Need help converting current rc4 install on my pc to widefs another fsx install on new machine(server running vista).I am hoping i dont need to reinstall rc4 to point it to widefs fsx. For ASA weather generator, i just have to update registryI might need to use rc4 with fsx installation on client pc, so is it possible to switch between the two setups as needed. By that i mean 1 - rc4 runs with fsx on same pc (client pc running XP)2 - and i would also like to run rc4 on client pc but with fsx on server pc. server pc has no rc4 install, but will widefs.----------------------------------------1 - Is widefs free like fsuipc, or do i need to pay, where can i purchase if so.2 -…

JD: On my one PC I have RC version 4.2.3831 and want to upgrade to version 4.3.3845. I have the downloaded new 4.3 version and a key that you had sent me, how do I correctly do the upgrade? Should I just install over the 4.2.3831 version or should I uninstall the 4.2 and then install the newest 4.3 version? I looked at the Control Panel in the Add/Remove programs and in there are 2 entries, one for version 4.0 and another for 4.01. Does this complicate things? Thanks, Al

Forgive me if this is covered in a previous posting or - even more embarrasing - in the manual, but: Can I get a simple aircraft registration (such as "N123BC") as a callsign instead of the airline names?BestHolger

Where does RC obtain ILS frequencies? On an approach ILS 27 EHAM, my chart says 110.55 . . . but RC wanted 110.50.Does this type of info come from a currently installed AIRAC cycle, or some other database?Kinda curious to know. Thanks in advance.Slugger

Just got RC about a week ago. Enjoy it very much. Have read the manual and done the tutorials. When landing I show the localizer no problem. However, the glide slope never shows up. What am I doing? Thank you for the program.Richard

Hi guys,I have been using Radar Contact for a couple of years now, but yesterday I had a first-time problem/issue.I was flying the PMDG 737-900 from KMIA to KATL. About 20 nm from KATL already vectored to 7000 ft and ready to turn to the final approach, RC tells me to contact Approach on 127.9 (one of several approach frequencies for KATL - I was landing on runway 8L). On the RC window, however, it says Approach on 124.55. Selecting that option results in no response, except for RC that keeps on reminding me (quite forcefully mind you) to contact Approach on 127.9. The funny thing was I could still "talk" to RC by requesting a visual approach, etc. In the end I chose …

Hi, can anyone point me to a discussion in this forum, or perhaps explain how to add a STAR procedure into RC after you have loaded the flight into the program and are already near your destination, and only then receive the landing and departing runway.

I'm having issues with RC and PMDG MD-11 for FS9. It seems I can't utilize RC when running the MD-11. I can't chose the # keys to communicate with ATC. I can manually tune to them on the COMM radios, but I can't "interact" by using the specified keys.I did not find any keys in the PMDG config that are "already assigned". RC works fine with any other aircraft. Any ideas? Thanks,Rob S.

Hi everybody,I have tried to search this question on the forum but i could only find some people talking few about it. Then, I try to be clear :For example, you are flying from Nice (LFMN) to Helsinki (EFHK) and while you are flying above Switzerland or Germany, you would like to get the latest ATIS or Helsinki airport...is there a way to get it if you dont have software like ActiveSky, etc?It would be very useful. If, before taking off, you noticed a low visibility in Helsinki, you could check regularly the weather then and then, plan better your alternative route...Thank you :)

The whole point of siming instead of gettting our feet wet in a real airplane, is cause, we can break the rules when it suites us.A small controversy still surrounds the conspiracy that Default FSX ATC will not vector you into mountains, while RC4 ATC does not have a clue about mountains near your approach, so just click notams, and bury your face in charts. After some lenghty research on this site, i gather what people are saying on the issue of ATC assist is, they would like there to be a setting to increase ATC handholding 1 - to maximum, where atc will vector you safley around mountains on takeoff or approach, and much more.2 - to minimum, where you go and buy charts …

