Ive read on a few posts that the default interacts more, which i can't seem to understand why rc4 wouldn't can someone clarify?

I read through the manual, but 3 things not covered,1.flt wx button in 4.3 not previous versions, whats this for?2.When building database i located the path manually is this all i had to do, point it to fs9?3.As for adv display, i cant find it, the manual shows the full installation with fsuipc, adv, chatters etc...in the list but the actual exe file does not show adv, am i supposed to manually install it. Not in modules in fs9 tab.*No more "search for update button" either in 4.3.Sorry for the questions but it seems the manual wasn't updated. I never owned previous versions so im trying to learn it all at once!

Shouldn't it be cheaper to download right away with no delivery, why is it the same price?

Just curious i f idon't want to fly a star will i get vectors like the simplicity of default fs9 atc to get me lined up for ILs approach or a possible visual, if my last leg waypoint is miles and miles away? Say the plan end way ahead of time. 2. Will a star or any approach be easy to do with RC without approach charts?Actually 3rd question will v5 be compatible with fs9?ThanksIm new to all this!

I have recently installed RC and have not been able to get it running. The RC window does not react when I press 1, 2, etc. I also got the following error: "Run-time error 75 RadarContact.fsuicp.rc4code". Thanks for your help. (I am running RC v4,3 on FSX/Vista)

Hi,just bought RC and would like to know if it possible to have it installed on two different OS (XP and Vista) with the same registration key or is it necessary to buy another license?RegardsAbrupto

Hi,whats wrong or do I wrong?Starting in normal order means FSX than RC is all fine and easy going.When I start Flight Enviroment X, I have "ICP time out all retries".I did it 10 times its always the same. I reinstalled Vista, FSX and SP2 and FEX. Before I have had the Accerlaration Pack, I thought that might be the failure as I had with Level D676. New instalation of RC with new code no change. I did all I guess what mentioned in FAQ

The other nite I flew my plan from KAUS to KMSY as I do everyday. When I was cleared to land on Rwy 28 and hit the runway there was a United AI plane in position to take off. I did not see the plane until I had hit the runway. Needless to say I hit the plane. RC never told me to go around. ATC failed the test again. Is there anyway in the future to prevent this? This is the only time this has happened.

Tonight I flew one of my normal flights from KJAX to KMSY. First they gave me clerance to land on Rwy 19. As I was about 900ft from the Rwy they told me to go around which I did. Then I asked for Rwy 10 which I was gave clearence to land. Again they told me to go around. Then they brought me back to Rwy 10. At this time I was extremly low on fuel. About 29%. I was given clearence to land. Again about 700ft they told me to go around for the 3rd time. This time I had no choice but to land or crash the plane. So I landed the plane. Of course Bill Stevens pulled my license. Maybe jd or somebody can tell me why they had me to go around so many times. Thanks.

I recently bought a Plantronics USB headset and tried with FSX for the first time last night. I discovered that I now have two audio devices present in Windows-XP and within FSX. In Windows and FSX (sound settings), I set sounds(.wav) to my PCI Sounblaster card and voice to my Plantronics USB device. With this setup, the default FSX ATC audio voices now only comes through my headset and is very very cool. I can adjust the engine and atc audio levels seperatly from within FSX and as well the volume controls on the speakers and headsets. Lots of flexibility with this setup.So the question becomses, does anyone have any experience setting up RC so it only comes through …

Hi there,I'm running RC4.3 on a WideFS machine. The machine crashed because I was getting a bit overzealous with some MyFSGoogleEarth fun, so RC4 crashed as well. I've done a bit of searching and looked over the documentation, but couldn't find out if I can restart RC4 in the middle of a flight without having saved anything. The flight is still going fine, because the main PC didn't crash, but I'm curious if I can get RC4 to understand that I'm in the middle of the flight already.Sorry if it's a question that's been answered elsewhere already, but I missed it if it was!Thanks,-stefan

I have recently added the excellent freeware VTBS scenery to FS9 and as per the instructions have then rebuilt the RC4 database to add the airport to RC. This seems to work as the airport freqencies are now available and selaectable in FS9 thru RC.However when i am flying an approach to VTBS i am asked by the controller a) whether i have the latest VTBS weather and :( what approach I require - i.e. visual or ILS. On selecting an ILS approach i am not however given radar vectors to intercept the ILS but am, i suspect, expected to fly the published ILS procedure. Is there something i can do to allow the controller to give me radar vectors to final approach course?Gratef…

If I create a LAN flight in multiplayer, and then have someone join my airplane in the cockpit, is there anyway to set it up so they will hear the RC ATC?

