Hi Folks,I have way too many variations of the same aircrafts that FSX must open each time I want to pick one out. I know that there are a lot of people who like the different liveries but I personally don't care for more than 2 or maybe 3 maximum. If there's nothing different about the plane but the paint job I'd like to get rid of them in such a way as to reinstall them should I desire. So does anyone have a suggestion on how I can remove or at least make my extra planes "invisible" not only to me, but to the FSX program?Keep in mind that the goal is to get FSX to load faster and speed up the time it takes to open the window to choose a plane. My first guess is to surgi…

Hi folks,I normally fly only in daylight, but now the days are getting shorter I often find I am arriving at dusk or at night. The 737-800 model I'm using is good. It is derived from the default, but with better characteristics thanks to friends adapting the Aircraft.CFG and AIR files. The landing lights work fine, but there are no taxi lights or runway turnoff lights, and really I need these for taxiing at dusk and night.I've examined the [Lights] section of the Aircraft.CFG file, and a few selected .fx files, and read the appropriate sections of the FSX SDK -- the bits on the CFG and FX file formats. I tried to define a nose-wheel landing light as a taxi light, using numb…

Hi,I'm a newbie here and I'm looking for some help.I just installed a new Samsung 20" monitor, 1680x1050 resolution, and found - as you probably already know - that every panel is stretched, noticeably for the gauges locations that are now oval.I read some posts here about the issue, and gave a try with some solutions, but with no success, probably because each case was slightlydifferent from my situation and panel.cfg configuration. In one case, I obtained simply that my gauges disappeared, and I had to restore the original configuration from my backup. Now, I would like to have a standard operative sequence to follow in order to get a proportioned and not distorted panel…

A Happy New Year!I'm working on a wide screen panel but have problems to find the right settings for the panel.cfg.Maybe it's too obvious? Anyways, I hope someone will give me a helping hand:The main panel bitmap is 1680 x 1050 so fitting to most 22'' widescreen monitors. In the panel.cfg I use "size_mm=1680,1280" and the bitmap shows up correctly. But the gauges don't! Their height is compressed so they need corrected height-values to show up correctly. For example a square gauge of 100 x 100 px would need to be assigned x,y,100,125 to appear as a square. That's annoying - there must be a better solution but I allredy spent hours without success...Ah, I tested things in FS9,…

How to increase descend rate in AI aircrafts (for landing)? After installing AI aircraft flightplans for Bolzano, Italy (LIPB) all AI aircraft are not able to land at this airport. They are making go-arounds as descend time and rate is not allowing to reach runway level. Most probable due to mountain scenery they start descendig to late and with standard descent rate they are not reaching runway level? How to chage this?BRBenio

You shouldn't try putting a virtual cockpit texture onto a part that uses a visibility tag?The problem was, I have a radio stack, and when certain radios were off I would hide their VC display using a visibility tag and replace it with an off display (I had to do this so I could get the self emissive lighting of the radio display working nicely). Problem was, when the VC texture was hidden all the mouse zones of the other radios would stop working as well.Took my a couple of hours to figure out what was the problem and the solution was to use an animation to move the displays out of view rather than use visibility tags. But then I did it again a couple of days ago and I ha…

Possibly the last release as with Microsoft having canned the FS series there isn't much more to say. I know I haven't covered GDI but the jury's still out on that one.-Dai

Hi, I generally avoid using the G1000 because it has some shortcomings that I do not like, the worst being that the popup gauge is a separate entity from the in-panel version and settings do not transfer over...However, the recently released Phenom uses the g1000 code - with a much improved user interface, but still has one irritating problem..When selecting an Approach, via the PROC, ENT buttons: first time through, the PROC page that displays only shows one approach, not a list of approaches to choose from.To get the list, you either have to scroll down to the approach shown and turn the inner FMS button, or hit CLR twice and repeat the PROC, ENT sequence, after which i…

I have created a test gauge in FS9 xml that displays Flight plan data. The following shot shows 3 instruments depicting the FLTPLN.1. The Test Flight plan Listing gauge.2. Radar with FLTPLN line displayed.3. Data MFD with page relating to FLTPLN.From (3) it will be noted that the FLTPLN consists of 17 legs, The test instrument (1) can only display up to 14 legs. The purpose of the test instrument is to display well in excess of 30 legs.I need help getting the test instrument listing to Scroll .The listing is loop based , rather than a Bitmap .Any help with implementing scrolling of the list would be greatly appreciated.CheersKarol

