I am interested in Radar Contact, never thought of using it before for various reasons, but now that I am flying FSX only, and no Ai (because i cant get good performance out of having it), I would like to use this program. But is RC5 coming out soon? If i buy RC4 will I get RC5 for free? Is it coming out soon, so should I hold out?ThanksAlex

I finally got my network back up up and running - after removing Vista and installing XP from my laptop - and sitting patiently for 2 hours while RC v4.3 installs, it is now ignoring the fact that I have FS9 and keeps asking for the FSX .exe in order to install FSUIPC4.dll.When I previously installed v4.3 temporarily on the FS (XP) machine in order to keep flying, I just ignored its pleas for FSX and it installed and worked properly on FS9.What do I do? I am loathe to close any windows in case it aborts the install and I have to go through it all again.

I recently reinstalled RC4 but I am now having a really unusual problem with it.Everytime I load a flight plan (*pln) and then click Start RC, I am instantly transported to somewhere off of the West coast of Africa from wherever I happen to be on the planet, I have no idea why it does this or how to work around it, so I would be grateful for any help.ThanksDale

Hello All -It's been awhile since I've been flyin on FS9, so if this has been answered my kind apologies.Lately, I've been experiencing issues with the PMDG 747 v.1.3 and RC v4.3.3845. Every runs smoothly until I get close to my destination airport and ask the controller to leave frequency to check weather. As soon as I'm given permission - *CTD*. Actually, not so much a CTD but complete lock up to "black". This only happens with RC and PMDG 747. The 737's, CRJ's, work well.I'm also running ActiveSky V6.5... Any ideas or thoughts? This is just a preliminary question to help see where I might be going wrong.I am flying the LDS767 into the new and really very good and very reasonably priced SEQU Quito scenery by Boris Forero (landing elevation 9230 and surrounded by big bits of solid rock, up to 15,900ft paralel to the airport) and twice RC has driven me into the hillside.I am using a plan (SBFZ-SEQU) provided by FS Commander, the QNH is set according to the controllers instructions and they seem to be happy with my altitude, but twice now (origonal flight and pickup from saved .rcd) has given me unflyable (driveable maybe, in a 4x4) instructions whilst descending me from my cruise at FL340 to FL150.…

I'll start by saying how much I enjoy RC. I can't believe I went as long as I did without getting it. It has really elevated my 'sim career!'My question has to do with the volume of pre-recorded chatter. I did a search and see that this has been asked a few times before, usually because of a conflict with another program. I find the chatter volume to be too loud compared to pilot and co-pilot voices, such that when I set the pilot/co-pilot levels to my satisfation, chatter is too loud, and when I set overall volume for chatter OK, then I struggle to hear pilot/co-pilot voices.Yes, I've fiddled with computer and FS volumes, but because these are all inside RC, this obvious…

Hi allI was wondering to things.When i assign a gate in the rc4 menu and then arrive at my destination airport atc clears me to my gate but the gate has another ai plane already parked there. how do i fix this?And what is te correct way of entering the gate number or parking spot so that there isnt a plane parked there?At the moment i am entering where the gate number box is in the arrival airport i am entering "d12" or "a6" and i get cleared to park there but it is being used. And what do i do to enter a parking spot or cargo spot?Thanks for all the help and sorry if thi is an obvious question but answers would be very much appreciated.Richy

Even tho my rig is pretty good (AMD 64 x2 2.6 / nVidia 7900GTX / 2Gb DDR2) it often has difficulty coming out of windowed mode back to normal.As I understand it I have to Alt-Enter in order to reach the taskbar to start RC4 - and as often as not it will hang there and I will have to end the flight and start over.Seeing as I only ever need to Alt-Enter once, just to start RC4, I was wondering if I could start it from my normal windowed mode using a Hotkey or some other trickery.I have no idea how to create or attribute Hotkeys.

If tower requests that I go around, I am passed back to approach. I am then vectored anything up to 60 miles from the destination airport, and eventually back, which can add an hour to flight time. Sometimes I am then told to go around again! Is there anyway of making the delay vectors smaller? Does this happen in real life?