Today I made a flight from KSFO to KRNO:KSFO 73CA SWR KRNOMy GPS in the LD B-767 showed the complete flight plan (including a small calif. airport, 73CA). RC4 did not show the 73CA waypoint and had me heading for VOR "SWR" after leaving KSFO and of course the ATC kept yelling at me for heading for 73CA instead of SWR.Will not RC4 use small airports as waypoints and if so, how do I set up the flight plan to use them ? Hi All,I run RC on a client PC and listen to audio of ATC via a one-speaker headset attached to the client pc via USB. The main FSX sound therefore comes through my main server pc's soundcard and through my speakers. All fine thus far.Now, I need to work out a way of chanelling the RC ATC voices from my client pc to the main soundcard or via my main FSX program so that ALL the sound (FSX and RC ATC voices) can be listened to via my servers soundcard - this is so I can hear everything on my main headphones at night !Any ideas ? Bet that's stumped you.....!

I have noticed a phenomenon which happens regularly on approach.About 40 miles from the arrival airport, After being assigned a landing runway, I'm given a vector which is roughly 30 degrees offset to the runway. That way, I'm supposed to intercept the localizer at a managable angle. Fine.I usually fly the heavies, which means my speed at that point, 40 miles away is 180-200kt.Now, correct me if I'm wrong, the localizer beam extends to about 22nm before the runway. And so, I find myself flying the assigned vector, and going past the end of the beam, and missing it altogether.I have to change heading so I can intercept the localizer, based on what I see on the ND.Example- …

Been using RC for years on my old XP computer. I've got a new Vista (32) computer and am attempting to install RC v4 (got disc).It installed ok but when I start RC (for the first time) I get a message which states: Component 'MSComctl.ocx" or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: A file is missing or invalid.I reinstalled it again but with the same results.I don't have any idea what this or how to fix it. Anyone have a clue as to what is going on here? Any help would be appreciated.Jim

Hello!I've been a long time user of RC for all my sim flying and have only recently dared try the online experience.I just have to admit that my many hours spent with RC have served me very well so far in my online sojourns as I've had no unpleasant or unexpected surprises...yet :D A big thank you to the RC crew whose offline nagging has payed off! Flying- EGLL-LSZH, at FL 350, when suddenly " Watch your altitude your assigned altitude is 350". My altituide was exactly 350 (29.92) (1013). A few moments later - " You have busted your altitude again your assigned altitude is 350". At 350 (29.92) (1013). A few moments later- " Pilot Deviation etc" Is there an explanation for this please. Hi,I just updated my video board to a 3870X2 from ATI. When I undock RC4 from Flight simulator 9 and place the text box on a second monitor the red text disappears. All I have is a black box that says Radar Contact on top with a X in the right corner, this text is in white.I tried pressing one of RC4's keys and it works, I just can't see any text. If I move RC4's text box back into FS9 I have red text.

John,Need a little help,Had to reinstall Windows XP..... Sent you new key request and you quickly sent me a new one..... It does not work. When I attempt to reopen Radar Contact V4.3 it just takes me back to the registration page. I am using "Cut and Paste" so should be no typing error.... Just curious, when RC4 tells me to expect vectors to a runway, is it getting that info out of the AFCAD file, or does RC4 have it's own database for that info? I just landed on runway 9R at KORD which USED to be called runway 9L - RC4 called it by the old name "9L". Does that mean I need to update my AFCAD for KORD (if a current one is available) or does that mean I need to update radar contact?Another somewhat related question. Hey fellas,another question,I'm going through all my AI aircraft checking the callsigns are correct so RC can identify them and hopefully I'll hear somemore chatter. Anyway I was going though them making sure the ATC Airline in the Aircraft.cfg's match the Callsign box in the RC4 options menu. I thought this was right way to go until I came to Delta, which was just 'd.' This set alarm bells ringing as i knew that can't be right.So my question is, is there a list of callsigns that RC4 reads from that matches to my aircraft.cfg's to say the correct callsign?