Hi!I have a nasty feeling that I'm asking a dozy question here, but here goes...I'm perfectly happy with moving whole panels between a/c; installing new pop-up windows in panels; using/resizing switches/gauges from one a/c in another; moving pop-up window placements around - you get the picture I'm sure. But I've been stumped by the idea of adding a "switch" to a panel which is really just a shortcut to an external Exel spreadsheet.I've recently found (years later than most folk I imagine!) a handy descent rate Exel-based calculator. As a keen user of Cargo Pilot I often find myself accepting a new job before realising that I'm flying into somewhere at night that doesn't …

So im using a combo panel i put together myself. But the reason for this post is a problem im encountering. The PFD, ND, ECAM, Lower ECAM, FMC are from vasFMC. These are integrated into the Project Airbus A380 without VC model. They worked fine with this model type. However with the release of the Project AIrbus A380 VC model i added my 2d panel with the VC cockpit (Which uses vasFMC gauges). There lies the problem, here is the excerpt of what the problem is. it maybe unclear, so please feel free to ask for clarifications!http://forum.vas-pro...pic.php?id=1406 But yes, if that link does not work here is the excerpt Hey all, First thing foremost, Downloaded the new gauge s…

The title pretty much says it all.I get a message that pops up; hitting "D" does no good. FWIW, B works correctly for setting the altimeter.I've emailed RXP but had no response. I think it must be a one-man operation or something... ??Thanks,Andrew

With all the searching I've done here and elsewhere, I just can't seem to find something that works.I'm trying to figure out how to get pixels in the 2D panel bitmap to be transparent... two methods I've seen mentioned are making the uppermost leftmost pixel a specific color, and supposedly every other pixel with that exact color becomes transparent... didn't work.I've also seen that anything 0,0,0 will be transparent. Didn't work either! It may be that I'm not saving correctly. I have Photoshop and GIMP and have tried both. I'd also like to be able to preview the transparency in the image editor somehow.Any help appreciated...cheersAndrew

Hello guys i need some help with the section 1534 in the .air file. I want to fine tune the " *CoL Offset Fore+/Aft-(ft) " but i don't know how. I currently has put the "CoG" inside my aircraft.cfg which is this :empty_weight_CG_position= 0.813, 0.000, 0.000 and my ref point is this :reference_datum_position= 0.000, 0.000, 0.000Can someone please assist me of how i can do this? Also i have noticed that the most aircraft they have about 130 sections in their .air file but the default A321 of the fsx has only 58. So if i need to fine tune an aircraft for the fsx should i need only to have inside .air file these 58 sections only and the rest is taken from aircraft.cfg? Many…

Ok, so, here's what I'm trying to do:Set up what will eventually (probably) be 3 screens for IFR training. FYI I am running pretty low levels of everything, except maximum detail to get custom airport buildings, trees, etc. in place and visible, and I have the ground texture highest res for when I use TileProxy. Pretty much everything else is way down, though, and this is on a Dell Optiplex 330. I'm set to 20fps and have been maintaining that. I am now using the RXP T and N as well as the 430. Pretty smooth!I've been working on the "main panel" which is basically a six-pack, 2 vors, adf, the clock, whiskey compass, GPS/VOR feed for vor 1, and so far that's it. The backgro…

I haven't bought the software - the manual seems to say that the night lighting feature only works for certain versions of FS - but not FSX. I emailed them but have not received a response. Can anyone say whether or not it works in FSX?FWIW I'd like to dim down some of the included panels/instruments.thanks,Andrew

HiI'd thought I'd post this here before posting at simforums. I've been using FSPS for awhile and I'm really good with it. Changing gauges etc. But I want to make a really realistic panel for the king air 350. I'm going to use mostly payware gauges. One of my questions is how do I make switches control what I want them to. For example if I made a switch for my left bleed air how would I make it control that. Or if I took a couple of switches from the aeroworx b200 since they kinda look the same would it control what it was supposed to when I moved it to the 350. Like it was in the 200. I also might release it so I'd prefer to use my own gauges. Thanks for the help Lee.
