Hello,I'm an old user of Radar Contact but I've not used it since FS2004. I bought my copy of RC4 when it was first released so it's not compatible with FSX.I understand that their is an update available that makes RC4 compatible with FSX, RC4.3.My question is, is it possible to make my own RC4.3 FSX compatible disc?I was wondering if it was possible to copy all the files from the original disc to my hard drive, then replace the updated files with the 4.3 update and finally burn this to a blank disc, thus making a fully compatible FSX RC4.3 disc!If not, what is the best procedure for installation from the original 4.0 disc?I'm looking forward to getting back into Radar Co…

Sorry, just come back after a long break from using radar contact. I have been trying to change the font colour from red as its hard to read. I know how to change the adventure text box by right clicking but this FSUIP box stays obstinately red. I think that i am right in thinking you do not use the adv. display box (yes?) so how do i get to change this FSUIP box. I tried looking at the FSUIP dll file with notebook but can't see any mention of font colour (sorry my American friends for my English spelling). I'm sure the solution is staring me in the face but i just can't see it. Cheers Rod

Hello,I've just purchased Radar Contact 4.3. I ran the installer, and all was well, until it reached the end where a new window comes up and FSUIPC4 is installed. Unfortunately, when it reaches the point where it is "Now checking for DLL.XML... ...There is a previous DLL.XML, checking for FSUIPC section"the installer freezes, and has to close. I continued to get the key and activate the product, but when I clicked on the 'Start RC' button, an error message appeared saying "Cannot link to FSUIPC or WideClient". I believe that this had to do with the uncompleted installation.Can anyone help me; has th…

HiIve been trying to go the scenery db rebuilding however i really dont understand it. It says it has completed it but still have the same runways like 19L eham. I have downloaded the latest update for make runways.can any1 help with with a step by step guide to do it.ThanksPhil

Did a flight from Roanoke, Va (KROA) to Myrtle Beach, SC (KMYR). Washington Center controlled me all the way and never passed me off to JacksonvilleCenter. Shouldn't that have been the case? Was just curious as to how accurate the various Center areas are depicted in RC because according to maps of the ARTCC areas, Myrtle Beach is in the Jacksonville zone.Thanks for any clarification.Jim

Hello, an idea to improve Rc5I would like to listen the ATIS earlier when i approach to an airport, know the landing runway ealier, ATIS only can be listened some miles near the airport....When i try to link my FCM many times i canot link the STARS becouse i am so near the airpot, and i only can link the runwayWould be great to have te capability of tunning the atis earlier so, we can program ours STARS in the FMC.Thanks

Apologies if this has been covered and answered. I am starting to use RC after a long layoff. I now have ver.4.3 whereas I previously was using ver 4.01.My question is, when I'm told to resume my own navigation, can I track to my next VOR using my acft. instruments, or do I have to follow the direction given in the RC window. I seem to remember before that when I attempted to track using my instruments, I was told that I was off course even though my instruments showed that I was on course.Is this something that was corrected in ver 4.3?Thanks.Jim

1. when flying to a destination and im coming up on approach and they tell me to tune to a freq. and i acknolege, they will continue to ask for me to respond to there freq and when i do they still come back and say to respond.at that point i do not know what to do, and in most cases it is to late for me to try and salvage the flight other than landing on my own.is that just a fluke in software.2. im running 4.3 is there a later version or update , perhaps the problem is i need to update .Thanks...................Robert

Hi there chapsI am finding it a bit difficult to search for this error, as the search thing only allows >=3 characters.The last two flights, both times on climbout, at about 5-6000ft, Radar Contact has quit enexpectedly. Both flights were different destinations and origins etc.It says:"Run=time error '76': RadarContact.fsuipc.rcv4code"I don't believe I've done anything to FSUIPC lately, I have an un-registered version 3.7.5.0.Do you need more info or something, let me know?Cheers, and thanks for any help you can offer :)Rudy

