If you are using add-on airport scenery (or 2005 magvar.bgl with default scenery - more about magvar.bgl here http://pagesperso-orange.fr/hsors/navaids.html) you may find out that RC4 is vectoring you way off the runway. This is because the RC4 uses runway magnetic heading (and possibly variation) as given in the AFCAD files (through MakeRwys) whereas FS2004 is using magvar.bgl data to update your magnetic heading gauges and ignores AFCAD data.Example - Falklands EGYP (Mount Pleasant) airport from the freeware scenery s_atlc1a.zip and magvar 2005. Runway 28 true heading is 285, magnetic variation used by FS is 4.3 so the correct magnetic compass heading used by FS2004 is …

Hello!Just wanted to say "thank you" for a wonderful product.I purchased RC 4.3 quite some time ago, but due to waning interest is FS in general, never got around to installing it. Well, my interest returned a few months ago, and finally, about 2-3 weeks ago, I installed and began using RC. As others have said for a long time, what a difference! I won't fly without it now.The only issue I have is understanding the approach controller's fix when I am given a crossing restriction. In's not that I haven't heard, it's a clarity thing. Nevertheless, I much prefer RC to anything I have ever experienced with FS. Great job!Regards,

Thanks to all who developed this great product! You have made ATC realistic and fun in the MSFS environment. As a RW ATC'r in the US, I was constantly driven nuts by the default ATC. You should have made the controllers at PCT a little more ornery, however :-) This is a great addition for the FS community!Thanks again,Eric

Hi,First of all a big thank you for making FS so much more enjoyable for me :-) I got RC4 as a Christmas present and have never flown without it since!I have just one small question: I often hear AI aircraft making calls such as "request startup" instead of "request push and start". Is there any way for the user aircraft to request startup only instead of push and start? I fly into many small airports where the aircraft turn round at the gate before shutdown so they do not require pushback, only startup clearance from ATC.Thanks in advance for any help! :-)Dave

This is a simple one,I have the registered version of FSUIPC and I have Widefs so I can use a second computer to run stuff like active sky, etc.question 1, can I run RC from the second computer?During the install does RC recognize the registered version of FSUIPC and thus not overwrite it?

I seem to be having trouble with loading RCDs. After pressing the button the window where the FSX files are located shows no files. I know there are previously saved files from when I navigate with explorer. Sorry for the bad resolution I am just trying to show the file exists in the highlighted area. Radar Contact is awesome, but now is my first problem in 6 months. Ok, I was doing a short flight with my PSS Dash 8 from KAVL to KCLT. This is my flight plan "KAVL SUG LINCO KCLT" 81nm and FL110. As I was approaching Linco I was asked to contact KCLT approach on 134.75, I use Otto all the time and he did not respond, consequently I never received any orders to start descending or any form of vectoring. Now RC comes back and tells me later I'm off course (pretty obvious)and orders me to fly 355 but nothing else happens. Lately when I'm starting a flight and I'm using Radar Contact 4 for my ATC, when the screen first comes up there is no text, (CLR, Ground etc) on the screen. It is completely blank. I can key a "1", "2","3" or a "0" then the text comes on the screen. It's no big deal to key one of the above numbers to get the text to appear, BUT something is WRONG for me to have to do this. Anyone with any Ideas ? This my just be coinsidental, but also when changing from the "cotpit view" to the "spot" view of my Level-D 767-300ER, for about 1/2 to 1 second there is NO texture on the aircraft......pure WHITE, then the texture pops in???? Last night I flew from KBUF to KJFK for jetBlue flight 6 on an A320 (Wilco/Feelthere). During my descent into JFK, as I recall, ATC required that I was at FL120 and 250 knots by 40 miles from KJFK. I hit that mark. The problem however, is that I don't think ATC gave me enough time to descend to 1,900 feet to intercept the marker and follow the glideslope to the runway 22L. ATC lined me up downwind at 230 knots and base at 210 knots as it was supposed to, however, I was at maximum open descent rate (I think? about 1000 ft per minute) with my configuration/speed and ATC turned me towards the marker about 5 miles away when I still had more than 3,000 feet to go to hit 1,…

Hmmm re-installed RC4 from my disk onto a new drive. I have a new install of FSX also. When I make a flight plan in FSX and try to load it into RC4 I get a Runtime error 5Invalid Procedure Call or argument.message. I'm thinking about uninstalling and reinstalling but am not sure. I've looked through the documentation and cannot find an answer to this. Can I still use flights saved prior to the installation of Radar Contact? The aircraft is shut down and parked at the departure gate, and a flight plan made with FSBuild is saved with the flight.Michael Verlin

After a disk crash I've discovered my backups didn't include the files to upgrade 4.0 to 4.2. I checked the 4.3 release notes at http://www.jdtllc.com/v4/notes%20for%204.3.txt but the URLs mentioned there don't seem to work (http://www.davevollmer.com/rcv401update.exe http://www.davevollmer.com/rcv4_3831.zip)I've now found the 4.0 to 4.01 update at http://www.jdtllc.com/v4/rcv401update.exe but substituting rcv4_3831.zip into the URL didn't find anything.Please can you tell me where to download the necessary file to upgrade from 4.01 to 4.2?Thanks

Hi, I asked earlier, when i had a problem with delay vectors...This time i just go to wondering what there is that makes radar contact put you in a holding pattern or delay vectors(when you have selected to enable holdings) is it just random, or has it something to do with the Ai-trafic at the airport?I noticed that something was a bit strange a few days ago when i was flying to Arlanda(ESSA) i was supposed to land about 00:00 and i got delay vectors for about 45 minutes... as i followed my vectors, i checked my trafic explorer to see if there was a lot of traffic in the area, but there where almost only trafic that was "sleeping" (parked at a gate)...

I have always wondered, but never asked. At departure i'm told to climb to e.g. 5000 ft. - expect flightlevel 350 - in 10 minutes. How on earth should i reach FL 350 in 10 min. ? Maybe the spaceshuttle can do that, but non of the regular airplanes i've seen... :)

Quick question: Does RC generate it's own ATIS report or does it read the data from the report generated by the default FS9 system? A friend of mine is designing an airport and can't get the ATIS selection to come up in the default FS9 window -- the option isn't even listed -- but we can get it if we load up good 'ol RCv4.3.

First I'd like to say what a great product RC is, for IFR flights of any length, its streets ahead of the default ATC.I know VFR is not supported, but I often like to fly circuits to get the feel of new aircraft I download or buy. Is the any way of doing this under RC ATC control? It was quite easy on the default ATC, but I can't see how it would be done with RC.

I just want to move Radar Contact v4.3 onto my new build and was wondering if my old registration key will work on the new machine -- I seem to remember that I need a new key if I install on a new machine. Is there anyway I could get a new product key ASAP so that it's waiting for me by the time I get home tonight in a few hours? :+ I currently run RC via WideFS and have some issues with resource usage on the client. Is there any problem to utilize RC 4.3 for ATR-500. In my first flight all went OK, but I cannot use Control+Shift+K for long flight RC4.3 doesn't accept this combination.Will you please adviseSanal

Is there any way to skip the last couple of steps after touchdown and maybe have RCv4.3 just shut down? Or do I always have to wait for RC to instruct me to contact ground, be told to taxi to the stand, choose "end rc" or "flight critique", and then wait for RC4 to release FS9 before I can contact ground via MSFS's ATC? (which is what I like to do)?I don't see anything in the manual and I did some searches here, but didn't turn anything up, but of course I could have missed it.As always, thanks in advance for your help!
