I searched for the answer to this question before posting so I apology in advance if I missed it. I'm attempting to get FDSFX to work with FSX and have installed according to the instructions. When editing the panel.cfg I add a new Window entry to the next available number, which in the case of all the FSX aircraft is 10 or above. My question is, when I'm in game, how do I access a window11 (for example) when shift+9 is the highest I can go? Here is my AirbusA321 panel.cfg. // Panel Configuration file// Airbus A321// Copyright © 1999-2003 Microsoft Corporation. Could anyone tell me how I can take the EICAS Panel from the lear45 in fsx and use it as (preferably) a pop up window, i.e. shift + (9) key for example, in my epic dynasty a/c panel. I redceived a thread from tail dragger driver which explained how to do this with the pfd in the bombardier, but made a mistake and wish to use the EICAS gauge instead, and am not able to relate the two together, as the cfg file for the lear45 is different and confuses me.

Some time ago I uploaded a file rpn2.zip to conveert infix to RPN for gauges. Subsequently, I seem to remember someone else offering a similar (possibly better) tool. I can't find it in the library - does anyone know of/have a link to it?

{loop}{next} outside of <String>? Can {loop} {next} be used outside of <String> (for example, in an <Update> section), and if yes, can someone show an example syntax? I would like to perform some operations within a {loop}. I'm not referring to the display of a series of values inside {loop}{next} within a <String> within an <Element>. Nor the type of loop that can be created by utilizing the gauge update cycle rate plus cycle counters and if{ statements. Rather, a loop of instructions/calculations that can be performed in the same gauge update cycle, so I am wondering if {loop} can be used outside of a string. Make any sense? Many Thanks.…

I have yet to get the hang of this and I am exhausted searching through forum after forum only to find really open ended and broad answers. Can someone please provide a clear and concise tutorial or procedure on how to create a bitmap using lets say photoshop that will be transparent when used in a gauge. To be clear as to what I mean take a look at this MFD - I am trying to make a window like the Airspeed and Altitude tapes that will be transparent like the ones in that image. I hope someone has the patiences to teach me this incredibly frustrating skill.

Hi, I was wondering how do you place gauges into other panels. For example, I want to place the iFly 747 FMC into a 737 panel that I have. I tried to copy the lines for window 7 (FMC panel) on the iFly 747 panel.cfg and pasted them into my 737 panel.cfg, but to no avail. I am aware that merging gauges is possible, but what is the correct way? Oh, and this is strictly for my personal use, I have no intent to upload this to a flightsim website so do not tell me that this is illegal and rude, I am doing this ONLY FOR ME.

I've just downloaded and installed this out of curiosity. There's some really interesting stuff in there on using Direct3D over SimConnect but be aware: the gauges.h file is the original Microsoft one (despite now being headed 'copyright Lockheed-Martin'), so for anything approaching serious development you'll need the fsxgauges_sp2.h and conversions.h files from the sd2gauxx series. -Dai

Sooo, is it possible to change the direction which the rotor spins? I have a dodosim heli where the rotor rotates counter clockwise (like most american helos) I wanted to change the rotor spin clockwise (european style), is it possible to do this by modyfing the .cfg or .air file? I have been tweeking with them but didnt find anything usefull.just to mention I modified a few of the parameters on the .cfg file like p_factor_on_yaw and gyro_precession_on_yaw parameters. with no much change on the simulation thanks for the help . fred

As you know, the knobs (SPD, HDG and ALT) in the default FSX A321 autopilot are clicked to activate the function, and then turn a shade darker - but only a little, and really difficult to see the difference at a glance. The images for these knobs must be in the Airbus_A321.cab file in the Panel folder, and there appear to be three or four .bmp files for each knob (off, off/night, on, and on/night).Is there someone out there who can extract (or already has?) these images, change the colour a bit (maybe white for off and black for on, or at least clearly different), and then fit the .cab file together again?!Incidentally, the default A321 appears to share this file with the…

Hi all, I have pretty much successfully got my HNAC A300 panel to work in FSX, the only problem is that I can't actually fly the airplane because I can't get the overhead panel to open up to initialise the systems. When I click the clickspot for the overhead panel the view out of the window shifts up but the overhead never appears. It is not listed in the Instrument panel menu either. I have no experience with panels or editing, can anyone point me in the right direction please to get the overhead to appear. Many thanksGarry

