Hello, i am a new radar contact user, using 4.3, FSXsp1, winxpsp2. I am just starting small with trying to set up a few simple flights around local airports with the twin otter. sometimes when i ask for clearance delivery, i get it right away. but other times, they tell me it is available on request.if i respond my voice says standing by and the options on the radar contact window go away.what is a reasonable time to expect getting a response back? i looked around on the forums and internet and it seems that there is likely to be a delay in this case, but i waited over 15 minutes and still never heard back. is there a way to configure the maximum waiting time? or am i doi…

Hi,Can someone explain to me what I'm doing wrong here please?If I'm flying into an airport where the chart shows starting the procedure near the runway, e.g. overfly the NDB at 5000 feet, turn outbound for 15 miles, etc., then as soon as I get near the runway I'm told to go missed as my wheels are up. I'm choosing the IAP option in RC, but what should I be doing? The waypoints for the approach are not in the FS2004 plan, as I'm selecting when I get to my destination as appropriate.Thanks,Mark

Hi,wanting to make a flight with the concorde I'm wondering how to set up RC in order to allow a step climb that is typical for this a/c on her routing EGLL - KJFK. Is this feature supported?In real life above a certain altitude -FL410- controllers didn't pay attention to the altitude as there wasn't any crossing traffic. Thank you

Ok, this should probably be obvious but I had to clarify my understanding still.I was cleared by RC to descend and maintain from FL270 to 17000 ft. As I descended through 19000 ft, the controller switched me over to another sector, who then gave me pilot's discretion to 13000 ft. Question: with PD to 13000 ft in the above situation, would I have needed to level off at 17000 ft (per my original clearance from the other sector), BEFORE my PD to 13000 ft, or would I be clear to maintain my current altitude of 19000 ft with my new PD to 13000 ft? I understand that my current controller supersedes any previous one in regard to clearances, but I was a little confused at …

Hi,I've been wondering about this for awhile and was wondering if some of you R/W ATC guys on here might know about how assigning landing runways to airliner traffic works.Specifically, does ATC 'talk' with airline dispatch or anything like that in regards to which company flights will be assigned a particular landing runway at major terminals, or are landing runways simply assigned to inbound aircraft based on winds and local traffic conditions?If preferred landing runways are indeed granted to airline traffic, does this happen via the filed flight plan, or does ATC uplink this information to the aircraft via ACARS well before the approach phase begins, etc?The reason I …

While using FS9, after clearence, taxiing and takeoff process, and when climbing, RC4 freezes.- En error warning box appears referring to something as: "error 76 in execution time - Radar Contact FSUIPC.Rcv4 Code"It never happened to me before and I had just upgraded to FSUIPC registered version 3.8.-Can you help me ?Thanks

I have been using RC for about a year now with very few problems, however in the last 2 days i have come across a problem.The problem is this, when i load fs9 & a flight plan & weather everything works ok until i load RC,after loading the flight plan in rc and start rc and then return to fs9 my mouse cursor flickers a lot as if it is loading something,fs9 seems to freeze and the only way out of this is to shut fs9 down.This is really frustrating as i really enjoy using RC in fs9 and i dont want to go back to the default atc. This problem only occurs in fs9 when i start RC . Can anyone help me with this thanks

KORD, Chicago O'hare has runways with strange designations currently. Runway 9R/27L was renamed runway 10/28, and runway 9L/27R was renamed as 9R/27L. I have an updated AFCAD file which reflects this, and the runway designations are correct in the afcad, I've checked them myself a number of times. Yet RC4 is still calling them by their old designation. I have run the Rebuild Scenery DB a million times with the latest version of Makerunways downloaded from the link at the top of the forum recently (I'm constantly adding other airports and updating AFCADs) but RC4 is still using the old, incorrect designations for the runways. Hi I'm thinking of getting Radar Contact and after reading the manual on their website, I have a couple of questions regarding the holding patterns1. You have the options of OFF/Weather/ON for holding but if you have it ON does that mean every flight will have a holding pattern or only when it is required?2. When ON does it apply to holds because of weather and holds because of busy traffic in the area?3. If you approach Heathrow or JFK, are you more likely to get into a holding pattern at those airports than at some quite airport where traffic is much less?Many thanks

