Hi,Does Radar contact currently have (or do you have plans to add for v5) different voices for different parts of the world and different airlines. E.g would a British Airways pilot have an English accent and would an American Airlines pilot an American one?thanks

I am unable to ask for IFR clearance from CD when attempting to begin my flight from KJFK to KBOS. I am parked at the gate with the RC window open and 2 options available to me, ATIS and CD, as expected. The first odd thing that is happening is that the radios are not automatically tuning to the appropriate frequencies even though I have the "autotune on contact" feature selected in the "general" options menu. So I manually tune my radio to the ATIS frequency, press the "2" button, and get ATIS... great! I listen to ATIS, adjust my altimeter, dial in the CD frequency, press the "1" key... and nothing. I am cleary not asking for my clearance... but I want to be of cou…

The default FSX ATC it is ridicolous then I tried RC 4.3 out on FSX Deluxe SP2.Well, despiting it is better in terms of realism and precision it has the same catastrofic issue of FS ATC : Approaches. Like default ATC it completely ignores your FP and during an IFR approach it fires you here and there , of course several nm away from the choosen runway and it let you experience Shuttle climbings and Tomahawk falls without following your FP. It also force you to turn like a snake just to lead you far over the runway. I also suspect someone in the tower smiles seeing the scene.I imagine RC is fed by FS ATC cause it behaves the same.Question : is it so difficult to get a grip…

I recently had a system crash and needed to restore Vista (32 bit version).I try to run Radar Contact and get the error message "Component 'MSCOMCT.ocx' or one of its dependencies is missing or invalid." The file is present in C:windowssystem32 and I have used regsrvr32 as suggested elsewhere in this forum.However, it Radar Contact still gives the same message.I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling RC.All suggestions welcomed.Thanks.

Now that AdvDisplay has been replaced by a new display, how do you change the text colours/background colours as you could befor?

After struggling with my old PC and its increasing quirks I finally broke down and built a new machine this weekend! I have a couple of RC reinstall questions. 1) Do I need to do anything such as a license transfer before I reinstall FS on my new CPU? Or should I just send an e-mail for a new reg code?2) I now have a machine powerful enough CPU to run FSX, is it possible to run RC for both 9 & X?Thanks in advance,John

Hi,I have just re-installed Radar Contact V.4.3, however I am getting Run Time error 713 - Class not registered You need the following file to be installed on your machine, MSSTDFMT.DLL I then try and Rebuild the Scenery Database, I get the following RC rebuilding r4.csb, running MarkRwys.exe when I click ok i get Run-time error 75 Path/File Access error. The ai traffic has been behaving badly, and it ain't getting beter.I have ultimate Traffic running with fs9.1.UT parameters are set at 100%, as I want realism.Approaches are becoming a nightmare. I don't want to point the finger at RC; rather, my suspicion is that UT is getting corrupted.Exaple. I have almost ridiculus problem... Namely, when I load flight plan (created in fs9 so .pln) in RC it works just fine.But I have a problem when I try to (depart / arrive) to Belgrade (Serbia) airport ICAO: LYBE. When I create flight plan with this airport and load it to RC, it just ignore LYBE menaing there are all the waypoint in between for example Munich and Belgrade but no LYBE (Belgrade). When I try to run the RC sample voices in Voice Option, I could only hear trashy broken voice, like maybe real world radio chatter, but even worst, which is totally not understandable. But when I try the pre recorded chatter, the sample sounds normal.I did compare with clips on youtube, and the voice sounds normal in the clip, so I was wonder if there is something wrong with my sound setting?My sound is MSI P35 Neo3 onboard Realtek ALC888 sound chip, I tried install the newest driver but no change. Will it be better if I go buy a new sound card and change to it?Thanks for the help!!

Ok, I know I've seen this somewhere before. Can you explain the difference? Right now I've got this controller chattering away at me to watch my altitude... assigned is FL70 and I'm at 7000ft. My QNH is set correctly and still there's a never ending warning about my altitude. It's a cardinal sin but I've chosen to simply ignore this guy.I searched the manual and can't find any reference to the difference.