Hi to all...is there anyone doing (or planning to do) a better-shaping model of the King Air 350?I've seen people that have made great models of other king airs, but sadly, none seem to tackle the 350...I admit I'm getting sick of the default... and its the very airplane I'm flying for work also...nothing fancy... just a new 3d model that can be repainted on all sides (though making the VC will also be a nice option too), everything else from the default can be retained...I'll provide references straight from the manuals (by e-mail) for anyone who will take this...thanks much guys! :(

Hey there. I'm in the process of trying to add a switch click sound to the avionics master switch, and here is what I have so far, yet I'ts still not giving me any sound. Would anyone happen to be able to browse through this to inform me as to why it isn't working? Here is the code as well as the location as to where I placed all my files. Thank you I have placed the sound file in the main fsx Sounds folderI have an avmastersound.dll placed in my gauges folder along with the avmastersound.iniI have the avmastersound.xml placed in a folder named avmastersound which is in my panel folderLastly, I have the dsd_xml_sound3.dll and .gau placed in the gauges folder Panel.cfg:gau…

Rob, On several photo's on airliners.net of a 747-200 I saw a light what should come up when the plane/pilot deviates from the glideslope, and goes below the glideslope. Above is not covered. The light is marked with 'Below G/S'. Can you give some guidance, as a xml guru, on how to write such a gauge ? Adding a sound to it I think I can master. Johan It should be fitted in my setup as shown below.. :-)

Hello Everyone, I will try and explain this as precisely and quickly as possible. I am flying the Overland 737-700 for FS9. I am using a Southwest Airlines add-on livery. I downloaded a set of reworked virtual cockpit textures. Using the DXTBmp program, I loaded the files into Photoshop to do some further editing. I was able to edit the replacement textures with no problem, I could save them as a .bmp directly from Photoshop and they would load no problem. Once those were to my liking I downloaded a set of replacement night textures for the VC. There was only one that I wanted to edit, to coincide with changes I'd made to the VC texture. I used the same process, loaded it…

I have a gauge I am trying to get working in FSX to display the barometric pressure in my plane. The partial code is: <Element> <Position X="33" Y="85"/> <Text X="60" Y="12" Length="8" Fixed="Yes" Font="Arial" FontHeight="0" FontWeight="400" Charset="Default" Attributes="Normal" Adjust="Center" VerticalAdjust="Center" Multiline="No" Color="#C0C0C0" BackgroundColor="transparent" Bright="Yes" UseTransparency="Yes"> <String>%((A:BAROMETRIC PRESSURE))%!4d!mbar</String> <Failures> <SYSTEM_ELECTRICAL_PANELS Action="Freeze"/> </Failures> </Text> </Element> It only displays 0 mbar. What am I doing wrong?…

Hi, I decided to install SP2 of the FSX SDK (having used SDK-SP1a upto now)I know, long overdue :-) , but after migrating FSX to a new PC I gave it a go. However, after installation of SDK-SP2, a lot of files are missing.Like:- In the SImObject Creation Kit folder, the entire SimObject Container SDK folder.- In the Panel and Gauges SDK folder, most of the .html files. E.g. file Panel Configuration Files.html Tried this a few times from scratch, same result each time. What I did: 1. Install SDK-RTM from the original FSX disk.Resulting size of the SDK folder: 173 Mb, in 1138 files and 117 folders. 2. Install SDK-SP1a. The Installer warns me it removes the current SDK first.…

New to design here. When watching AI aircraft turn, they drag their nosewheels. I am testing a new model F-100 and this aircraft model does the same. Only difference is the nosewheel moves in the proper direction. It is almost as if the real nose gear is behind the visual one if that makes sense. So, where can I go to educate myself on this. Is it a Aircraft.cfg thing or is it in the air file? I have not yet begun to model yet, I am quickly educating myself on .cfg files first. So please point me if you would into the right direction? I searched tillers here to no avail. Turn search made my teeth fall out prematurely so. Thanks for the help! :(
