Hello everyone,I have been using RC for about a week now learning how to work it and I think i'm getting better. However I have noticed a few glitches I believe. 1. Sometimes when an AI aircraft is taxing to the runway it stops. It blocks up traffic and won't move after atleast 5 min the aircraft disappears. I am using AISmooth the latest version and still no luck I do however have aircraft landing.2. When I come in for a landing and once when I land no other aircraft will land after I have cleared the runway. 3. When I have landed and i'm still on the runway the aircraft has its flaps down and is gaining altitude but it remains slow and doesn't make any heading changes a…

Hi,I made a flight plan in FSBuild which uses VHKG as the ICAO code for VHHX (Kai Tak airport). FSBuild does not recognise this code and I have a blank arrival airport in the flight plan when it is imported eg:YMML to @36000 (Alt-1,Alt-2)/KEPPA.NYA. etc etcIs there a way I get FSBuild to recognise VHKG as VHHX?ThanksJonathanEDIT: I have re-run the scenery database build and Ihave v3.98 of makerwys.exe installed.

HiI have just re-installed RC4 after a prolonged break from flying. My version is showing as 4.0.3675. I am using only for FS9 and release notes say I should NOT update to 4.3 but should have 4.2 but the links to 4.2 do not work. Could you advise please?Thanks in advanceJohn

What am I supposed to do when RC asks me to go around? For the moment, I am flying a hold patten on the established plate. Is this the correct way to do it with RC? Like to hear how other simmers do it. Thnx.

Hi, I just completed a new build to run FSX, I reinstalled FSX (along with Acceleration), MyTrafficX, and Radar Contact v4.3, (with the latest FSUIPC), but every time I load RC with the aircraft parked at the gate and try to get weather or a clearance, I get an error message "run time error '75': RadarContact.fsuipc.rcv4code" and RC then closes. I am unable to make any other attempts to access the program, until I restart it. I run Vista Ultimate 64 bit now, could this be a problem? Whereas RC4 ran perfect on my XP 32 bit version. Another quick question.Now I know that this might not have anything to do with RC, but I have noticed since using it that when I am cruising at a Flight Level (say FL340) but there is a fairly large difference between STD pressure and QNH, all the AI flights seem to be cruising on the QNH pressure at high level.I was wizzing along at FL340 today (1013 set), and on my TCAS all the other aircraft were multiples of 600 and 400 feet above and below me.Is this an RC problem or some other bug which has crept in?I shouldn't complain, because at least I won't run the risk of hitting them anymore which mr. How-dee!After having purchased a variety of add-ons for FS9, I realized the weak point of the whole program was the ATC. So I went shopping, which led me to RC4, which led me to downloading the manual three weeks ago, and here we are. My first flight with RC4 completed.I fly KPHX-KABQ via SJN.ABQ DP more than any other route. This was the first RC4 flight in the logbook. Hello RC Team,Congrats on V4.I am having a problem when I am vectored for an ILS (it only occurs when I am approaching the airport in the same direction as the active rwy). Approach gives me a vector to intercept the loc over 25 miles from the airport, a few miles before my nav radio has picked up the localizer, so I pass throught the localizer before the nave radio has received it.Thanks for your help,John

Hi guys, this is the first time posting on this forum.I have just found this marvelous product after years of being frustrated by Microsoft ATC (unfortunately I am and ATCO in real life and get frustrated easily;-))I just have one quick question. When flying into LOWS (my favourite destination) I get vectored for the runway 16 approach and always seem to end up on a 10 mile final at 8000ft (Aerodrome level is 1400ft). Although I am sometimes game and try to sideslip my MD83 in, it often ends up in carnage.I suppose one way around is to ask for the full IAP each time, but sometimes I am lazy and just prefer vectors.Is there any way to change the database for LOWS to allo…

Hi all! I've been a long time flight simmer and have FINALLY made the transition to Radar Contact. Have to say I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner. I can honestly say I've joined the ranks of "I'm never flying with the default ATC again!" Great job and thanks for the realism!On occasion I like to listen to real ATC via internet (who doesn't :))and I hear a phrase that I have not encounterd in RC. When a plane is nearing its approach a controller will say "reduce speed to ..." or "slow to ...." for spacing. I know RC will speed up those AI in front of you or slow down faster AI in back but does it ever use those phrases?If not I would like to drop it in the sugg…

Hello,I recently purchased Radar Contact and I must say i'm very impressed with the program. I do however just a few questions that shouldn't be to difficult to answer.1. I have noticed when I am told to change to a different frequency there is a delay the option doesn't appear for about 10-15 seconds. Is this normal or is there something I need to change?2. Sometimes when i'm again told to change frequencys the option to change appears but its the wrong frequency. Good Day,Have had Radar Contact V4.3 on CD for about a week now. I must say that it is an outstanding program and well worth the price. I really like the ability to turn over the radios and aircraft to the co-pilot and just go along for the ride on occasion. Also I have had no major problem with the quality of the voice recordings that a few users reported. Considering the realistic two way communications with ATC the program provides, the voice issue is minor. The chatter files are excellent and truly are about as close to real as it gets......Thanks....... Hi simmers,For my flights (mostly GPS direct), RC always vectors me for ILS approches. However, I usually fly the established GPS approch plats. How can RC be programmed to vector me to the correct IAF for the plat selected? Currently, I fly directly to the IAF after RC vectors for final, but I double that is the correct way to do it.

I have installed 4.2 on my Vista system and it is working properly. I just installed 4.3 in accordance with the instructions for a system running FS9 and FSX. When I ran the FS9 installation it was ok, selected the .flt/.wx button, browsed to my FS9 document folder. I didn't really seem to connect to the folder when I selected it, the path showed, but no real indication that I was making a selection. Selected 'ok'. I then ran the db rebuild and that went ok. I had to hand-type the FS directory;there was no browse (I don't know if this is normal). Hello all.I understand RC is meant to spell airlines names if it doesn't have a wav for that particular airline. I have encountered that it does so randomly for FSX default ones, which do have a .wav. For example, in the same session, I hear "orbit xxx, do whatever", and 5 minutes later I hear "oscar romeo bravo india tango yyy, do something else". What am I doing wrong?

This is probably more of an ATC question than an RC one, though the situation occurred in RC.I was at the hold line of the active runway at a controlled airport in Spain, ready to depart. There was a displaced threshold, so the taxiway entered the overrun area, not the runway proper, though the threshold was pretty close. The tower directed me to, "...line up and wait". I hadn't heard that term used before.Before rolling forward I looked and there was an AC on final, only about a mile out. My question is, does "line up and wait" mean the exactly the same as "position and hold"? If so, is it acceptable for an aircraft to be on the overrun area short of the threshold w…

I'm a bit confused. The instructions say to " unzip the new makerwys.exe into both the fs9 and fsx root directories" However, the only files contained in the new 4.3 upgrade is rc4.exe and two other BIN files, no makerwys.exe. WOuld this be the makerwys.exe file that I was asked to backup earlier? ThanksTroy

Control/Shift-K for using the co-pilot for communications does not work anymore, and trying to use it makes a mess of things in RC (4.3)I uninstalled/re-installed RC and it has the same behavior. Also tried changing the shortcut assignment and/or the co-iplot voice -- same problem...Anyone else getting this?Vista32, FSX + SP2
