Does RC4 take terrain height into account when giving vectors and altitude assignments? Last night it told me to descend and so I did, then it vectored me right into a mountain lol. I was in VMC so I was able to avoid it but had I been in the soup, it would have been lights out for the Columbia 400. I am using FSGenesis 38m Mesh so the mountains are likely a bit taller/shaped differently (more realistically) than the default fs9 mountains. Would this have any effect on the situation?Secondly - does RC4 take into account actual MOCA and MEA (minimum obstacle clearance altitude & minimum enroute altitude) when on airways? I haven't played MSFS in about 4 months so my memory is a little hazy. Is RC4 supposed to vector me away from traffic or other traffic away from me? I had a close call while I was under RC4 control - about 500' and probably half a mile - RC4 gave me traffic advisories but didn't give me traffic avoidance vectors. I just can't remember if this is part of RC4s limitations or not.

I just completed a flight into KEAT in washington state. I haven't used MSFS for about 4 months now, so I'm a little rusty. KEAT has an ILS rwy12 published for it but this approach doesn't exist in RC4 - how do I go about adding approaches such as this ILS rwy 12 in RC4?

I just got RC4, snd it sounds like a great program, but the pilot and controler takes forever to speak... I gave up after hearing the clearence... "Scandinavian.......1.......9........4.........5.......cleared.........to......eco.........n........victor........alfa"Is there any way I can speed it up, or just correct the fault? Because I don't have the patience to listen for 5 minutes just to get the clearence;)

Recently I seem to be having a problem with the Approach Controller. It is not in every flight, maybe one out of four. I'm getting the final instruction some 20-25 miles from the marker and each time fail to capture the localiser.The final waypoint in the f/plan is always near to the arrival airport. I have 4.3 and I believe the current vers of FSUIPC and makerwys. I've updated the database. Is there something I'm missing?Bud

I needed to delete/rebuild the FSUIPC.ini. file to fix a problem with the LVD 767, however, it's caused problems with FS2Crew.Instead of a square control window, I now have a green banner along the top of the window about 2-2 1/2 inches thick and the lettering is unreadable. Do I need to re-install?Dave

Hi all,When I was instructed to descent and maintain 5100ft at 60 miles north of KCEC, I had a feeling that it was too low as I was like flying on tree tops. After I landed, I took a look at the chart, the clearance is 5000ft in that area. Question is, how does RC determine how high to fly near an approach? Thnx.

i've been working for hours trying to get the latest version of RC4 to work with FSX. Everytime i click Run RC4, the error below pops up and closes RC4.Run-time Error 9RadarContact.rcv4module.initializeI i really don't want to have to scrap the whole project, but it's getting close to happening haha. I had to go out unexpectedly last night while flying for my VA, so I used the move aircraft to here function in FSNavigator so I could land within 25 minutes, which (understandably) completely messed me up with RC v4.3. I was able to bring the FS9 ATC window back and hear the controllers speaking, and tune the radios ok, but I could never respond, call or identify myself to FS9 ATC, after shutting down RC (running WideFS configuration).From everything I've read here RC doesn't relinquish command of the keyboard after shutting down mid flight. Is that correct, or have I missed something somewhere? Is there any way, in this situation, I could've gone back to FS9s ATC so …

Dear Rc Team,I was cleared to land at KSJC on RWY 30L and as I touched down I noticed AI traffic was cleared for takeoff on 12R (Same runway opposite direction). The winds were in favor of the 30's. Why was this occuring? Is there anything I can do to fix it?(using fs9)Thanks,John

Noted differences and a few questions...1. There isn't a "Check For Updates" button. Should there be one in version 4.3?2. Plane Data - what do you select if you're just GA vice Commercial?3. How the heck do you get tool tips? 4. I keep seeing reference to v4.4 Is that an update I need? 5. The manual addresses ASV, they're up to ASv6.5, is there anything to add?6. Hello. I recently purchased Radar Contact v4 and sent my name and ID to get my registration key. However, I got an e-mail back saying that this is not the e-mail I used to purchase RC with but it is. If they sent me a confirmation e-mail for the purchase in the exact same e-mail then how can this be the wrong e-mail? When I replied back, they never answered. I'm waiting for 8 hours now for my registration key so I can start playing RC. Please help. Thanks.

Searching on V5 and headset produced no hits so I couldn't see where this had been asked but - will V5 be able to direct it's sound through a headset as opposed to speaker,or I should ask, will it be a configurable option. JD,I reinstalled RC4 on my new PC and emailed for a reg key but it did not come. I emailed for it Wednesday 1/2/08 and this is Friday. Is the responder down or is this a manual operation? Just wondering. I miss my RC4.

Hello,I just spent the full day trying to figure out which programs seemed to be incompatible on my rig, and it seems that they are RC 4.3 and PMDG 747-400X.Whenever I use each of those addons separately (PMDG only, without RC 4.3, or RC4.3 with any other aircraft) everything is fine.However, as soon as I start using RC 4.3 and PMDG 747-400X together, the IRS dealign themselves, ATC keeps repeating "QNH 1013" before and after takeoff, and the gear of the PMDG is unresponsive (I can drag the gear level as much as I want, toggle gears, etc, the gear just won't go up).Any suggestions? I'd just love to fly that big bird with proper ATC...Thanks,Paul Greve
