Well, I am presently using the default 747-400 as a testbed for this autopilot panel, so it is redundant, but once it works without hitches I intend to put this on aircraft that have no autopilot that is working.By working I mean the aircraft.cfg have it, the gauges are there in the VC and CFG, but they are not usable.Anyways, my simple 2D panel that is like this: [Window07]file=Autopilot.bmp size_mm=592,82window_size_ratio=1.000 //position=0visible=0ident=MISC_POPUP_1window_size= 0.200, 0.125window_pos= 0.690, 0.600gauge00=Boeing747-400!Autothrottle Switch, 16,2,32,48gauge01=Boeing747-400!Flight Director Switch, 14,49,32,40gauge02=Boeing747-400!Autopilot IAS-Mach Sw…

Hi Guys, my first post here.I’ve been using AirWrench over the last few days to update my Ag-Cat for FSX, but I’m struggling with a few aspects peculiar to this plane. The first problem is the large change in weight during flight. I’m using the ballast functionality in FSX to simulate the chemical load. The flying weight changes from ±6000kg to ±3500kg as the chemical hopper empties, but there is only a small change in airspeed (with the engine operating at a constant power setting). I think this can be achieved by making parasitic drag dominant over the induced drag?Do you thing AirWrench is a suitable tool to handle this, or will I have to dig deeper into the files t…

Greetings~My big question here is to determine if it's possible to set an independent left / right aileron and have it controlled by a specific joystick axis input? So, one joystick input (axis) would control the left aileron (better known as the brake, on a paraglider), and the other the right.A slightly less priority question of mine is the config file itself for a paraglider. Since this aircraft has a VERY low CG point to the flying surface, it reacts quite differently from most other aircraft. I'm having a difficult time setting up the config file for it. If anyone has any pointers it'd be appreciate (like what attributes are worth setting such as MOI).Any feedbac…

The ADI on the T-38A has a bank steering bar* that provides a visual cue on which direction to steer the a/c for an intercept. When in TACAN Mode and the Normal/Manual switch is in Manual position, the bank steering bar is visible and will provide a cue to steer based on the heading bug's position. The bank steering range limits are +/- 35º*Note: the bank steering bar looks like a yellow, vertical needle like one that's used for a flight director. The 3d "bank steering bar" is keyframe animated from frame 0 to frame 254, so the center point is frame 127.Here is the animation script for the bank steering bar for this specific mode: (L:T38_HSI_NormMan_Switch,bool) (L:T…

Hi all,Triggered by a question (freely translated) in another thread: "is the gauge you are modifying a compiled gauge or an .xml gauge" , I'm very interested in your opinions:In term of ownership/copyright, do you think there is a difference between:1. De-compiling a C/C++ coded gauge, modify it, and compile it again; or modify a C/C++ coded gauge with a Hex editor.and2. Change the text in an XML-coded gauge.Maybe even more basic: what is "copyrighted code" ?A few other examples:- Can somebody claim copyright on contents/lines in an Panel.cfg file ? or Aircraft.cfg file ?- And if not on an Aircraft.cfg: how about an .air file ? Or .mdl file ?I hope you see what I'm getti…

Hi guys, I hope you can help. I am new to XML, what a learning curve. I am trying to recreate the Panavia Tornado Fuel Contents gauge. Everything is working ok apart from my mouse click events. The test button works OK, both needles go to zero. But when I try to use the next mouse event on a different part of the gauge the needles both go to zero instead going to the correct value, which is the wing fuel contents. //------------------------Front / Left Fuel Quantity Needle <Element> <Position X="128" Y="128"/> <Image Name="FT_LF_Needle.bmp" Luminous="1" PointsTo="East" ImageSizes="117,36"> <Axis X="18" Y="18"/> </Image…

Hello everyone,Would someone be willing to rewrite a couple of gauges that were originally meant for FS98, so that I will be able to use them in FSX?These are three gauges that handle Crew Dialogs and Pushback. Ive used them for years but now I switched to FSX they no longer work, and I really miss it!Have already asked the original author if he would be willing to, but he said no.I have no knowledge at all in programming gauges, so hence the question if someone here is able and willing to.......Thanks in advance!Jaap

in order to fly Goose missions, I think I need the original panel. I replaced the original with another panel, and it seems that I cannot fly Missions in the Goose and get sound (ANY mission). Since the panel configurations are called out in the .fly file, I believe the PANEL must be the same as the panel used by the designer. I have asked this question in the FSX forum and have gotten no response. So to try out this theory, would someone reply to this topic and attach the original MS Goose panel ?Thanks very much.David Hinson

Hello,I am using the Friendly Panels GPS addon in conjunction with the Dreamfleet Boeing 727 addon. I have installed the Bendix KLN 90B GPS to the forward center pedestal of the 3D cockpit. However, during night the backgrond of the forward center pedestal appears black around the Bendix KLN 90B GPS. I already asked how to fix this in the Dreamfleet 727 support forums, but I sadly did not get any reply for month. My idea now is to simply create a gauge that does nothing more than to display a bitmap. I would do screenshots of the forward center pedestal and simply make a gauge of it which does nothing more than to show the bitmaps so that the area does not get black anymor…

Hi Everyone,I decided to play with a gauge that works fine (thanks Hodge001) via 2D panel and see if I can get it working in the iFly 737NG VC panel. I finished the graphics and they look nice, but I'm having a problem as shown below in the second image. If you take a look at the image below you will see the panels gauge is located in the LE DEVICES section. They are click-able and work to open/close all doors. You would think all I need to do is change the coordinates to line it up with my gauge right above the LE DEVICES, but it doesn't work. As soon as I move the gauge outside the LE DEVICES window the click-able spots and text disappear. Don't know what to do, or if the…

