Hello all,I love flying the PSS 777 and various other payware aircrafts with FMCs. Now, with Radar Contact running, how can I make the copilot take over the controls and fly the route and follow necessary instructions from ATC. Should I just have the AP on or should I have LNAV or VNAV on ?Or heading hold ??Please help me out.Thanks. :)

Installed on XP Home system. Went OK. Trying to launch from shortcut or by double clicking the exe file does not work. No error message. Just nothing. Right clicking exe file and selecting "run as.." gives me a box saying "invalid picture". Have done all usual checks..virus scan etc. Any help appreciated.Ken

Hi there,I recently had to re-install all my FS9 software, RC4.3 installed ok, but when I tried a flight in FS9 and activated RC, the comms box appeared in a transparent window with a red font and if I tried to rt/click it and set it to lock no menu appeared. I checked the modules menu bar and ADVDisplay was not there.I then downloaded the latest AdvDisplay.dll from Peter Dowsons website and copied it into my FS9Modules folder. After starting FS9 again and making sure I put a check mark against the AdvDisplay item, I then tried RC, however the transparent window was there along with the Advdisplay window. hello, I seem to have problem with atc recognizing certain runways in RC4. In a related thread, I checked JD's LIRF entries in his R4 file and mine were the same. It is a strange issue and only affect runway 34R in isd's rome scenery- I get as far as the holding point and am told to line up and wait. Once lining up on the runway, I can wait forever but iget no take off clearance (this doesn't happen on Runway 34L). When I take off, once in the air atc continues as if i had been given clearancewhere I should be getting grief for not waiting. Aftre that the flight is perfect, until I reach LIMC (Malpensa). In the real world, it is possible to fly VFR without a flight plan filed. In such cases, you do have to interact with ATC, at times. I tried to get RC to load without a flight plan, but it won't.If it is somewhere in the manual, I haven't found it. It's a big manual, and I've had it less than a day.Is there a way to do this?

Hi All,Can someone explain to me the procedure in a light GA aircraft for landing after requesting vectors.I have only ever used ILS approaches before and I am always lined up nicely for my final approach.But today I was going to Airport X that had a 80 degree runway and it was incorporated correctly into my flight plan. when I got to within 50 miles, I changed my mind and asked for a VOR approach - then 5 minutes later I decided I wouldn't as the VOR was a Tacan and I don't think I have the correct equipment in my old beaver.So, I re-requested a Vectored approach.all went well until I was 30 miles out at 2500ft - per ATC's request and on a 45 degree course.Now I was the…

Hello,I'm having a problem starting Radar Contact on Vista. When I run without administrator privileges, the program gives error 75 on updating the scenery DB. When I run with administrator privileges, I immediatly get a messagebox with title "Radar Contact" and the error message "Component 'comdlg32.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid". I have tried reregistering comdlg32.ocx using the procedure in the FAQ using a command prompt with admin privileges, but this still happens.Please help!Niels Albers

Hi,I tries to practice the holding - At some point, I have the choice between Holding patterns and vectors but it does not work.First, the controller asks me if I got the question right after asking it.Second, I selected Holding patterns but got vectors This happened twice - can it be because my co-pilot has the coms ?(he does not have the plane).Thanks for your help,Olivier Noir

Hi JD - sorry to bug ya, i'm not sure if you got my email or not. ([email protected]) My PC crashed and I am trying to load all the stuff I had on the new PC. I loaded the RCv4 disc and the 4.1 update i had on a CD. Unfortunately, i didn't save the 4.2 update. Is there a way i can get that update and a new key. In the manual it says to ignore ATC and go faster than that below FL100 where necessary in a heavy like the 744 but of course ATC complains when I do that.Is there a menu option to request an exemption or must I use the option in General for 250 @ FLxxx?Thanx.

When I'm flying an IFR flight from California to Denver, Co, in a 737 airliner, the ATC will say this" "...fly heading XYZ until recieving suitable navigation, proceed direct when able."What exactly does this mean for me? I was getting this ATC call right after I reached the T/C point. I was flying using the LNAV. Should I have turned the LNAV off and gone the heading it told me to go? I was a little apprehensive because it would have placed me in a huge banking turn away from the green route line on the ND. Seemed a little odd...What do you think?- Kareem

I have only been using RC4.3 a short while,this weekend I bought ASv6. After installingthat the RC window seems to have merged withthat green METAR windows from AS, its nowborderless, and even worse, the text is corrupt, looks like some upper 128 ascii.Someone else in UVA told me this had happenedand I could fix it by reinstalling updates,but since I don't have updates I suppose I'llhave to reinstall it :(I would love to know a simpler solution however.Jack
