have Check for update and I don't have that.The rest work perfectly.Can anyone help me with my questions?Thanks a lot.Al

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help?I've had RC for a while now but not been able to use it for some time. I had a computer crash and had to reinstall everything, but when I receive my key and paste it in nothing happens. RC just disappears, and when I start FS I have adv disp but no text there at all. Am I ding something wrong or is there something else I need to do?ThanksTim

Just did a long flight from YSSY to SCCI in PMDG 747First RC cleared me for takeoff after position and hold. to my horror as I accellerated down the runway a AI taxied right across the runway too late crash.Next after a reset on approach to SCCI I was told to descent from FL170 to FL110 and slow to 250kts. I did so and rechecked the altimeter. At that point I started getting continuos "Maintain FL110" calls and got a Busted altitude warning when I reached about FL114. I kept checking the altimeter and it was set correctly. Next I was vectored over the airfield and off to nowhere still getting the "maintain FL110" call from ATC. Hi,will you include in the next version center names that are more up to date? For example RC says contact Munich Control instead of Munich Radar. Furthermore, it is called Switzerland control instead of Swiss Radar / Control.I assume that it will not be possible to edit the scripted names e.g. from Munich Control into Munich Radar so that RC recognizes the changes, right?The only "radar" I found was from Warsaw.Thanks,regards,Axel.

I ran the "Rebuild scenery DB" on April 17, 2008. Went to run it tonight and got the dreaded "Runtime error '6' overflow". I downloaded and copied the latest MAKERWYS from Pete Dowson's site (v4.27). I copied it to the FS9(root directory). I believe that is the procedure. So it should work, shouldn't it? When I ran it in the FS9 directory itself it worked OK. But doesn't seem to want to run within RC4.3. Any ideas please? It's puzzling how it can work in April and not now. Do I have to run it in FS9 and then manually copy the files over to the RC4 data folder. Seems tedious but if that's the only way for me to do it? Note: I have version 4.3 running on FS9. Is that …

John,Love RC ever since it came out and have been a huge supporter since day one. I recently purchased X-Plane 9.0 and am definitely impressed with it over FSX. I have read that there is no support for X-Plane but am curious if you think there ever will be? The one thing that is very poor in X-Plane is the ATC while everything else is fantastic.ThanksTony

Gents,With runways using a number of different entry points, does RC recognise all of them if the data base builder has been run? In other words, can I use an intersection departure or will I wait forever for the clearance? What about CatIII holding in low visibility? If not close enough to the runway centre line (which would be the case holding at the catIII point) I understand that RC would not recognise that I was ready for departure?ThanksAndy

Have recently installed RCv4.3 and after some difficulties (Vista64!!!) managed to make the program run.Now have "Run time error 75. Radar Contact.fsuipc.rcv4" message.Any help would be appreciated.Running Vista64 with FS9.FSUIPC.dll v3.75 installed in FS9Modules.Have the RC window displayed with numbers to contact Clearance and WX briefing. Have heard the WX brief but it keeps going round in a loop - won't stop - and unable to contact Clearance.At this point, the error message appears. Hi All,I have one problem....when I'm told to increase altitude from say 7000 to 10,000 feet, I can only go up at around 500ft/min.......now after around 60 seconds the geezer starts to harrang me......clearly it's gonna take me more than 5 minutes to get to within 500ft of my assigned - should this be adjusted a little - it knows I'm in a prop.....just a suggestion for next version.Read the manual and followed the tutorials - wish I'd done it earlier. Yesterday I installed and registered a CD copy of RG 4.3. The sample flights did not install in the flights folder. I manually installed them. After the install, it has been very difficult or impossible to start aircraft with Ctrl-E or be started manually. My FSUIPC is version 3.75. I uninstalled RC and reinstalled the FSUIPC but the situation still remains the same. Any suggestions? I have downloaded the FSUIPC version 3.8.1. Should I install it and reinstall the RC. By the way, I am running FS9 sp1. Is it possible I need to delete some config file? Note I am a rather new user of FS9.Thanks for your help.Dick

Hi last night I planned a flight with Easyjet from EGSS to LPPT. I selected Eastjet as the callsign in Radar Contact. But on contacting clearance I was being called Europa. I double checked I had picked the correct airline Easyjet but for an unknown reason RC4 had Europa down as the callsign for Easyjet. I opened up the C4.csv file in the data folder with word pad and there was Easyjet callsing Europa. I changed the Europa back to EASY and reloaded RC4 and was back to normal. Easjey was now known and called Easy. My previous flight was a Air Europa flight from LPPT to GCTS. Any Idea why this may have happened?

I've installed RC, loaded my 1st flight plan and I see the RC window when the flight is loaded; but it won't accept my keyboard inputs. I'm sure I'm just doing something wrong but I've read and re-read the installation portion of the manual and can't find what I'm missing. I tried using the default RC keyboard mapping and when I hit the keys I get no response from RC. I added a shift to the default commands but I still get no response from RC. Hi, I just installed a new copy of 4.3 on a vista machine. I followed all the steps and made sure I started everything as Administrator.I paste my key in the block and then click on the box that says "click here after you paste your key above" RC closes and when I reopen it it just comes right back to the Registration screen. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times but cant get past this. I get no errors when during the install but just wont run. If anybody has any ideas I would thank you.Thanks, Randy

I've had RC4.3 for FSX since it was officially released. I was flying a short trip IFR in the UK and for the very first time this evening and once the night before, I was given a second Squawk code about half way or more into my journey. Is that supposed to happen? I was taken by surprise when half way or more in to my flight, the Controller acknowledged me on a handover and proceeded by giving me another Squawk code. I thought your Squawk code, given to you by CD at the departure airport was your identification number for the whole trip.