My "local" Leeds-Bradford (EGNM) does not have what I would describe as a "conventional" taxiway/runway layout. Leaving the gate for departure requires entry to the runway and then backtracking to the "start" of runway.Every time I depart I am told to proceed to the holding point. I use the available taxiway and "hold" - not entering the runway.Every time - I am left waiting and waiting often with NO other traffic arriving or in the vicinity.So I enter the runway and commence backtracking and then, instead of being reprimanded for leaving the holding point, am just instructed to contact Tower.Question - does RC not recognise those runways with a requirement for backtracki…

I'd read that RC will sometimes put you in a hold but until today, I'd never experienced one before (after probably at least 100 flights with RC4.3). I got put into a hold at CAMRN intersection south of JFK. RC gave me headings for each leg of this hold though, and they were super long, like 20 mile legs and it was basically a square shape rather than a more standard hold shape. Just curious if RC ever puts you in a hold and leaves you on your own to fly standard legs or gives you a DME hold or anything like that, instead of actively telling you when to turn and what heading to turn to for each leg of the hold. Radar Contact only gives me temperatures in Celsius in FS9, no matter where in the world I am. I would really like Fahrenheit temps, at least when I'm flying in the US. Did I miss a setting? -- This is a WideFS set up with the latest version of the registered FSUIPC. I'm also running Active Sky 6.5, which seems to show temps in C as well. My FlightSim2004 settings are correct under Options - Settings-International (I'm posting this at the same time over there, in case it's AS, but I've looked everywhere and can't find a place to change this.)Not that big of a deal, but I would like to change it if possible. I just downloaded, activated, and tried RCV4.3 Is there any way to change the colors and font size of what the manual calls the "adventure" wondow? Right now, even if I undock it and put it on the second LCD, there is not enough contrast for me to see what it says. (BTW, it is hard to tell when the manual is talking about FS9 features and FS10 features, although that could be my screen reader)I could best use yellow on black in a large non-serif font. I have started listening to the manual but at 300 pages, that's three weeks of listening. I couldn't find anything yet about changing colors.Is there a log file of transmissions created anywhere? The question is, if I close the small window in FS9 to get a screen shot without the Radar Contact window, how do I reopen it? When I start RC it automatically opens the window and I am a bit unsure whether to close it as I may not be able to reopen it. Thanks

When I load a flight plan from FSX I get the following message "Run-Time error '5'invalid procedure call or argument, an RC4 stop.When I load a flight plan v4 KDSM-KORD all works fine, no problem.Anny help appreciated.Martin.

First of all, congrats on such a great software! My question is, is there a way to have RC4 automatically make contact with a new Center when instructed to do so? I did enable the auto-reply but this does not automatically contacts the Center for you. You still need to press #1 in order to make contact.The reason I ask is because on very long hauls, if one needs to step away from the PC for a while, there is a chance of having your IFR flight cancelled, if you do not contact any new Center changes.If it would be possible to have RC4 automatically contact Center for you, then RC4 would simply be perfect.Thanks for any help on this...Efrain Ruizhttp://www.livedispatch.org

is there anyway of starting rc during a flight and disabling the aircraft jumping to the departing airport because this has ruined some of my flights where ive been forced to re start the network machine with rc on it and the aircraft has jumped back to the beginnig of a 8 hour flight kav

Morning JD.I installed RC4 onto my newly built second PC. I used the original set-up.exe from the first machine. Everything installed OK but it is requesting that I paste in a key number. I thought I could simply paste in the key number that was used to register RC4 on the first machine but it doesn't like it.I have therefore, sent a request from the RC4 splash screen for a key so that I can get it activated.Thank you.Graham.

I'm sorry, I know I should know this but I've stored several flights mid-flight using the ctrl-shft-; keys and have never been able to find them again to reload into RC. I'm running RC4 on a WideFS machine.I swear I've looked in the manual, searched the forum and done numerouws searches on both hard drive for "*.rc*" files and have never been able to find them.TIA.