Hi!An old problem, but nevertheless annoying. When i use Radar Contact the gauge showing you the heading don't work. Today i set it heading 080 degrees and it changed it to 360 degrees, sending me of to the north. It was the same in FS9, when i dumped the cessna and any other planes using that kind of gauge. Instead i used a Baron where i did not have the problem.But now - in FSX i would like to fly in the cessna, so is there a solution? When i use MS ATC there's no problem. I can't be the the only one with that problem - my installation isn't that mysterious.. hehe.. CheersLars

hey folks i'm quite new to radar contact very very nice product indeedwhat i wanted to ask: is there a way to accelerate the speech of the controllers and pilots? would be nice if theres a possibility since its a little too slow for me :( any help would be greatly appreciated

I was having problems getting RC to work on my Vista 64 bit machine with FSX. I was ready to give up - but not JD. Finally, we found out that it was an outdated .dll file and I'm glad that we (he) stuck with it! I've been flight simming since the Commodore days and this program is really great - thanks!PS I do have one question left: I note that the manual refers to an "Update Button" to the right of the "Rebuild Scenery" DB; but I don't have that?Rick Abshier

While on the ground, communication between RC4 and pilot is fine. But after a while in the air, there is as much as a 60 sec delay between the controller command and the pilot's response. What could be causing this?I just did a flight where I had this delay problem, along with RC4 thinking I was off course, but I was actually on course. Also, there was a delay in keyboard response. The key assignments worked, but there was a long delay for them to work.RC4 had me so frustrated, I had to kill it and continue the flight using the default ATC. These problems do not happen all the time, but it is happening enough to really make me want to give up on RC4.jps

Ok guys jumped in to give this version 4.3 a tryVersion 3 couldn't stay on my HD for long for several personal reason.First off all great work like the voices far better a great step in the right direction however some aren't that natural but the utility comes in handy too choose voices... I cannot create the path to the r5.csv.I executed the Makerwys.exe on the main PC.r5.csv is created.On the Widefs PC (under Vista) I have defined Microsoft Flight Simulator X (RogerP) (W:)When I check through My Computer the content of drive W: I find the r5.csv. But when I enter the path W:Microsoft Flight Simulator X I get as respons W:Microsoft Flight Simulator Xr5.csv not found. try againHas anybody a suggestion for me ?P.S. Hi,sometimes my STAR begins at over 30 miles from the airport, but anytime I have to tweak with the flight plan in order to be left in peace while passing the last waypoint to begin the procedure as the ATC gives me headings I don't care about.Is there any way to leave the flight plan as it is and extend the STAR acceptance from RC?Thank you Lorenzo

jd,How can I restart FSX from the last FSUIPC autosave and also restart RC at the same restart point.FSx on master PC, RC on client PC with Wideclient.Let us consider 2 situations:I crash (the plane not the PC) and want to restart immediatelyI crash and wish to restart the next day from that last autosave.I am getting confused as no rcd file exist for the autosave (nor on the master PC or on the client PC.

Hi guys, I brand new to Radar Contact (having only bought it at the weekend) and currently feeling a great mixture of excitement and fear whilst working through the manual. Daunting stuff and I haven't even fired it up yet. :)At the moment, I'm still just using the default Flight Planner in FS2004 and haven't invested in any of the more complex, fully featured flight planning software that's out there. Hi,I am having screen blackouts followed by an "FS9 has stopped responding" message when either me or Otto leaves the frequency to get weather on approach to an airport. I have noticed a recent topic on same by BobbyBond2 but my issue is slightly different because I am experiencing it with different aircraft and I am using the FSUIPC display. I have heard that this can be to do with ATC.dll - what is the best course of action to take? Delete the dll? Reinstall RC4? Or are there any other possible causes/solutions?I am running XP 32-bit, FS2004, FS9 RW weather, and the problem is happening at different airports.Many thanksDave