I would have posted this lastnight but I was too upset. lastnight I created a Route from KIAD to KDEN using FSbuild and flying PMDG MD-11. The 2.5 hour flight fought thru some gusty winds at take off that was picked up from ASX weather program. (Great Stuff). Anyways, I sat at my PC for about 25 minutes until reached crusing altitde of 410. AFter, I made some dinner, relaxed a bit listen to some music on my other PC and hung out with the boys. Came back to my PC about 30mins of flight time left. Saw my next waypoint on the MCU had about 30nm to go. But when I looked at RC4 display it had a different waypoint and about 950nm to go. Hello all, It's the first time I am posting here, although I am using RC many years now, since v3. Usually I fly from small regional airports and never faced this problem before. Lately I started flying longhaul usually between large European and American hubs. Problem is that many times after pushback and while engine start other aircrafts that might be on the same taxiway will not stop, will go on and collide with me. Happened a few times while on afterstart checklist and most rare while my aircraft was already in motion. To clarify when I say other aircraft I mean ai traffic. Some reason Menu Select window is not remaining on screen. Always on and off. I can bring bact to screen with keyboard #7, but not much time to read the contents. Tt disappears again. I noticed its not in window mode.There must be a be simple solution, but I dont know.ThanksSanal

Hi all, I have been usinf RC4 for a while but I keep getting a problem when I leave FS9 to start RC4. Every time I try to maximize the view back to full view aftter I start RC4, the windo goes black and fs9 freezes. It doesnt do it when I try to go to window mode and back, without using RC4.I have no ther problems with my computer.Dell XPS gen 2, 3.2 Ghz, 4gb ram, ATI X850 card with 512 mb, Windows XP and so on, nothing unusual here.Any help would be appreciated,Thanks!

I notice that I am consistently being directed on approachat 90 deg to the runway and then at the last minute beingdirected to a 60 deg turn to intercept the ILS. Example,KSDF to KATL landing on 8L I get directed to a heading of185 and then told to turn to 125 and intercept. I have peoplethrowing up in the isles on these turns to final. All the livechatter I hear for major airports for turns to final are aroundthe 30 deg range along with continuous small vectors leadingup to the turn to intercept. RC gives me two vectors, one 90 deg to the runway and then a big last second 60 deg one.Shouldn't my last vector be more like 30 deg? I haven't missed my crossing restricti…

Dear support,during vectors RC doesn't say "turn right heading" or "turn left heading", but only "fly heading". If the turn is small it's unnecessary, but a procedure turn could require more than 180 degrees! FS ATC and also real ATC add always right or left. RegardsStefano

Hi... Just figured for someone to devote so much time and effort to a FREE improvement for us to all use deserves a post of it's own... I downloaded and installed the (10) V2 required files to improve the voice files in RC4 over the weekend... WOW - what a difference a day makes... The install was extremely simple and now RC4 sounds pretty close to what I hear in the the cockpit all the time... I hope the RC5 team is seriously considreing using your talents in the next release... It would be very disappointing to go back to the old style WAV's... I'm having problems identifying the appropriate STAR at destination airports and wondering whether, if I install "RADAR Contact", I'll be given instructions to appraoch and land with the correct STAR. As I'm a "newie" to ATC I'd appreciate guidance.Cliff

Is there a config file or something that allows me to set where RC4 gets weather? i.e. ASA or FSX? RC4 always reports winds calm on final. All to often RC4 assigns runways for take off and landing that are the opposite of what AI is using. Help. :)Bob..

Hi all, I was forced to rebuild my pc and am trying to reinstall RCV43. When I put my activation code in that I recieved when I purchased the software, nothings happens and it continues to to prompt me to activate the software everytime I start RC. Last night I installed the RC4 Software Package and this evening I took my first flight. I used the KDSM - KORD tutorial using the default 737. I made my fair share of errors both with RC4 and the FS9 737 (after using the PMDG/LEVEL-D aircraft its a bit of a step backward). Two quick questions:- In flight, am I told when to turn or am I suppose to watch the menu screen? I may have missed a couple of verbal messages, but I am not certain if I did miss the message. I.E. when I approached either DBQ or BRIBE should I have received a verbal message to turn or should have I been watching the menu?- Some where on my approach onto 32R I must have missed verbally or I selecte…