Go Around / Landing Gear not downhappened to me twice nowperhaps contrary to most AirlinersI was taught by my NWAVA (compiled by real pilots) to lower landing gears with the GS dot going through halfway 1 dot above the horizonbutthis causes RC4 to issue a GA for "noticed you hadn't your landing gear lowered"& "I like my steak medium rare" (or something).. what's with the yoke, Im not an native english speaker. Anyone can explain the yoke? THXanywaywhen does RC4 expect to see the Landing Gear down, to omit a GAor am i missing somethingthxmtVista64 / RC4.3 / FSX SP2

HiI installed Radar Contact Version 4.3.3845 and I have following problems:1. Wehn i try to run RC as Administrator, I have this message " 'Component comdlg32.ocx' or one of its dependecies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid".2. Running "normally" (as user, I suppose) I have the RC window in FSX, but by pressing one of the menu option (1 or 2 etc) I become "Run-time error '75'" RadarContact.fsuipc.rcv4mode" (I have FSUIPC 4 registered version).3. In the "Voice" Option, by clicking one of the pilot voice, this message "Run-time '75' RadarContact.rcv4module.pilot_ack".I uninstalled and reinstalled both FSUIPC and RC with the same result. Can you help me p…

Every flight now I'm getting a problem with the assigned altitude by ATC. For example, my cruise altitude is FL370 and crossing the TA, my altimeters are set to standard pressure. However ATC still thinks I'm above/below FL370 even though my instruments say otherwise and they keep reminding me. One more thing to note, this only happens with the PMDG744. I end up canceling the IFR flight plan and closing the program. This is obviously very annoying.System specs:WinXP 64 BitFSXRC vs 4.3Active Sky AdvancedPMDG 744FThanks in advanced.

I'm getting an issue on certain occasions in RCv4 where the controller has the idea that I am "way off course" and instructs me to fly a heading that seems to take me back to the first waypoint. My plane's GPS shows up saying I had already passed that waypoint, but the controller seems to suggest otherwise.Example:I load a flight plan for KLAX to KOAK... and start my B737. Clearance tells me I'm cleared to KOAK as filed (confirming that RC has the right flight plan loaded), and tower clears me for takeoff on runway 24R, and asks me to resume own navigation. My auto pilot does its thing and takes me to the first waypoint, and so forth, while I am climbing to cruising altitu…

Hi guys i hope you guys can help with a problem that is driving me insane! Please see the screenshots below to help illustrate my problem. When I fly my Airbus Series Volume One aircraft, i try to engage the managed mode of the autopilot so the FMC route will be followed.....this never used to be a problem but just lately the aircraft turns to a completely different heading and flies away from the next waypoint! It seems to want to double back to the coloured circle, in the shot below, most of the time??In the shot below the aircraft makes a really steep turn to the coloured circle but its not the next waypoint! POL is!??Any help you guys can give would very much appreciat…

Every now and then, I have ATC yelling at me because I missed my crossing restriction. I never knew what this meant but I think I figured it out. When the Controller says, "Descend and maintain FL120. Start down now please, I need you level in 30 miles or less," I don't really know if me meant 30 miles from the airport or from where he issued the order. I'm guessing it's 30 miles from where he issued the order. So if I'm not at FL120 30 miles from where he gave the order, is that when I get a missed crossing restriction?Ryan GamurotLucky to live Hawai'ihttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg

When I'm flying to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (EHAM) I would like to land on the current runway in use, as in reallife. But when RC gives you an other runway to land, I try to choose the runway that is in use in reallife at that moment. For example 18R. The ATC-er gives me 18C, so I don't see 18R to choose. I notice this runway is in use for my AI traffic. So, how can I choose the same landing runway as my AI traffic?

In the manual for RC4 there is a short introduction to the RVSM flight levels. It says that between FL180 and FL290, aircrafts with a heading between 0 degrees and 179 degrees must maintain odd flight levelse (FL 190, 210, 230 ...) while between 180 and 359 degrees it must be even flight levels (FL 180, 200, 220 ...).Then above FL290, aircrafts should cruise at levels in 4000 ft intervals, that is FL 290, 330, 370 ... and FL 310, 350, 390 ... respectively. Now I have also read that the latter changes to odd flight levels above FL290, and that makes sense too.BUT - then it talks about 6 new flight levels; FL 300, 320, 340 ... till FL410.Where do these flight levels come in w…