While eating dinner and watching a bit of TV to relax a bit, I got to thinking about the problem with only having a single <Update> section allowed in any given XML script......and it occurred to me that by setting up several sections of "timers," one could have as many update frequencies as one could possibly want!Since the <Update> has no "Frequency" specified, it will run at 18/Hz rate, but the timers will only execute the contents of the if{...} condition per the time modulo set... <Update Hidden="Yes"> <!-- 1.0 SECOND UPDATE --> (P:Absolute time, seconds) 2 % 1 > ! if{ <!-- PLACE XML HERE--> } <!-- 0.5 SECOND UPDATE --> …

Hi,Can someone take a look at this, I've been working on this for over 18 hours and just can't get the damn thing to lineup, as soon as I move the position coordinates the gauge disappears from FSX. Here is the gauge file.Gauge Cab FileThe gauge is going to be placed on the pedestal and is suppose to control Main Door, Aft Door/Fwd Service Door, Cargo Doors. Thanks

Hello,Since it looks like Airsimmer is gone, I decided to begin some heavy modifications on the Wilco A32x to bring it up to par. I've taken care of everything from autotrim to sounds thus far, but now I have two problems which I need more hardcore coders to look into. After fixing these problems, I will be releasing a guide to my updates, which means that your help would be helping everybody who owns the Wilco A32x serries. The problems are broken down below.1. APU Startup Timesa. The APU flap on the Wilco product opens immediatley after hitting the APU master switch. In the real aircraft it takes 20 seconds for it to open. Here I only need to create a delay. Since there…

Hi !It's been a long time we try to develop a gauge using ACES RESOURCES EDITOR, and we are stoped because we don't success to display correctly our heading in the center of our element. If someone can test our gauge and help us, it will help us to advance. The code : <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><SimBase.Document Type="AceXML" version="1,0" id="horizon_artificielle"> <Descr>AceXML Document</Descr> <Filename>horizon_artificielle.xml</Filename> <SimGauge.Gauge id="horizon_artificielle" ArtDirectory="C:\TestGauges"> <FloatPosition>0.000,0.000</FloatPosition> <Size>200,200</Size> …

I have been reading everything I can get my hands on about writing gauges for FS9 in XML. I started very simple with the first part of the tutorial from FS2X site. I used Xchanger XML Lite to compile this, saved it to the FS9 gauges folder and tried to add it to an existing panel for a test BUT...it does not show up in the Add a Gauge. I did an "explore" in XP of the gauge folder in FS9 and the gauge is there. So, I manually edited the panel.cfg. Added the bmp to the panel folder. Go back into FS Panel Studio and when uploading the panel the program says there is no gauge and no bitmap. I have been doing this with much frustration for a while now. I tried to load th…

Hi, guys. I'm not a panel developer in the least so please excuse me if this is a rudimentary question.I would like to resize the iFly 737NG panel to 1/2 height and eliminate the annoying center post and hand hold, and have the window only the height of the actual panel itself. When I open the panel.cfg in FSPanel Studio I see that the panel "background" itself is not a traditional .bmp image but a full blown gauge. The PFD and other flight instruments are separate gauges. When I grab the panel gauge from the top, of course FSPanel Studio doesn't eliminate anything, it's designed to just compresses the gauge and the holes and placement areas for all of the other instr…

I'm wanting to substitute the default FCU in the Grabowski ERJ panel with the vasFMC FCU. So far, I have not had any problems adding vasFMC PFD and ND to the panel - and it looks good so far. I was able to add the vasFMC FCU gauge to the basic panel window, but I had to add it on top of the existing FCU. The new FCU covers the default FCU just fine and it works, however, when I turn on the panel lights I get some flickering of the default panel lights under my added FCU gauge. Because the default FCU is part of the main panel, I cannot just substitute gauges. What I'd like to do is "blackout" or cut out the portion of the panel under the glareshield containing the FC…

Hi all,Over the last couple of days I have added Shockwave 3d Redux lights to several payware aircraft I own.Everything looked great, but the beacons, when turned on, are showing black textures. When turned off the issue is gone. However the lights with their shinings work.It only appears with beacons....With Vista I never had this. Now with W7 64bit I do.I also asked about this on the Shockwave forum, but they do not visit their own forum very much. If there is a solution I would be glad to hear it.

Hey Guys, need some help lol. I`m a hobbyist, who is willing to put in the time to modify some gauges in order to make them work. As you know vasFMC 2.1 is fundamentally different animal. Its pretty much based off a new architecture, were the fsautopilot is complelty bypassed, for a complete custom airbus autopilot. Thus certain gauges like autoenvironment v1 by Mr. Becker, specifically the autoland and VNAV gauges have stopped functioning properly. My thing is can anyone help with sorting this out, cause vasFMC have declined to offer assistance as they first do not support 3rd party gauge tinkering and they just dont have the time with some issues with the new release. t…

I saw the news on the AVSIM front page about Repaint Wizard and downloaded the demo from flightsimtools (limited to the default C172 and B737 planes). It's basically a helper for repainting aircraft that does all texture conversions for you and immediately displays the updated model in FSX. It isn't an actual texture editor, but can be pretty seamlessly integrated with every image editor out there. I have to say I like the demo very much - it's really great to see changes in FSX as you are editing, really speeds things up.Before I shell out the money, has anyone tried the payware version? I wonder how well it works with addon airplanes, because the free demo doesn't let yo…
