im not for sure if this is a radar contact problem but it shows up in the green bar.it will say a build crash and then the flightsim will shutdown and restart , and will continue doing that.is that a radar problem.Thanks......................Robert

Hello, I purchased RC 4.3 download version, and I have been working with it for hours without getting it to work, so now i need some help please... :( I run Vista-64 and FSX, and after RC installation I ran into the msstdfmt.dll problem, but got it registered with regsvr32, and everything looked ok. The problem is that I dont get any contact with ATC, and no chatter. The RC window shows, and if I tune the radio manual I can hear ATIS (From RC-4).But pressing 1, 2, or any other default key combination dont seem to do anything, and tuning the radio to clearance or ground does not help. helloRadar Contact 4.3, FS9, ai traffic set at 66%I'm having a few problems with ai traffic crashing into me while taxiing or on runways and waiting for takeoff clearance. Typically I will be asked to line up and wait by RC - whilst lined up and waiting an ai plane will proceed on its merry way and crash into me causing fs to reset. I have no idea that this is about to happen as I can't hear any fs instructons to ai planes.This has happened a few times now.I'm running FS passengers at the same time and feel frustrated that I have to start the flight from scratch and sometimes end up with my fictictious pilot dead. Hi, all,I just purchased Radar Contact for FSX and began following the steps to start a flight. I started Flight Simulator X, primed it for my short regional flight IFR from JFK to TF Green in Providence, then went into Radar Contact and loaded the same flight. RC really adds to the whole FSX experience but I've yet to figure out runway assignments. :( I was on approach (default 737-800) into San Diego. ASA was running and RC ATIS reported winds 225@22. I was assigned runway 27 for landing - makes sense. As I crossed the numbers I see an AI plane lined up opposite of me ready for departure on runway 9! Yikes! I barely had time for the high speed turnoff before I get run over. I never heard any transmission (yes...I have on Interact with AI and AI chatter) for that aircraft to enter runway 9. Hi,I no longer have a display in RC4, running in FSX. It did up until today, but something must have changed. I only know one change, so I guess that's probably the cause: I deleted my FSUIPC4.ini file, due to some issues in it, perhaps it lost an entry from there? I'm not certain. Keyboard commands still work, after I start it up I can press 2 (well, in my setup, Ctrl+2) and hear ATIS and such. So that aspect works. Just no display window. Search didn't turn anything up, and pressing the "`" key which is supposedly bound to display did nothing. Ok just recieved my new copy of RC yesyerdayInstalled onto my computer and sent off the email via the install process.over 24 hrs later im still awaiting the activation key?is this normal steve

I now have RC4 installed on my C: drive. If I wan't to move it to another d: drive could I just copy the RC folder to d:? Or is it necessary to perform a full uninstall and then reinstall?

I have noted this problem many times when landing on a runway that is in the same direction as the flight direction into your destination airport. For example, flying from the west to the east and landing on an eastbound runway at the destination. RC vectors you to the runway and brings you in pretty far out, approx 25 miles or so from the airport and then says turn to such and such a heading to intercept the localizer. However, at this distance from the airport, I have not yet picked up the ILS signal. If I stay at the intercept heading given by RC, I end up crossing the localizer to the other side. I have been using RC for more than 5 years with minimal problems and a great deal of fun! Currently using FS9, RC4 and AS6 with AES. I was flying the PMDG MD11FI recently upgraded URSS to the very nice freeware Sochi2007 which works with AES and reran the RC4 database. Last night flying in to Sochi I was only offered Rwy 20 and 24 although the active rwy was 06. Later when leaving for OMDB I obtained weather correctly - by FSS dial-up but could not start the clearance which was offered on the ground and in the air. Hi People,I very often get told by the controller "i need you level in xx miles or less". Is there any way to set a ref to this xx miles?As he is not telling me to be level xx miles from a VOR (for example) I can't set a fix.I find I often miss my crossing restriction because of this.RegardsJonster

I recently purchased RC. Installation went great. Flying my way through the tutorials. Completed one flight on my own. Tried to fly another and shortly after takeoff I get a Run Time Error 76 "Radarcontact.fsuipc.rev4code". I have received this error message now for 6 attempts in a row.I have the latest FSUIPC from his sight.FS9 and FSNav runningESTWindows XP Home w/ Service pack 3It was flying/working great for several flights until just now. On flights in the U.S., I hear the RC controller calling AI aircraft, for example, November 317 Charlie Juliet, instead of Cessna 317 Charlie Juliet or Cessna 7 Charlie Juliet, as would be more realistic. Is there something I need to do in RC, or some file I need to adjust in FS2004 to omit the November from the call signs? Airline calls seem to be fine, just the GA flights that seem to be affected.Thanks for any help!

I wasn't sure if there was a RC5 "Wish List" so I thought I would add a couple here.1) In RC5, please add the ability to detect and allow us to manually select which sound-device RC5 uses for its audio output. This is a cool feature in FSX that allows me to select my USB headphones as the audio-only device and having ATC dedicated to the headphones is a great feature that I would love to have in RC5.2) Please give us a way to set the 40nm altitude/speed descent restriction after importing the flightplan. Ive just ordered your product and awiting its arrival.whilst reading the guide pdf it states that radar contact has to be started before FS9. (or have i miss read this)I use fsautostart to close down as many progs and services as poss whilst using FS9 to make it work better.is it possible to start radar contact via a key on the key board if using fsautostart.ie when i sometimes use fsnav i can press F9 and it starts up automatically whilst using FS9 started bt fsautostart. thanks for your help stevei may have answered my own question using the search facility.sorry to waste your time steve

Hi,On certain airport, you need to taxi on the runway and then turn around, to make sure you use the whole runway length (i.e Madeira).In Radar Contact, are you supposed to hold short and then go up the runway when you are allowed to line up?(problem: it can take longer).Is there a way to do this in a realistic way?Thanks!Olivier

When flying over Portugal (specially near Madeira Island) I have heard Radar Contact chatter recordings in Portuguese. The recordings were, in fact, in Brazilian Portuguese (and also referring to Brazilian companies - such as Varig and TAM - and Brazilian airports). They were not recordings done in Portugal. This is not AI chatter (because it Radar Contact, in the case, is not controlling AI traffic, but just adding some "real" chatter to add realism). Having used RC for a number of years now, one thing that frustrates me is the amount of traffic information given. However, listening to the US background chatter, it seems this is based on realistic US operations.So, why do the US controllers give so much traffic information? 99 times out of 100, the traffic info being given is usually about 10 miles away or more and is usually level seperated. In the UK, traffic info is only usually given during avoiding action, or to stop nuisance RA's, where you have aircraft climbing and descending towards each other, but given safe levels.Why do I need to know about aircraft that are radar seperated from me by ATC?