I've got two problems. 1. I cannot get FSS to respond to me. I was flying from Truro, Cornwall to Cork, Ireland and my RC (4.3.3845) had two selections for me. 2-FSS WX and 4-CLR by FSS. Pushing 2 or 4 did nothing at all. RC works fine when I'm sitting on a field with a tower. But go to a small field and FSS doesn't work. Any ideas?2. Also, when flying from small fields the fly-to-points don't sequence. When I arrived at LND (for example) it doesn't shift to the next FTP. I repeatedly fly directly over LND and still RC doesn't shift to the next point. Is there a way to force RC to the next FTP? Thanks,

OK, stupid question, but how do you know which SID and STAR ATC will want you to fly in advance of actually flying?I have, until recently, been using fs's built in ATC, and now I'm using RC, it's making me work a bit harder (which I guess is the point). I've never built either a SID or a STAR into a flight plan because I've always thought FS wouldn't deal with it very well, hence my final checkpoint is way out from the destination. Anyway, I keep getting vectored away from the airport with a message something to do with 'restrictions'. I have followed the ATC instructions to the letter, and when I get this message they turn me away, and there are times when they just s…

Greetings,I am curious if RC will eventually contain support for the airport specific DP that is vector driven. For example, the Westchester One Rwy 16 at KHPN requires a series of Alt, Speed and Hdg criteria before being handed over to Dep Cntl for vectors to the first filed fix. In fact, most airports (at least the large ones in the US) are vector DPs, with similar requirements as the example at HPN. I realize that it is difficult to import all airport specific DPs into the RC4 database in intelligent fashion, but perhaps there is an easier solution? Maybe the user could open up a tab and type the "special" vector DP into an editable departure airport field? Thank …

I load some oceanic point in my radar contact like N43W170 and it work fine and load fine except that the ATC alway tell me 601 heavy turn 355 until resume own navigation every 20 second. How can I fixe that?ThanksAl

In the next version of RC may I suggest adding a confirmation if a pilot accidentally selects a number that will automatically close RC. For example, if you accidentally select Cancel Flight Plan while airborne, the controller cheerfully says OK! and closes RC. A simple, "please confirm" would alleviate accidental closing of RC. This applies to any selection that closes RC.

...I've unchecked it, checked it, and unchecked it over and over, but it still shows up in the RC window. Is there an RC .ini file I can check to make sure this id off?...BTW, really enjoying RC.

I have been using RC for some time now but only installed for FS9.From memory there was a selection to be made - amongst which was included FS2004-and-FSX (correct?).I now wish to use RC with FSX...............(but still retaining FS9).Do I need to uninstall RC and then re-install to include FSX or is there a shorter route to take???Oh! and what about updating the Database for both FS9 and FSX.....?Great programme - would not be without it and have made a number of converts for you who have subsequently given up on the "on-line" black arts in favour of guaranteed Control whenever, wherever.

Is RC guiding on the ground? I hit another aircraft in San Francisco today. I have AI Smooth and it work most of the time but not on the ground.After I land, there is no more control with RC it ask to close or report.THanksAl

Hallo,I have been running RC4 in FS9 for ages now and it is trully the best Addon I have (along with AES).Yesterday I tried a short flight from LFML to LFMD (I had just installed France 1 airports) and I ran into a problem.Initially everything was working fine, but approaching the runway I was asked to switch to tower, and when I pressed my mapped joystick button to do this I got the Run-time error '75' message and RC4 closed down.I held short and booted it all back up again, this time it lasted longer, I got airborne, but on about the 4th frequency change (about half way through the flight) again I got the error.As I said, I haven't made any changes other than adding a c…

Occaisionally I may miss a heading change and get coached by Control.. but sometimes during the critique I'll get ######ed at for requesting heading changes due to storms that weren't there... when I'm pretty sure I never asked for a heading deviation..I think I'm just flying so perfectly JD put some ######in in there just knock me down a peg or two.. :-)

While I am in a posting mood, just a quick observation.When instructed to climb or descend ATC seems a bit Nazistic in their fervour to get you moving.If you haven't started descending within about 10 seconds they come back at you very quickly complaining "your were instructed to.......". This is also the same for switching frequencies.I am an ATCO in real life unfortunately, and we do give people a bit of slack. If you require someone to follow an action immediately you use the words "immediately" or "expedite". Some real world pilots don't manage to change frequencies in a minute let alone 10 seconds ;-)Any chance of calming them down a bit. After all, by the time I…
