Hi all, I'd like to learn how to edit VC panels; i.e. add RXP 430/530 to them and whatnot. I've done some searching but haven't come up with any good tutorials on how to do this, so if someone could point me in the right direction I'd very much appreciate it! Also, is FS Panel Studio required for doing this sort of thing? Thanks, Scott

Hey! I use the Bear Studios MIG-15 as an AI aircraft.... When it takes off, quiet after coming off from the ground it starts shooting the gun, and all the time as long as it is in the air it continues shooting... till a moment before touch down, and then it stops shooting. Strange! But how can I stop that? Greetz Jive1

I have the Just Flight A320. I would like to be able to open the MCDU using a keyboard stroke so I can transfer it to my Saitek yoke. Right now I can only open it by pressing on the icon on the 2D panel. Is this possible ? Thanks skip d

Hi. I`m new to FSX repainting (quite good at FS9). The models in title are WAY too shiney in FSX. How do I reduce it. Something to do with "Specular maps?" Cheers. Eddie

Is there a way to adjust the AP Altitude Reference while in Altitude Hold mode, and not immediately have the autopilot seek this new altitude? I assume I can keep the Altitude Reference in a separate variable and only set if for the autopilot when the user explicitly selects a vertical mode, but it would be easier if I could adjust the AP Altitude Reference and somehow keep the airplane at the current altitude..

I'm in the process of writing an XML routine for a high performance aircraft but find when using the command: if{ @VSIOffset 1200 + (>K:AP_VS_VAR_SET_ENGLISH) } the @VSIOffset macro result is a computed value up to 20,000 meaning I need the aircraft to climb or dive at that rate, for a short time. The maximum vertical rate the AP system will take is 9900 feet per minute in either direction, is there somewhere I can increase this value, scratched around in most common places and can't find it. Thank you in advance.

Hi all, I'm looking for an accurate, non-framerate-killing Vision Microsystems VM1000: http://www.visionmic...uct/vm1000.html I see that it comes with a few aircraft here and there (I think...) - would prefer standalone to add to a 2d IFR panel. The ORBX Lancair looks interesting. That said, if there's a high-quality aircraft with a VM1000 I can add to my own panel I'll take a look. Thanks! Andrew

Hi,I'm looking for a way to to open/close a camera view (defined in the aircraft.cfg with a hot-key) in a XML gauge. But: within the space defined by the gauge definition in the panel.cfg(i.o.w.: so I can include a camera view anywhere in the panel).Any idea if this is possible ??And if so, how ??If not possible:Is there a way to control the screen position/size of a new view, from a configuration file ?At least, that gives me the possibility to automate the manual dragging/resizing of a new view, e.g. onto a transparant spot in a 2D panel or panel-window.Thanks, Rob

Hi, now we have the PA A380's VC, then why is the 2D cockpit & panel still made of A320? I'm sure not only me but a few people hates to see an A320 panel & 2d cockpit in the A380 as it look awkward....any help to find another panel to merge with the bird? Thanks in Advanced!

I think I've run out of ideas on this one, so I'm hoping someone else has seen this problem. The display is for a nav system, but it appears that the IMAGE_USE_ERASE flag is just not being applied when the leftside string updates. The string display code for both sides is identical (except for things you'd expect, like co-ordinates!): - and so is the update code: //--------------------------------------------------------------------------- FLOAT64 FSAPI ins1_lat_string_cb(PELEMENT_STRING pelement) { ins1_LatitudeDisplay(); sprintf(pelement->string, "%s", ins1_lat); REDRAW_IMAGE(pelement); return 0; } //---------------------------------------------…

I have recently added GSX to my mix and noticed that it responds to aircraft placement only if correctly placed on the AFCAD footprint. I am subsequently in the process of adjusting the footprints and "T" positions in the AFCAD for the airports as I fly to them. Problem is that placing the footprint and the correct T values (40-56-76) works for all other aircraft except ConcordeX. The "small gate" that ATC assigns the ConcordeX puts it too far forward to activate the Jetway. Using the corrected footprint for "heavy gate", however, always places it just right. Is there a procedure to change FSX ATC so that it assigns a "heavy gate" instead of a "small gate" for Concor…

Hi folks, I want to create a 2D panel for the CS707 for FSX. I have a good main panel bitmap. Tested a few VC gauges and found them to work fine when added to this 2D panel bitmap. Tried positioning the gauges using the demo version 22737 of FSPS. Get message that gauge does not exist. Is there a way to make this work ? I will buy the full blown version if it I can at least position the gauge outlines...seeing them fully in the editor would be a bonus... Will FSPS save the positioning even though it apparently cannot read the gauges correctly ? Thanks

Hi all - Two quick questions: 1) Can FS Panel Studio address multiple monitors in any way? Not sure it matters. 2) I have a setup that shows only large primary gauges on my main monitor, and the radio stack and a GPS with a small out the window fiew on the 2nd monitor. When I start up a specific flight, all windows are as I left them - except the out-the-window fiew on the 2nd monitor extends off the monitor (as if it's sized to fit the whole monitor) and the radio stack/gps windows must be resized to get them to appear properly. Any way around this? thanks, Andrew

Hello everyone,I've read some threads that touch on this, but I'm hoping some guys like Herve or one of the other gurus can shed some light on this question. We can start by saying that jets are much more straight-forward than turboprops to model. Throttle position sets CN2 in TBL1503 and 1504; TBL1502 sets the relationship between CN2 and CN1; TBL1506 sets thrust; TBL1507 sets Ram Drag; TBL1505 sets the spooling of the engine. And I think we can say the .cfg entries are straight forward. We can now say that the relationships between the tables for a turboprop, at least for me, don't really follow the straight-forwardness of the jet. Here's an example:I'm modelling a PW1…

As long as I've had FSX (and previous titles) I've never once got into `the inner depths' of it.. Lately though I've been on a FSX addiction.. So today I tackled paneling and my panel virginity has been broken and I think I'm addicted. I retrofitted out my 182RG. Didn't have many gauges to choose from as my hanger is small and a bunch have knobs modeled into the plane itself. Then I bought some FLT gauges (might buy FLN now), then that lead into beginning to retexture the entire interior with higher resolution textures.I'm tired, but I'm happy and just wanted to share because I'm happy I went from not knowing how to comprehend a panel cfg to fully understanding it and co…

I downloaded and installed the 737-800 Panel with Trinkets by Skilaeb Dygsbi at another site. It is a great panel for the default 737-800 and has an FMC. I have tried asking at the other site Forum but have received no answer. There is no e-mail for Skilaeb. I get an error when trying to use the HUD. It says configuration error - Check your ini file. The entry in the panel.cfg is:HUDCA$/config!config, 0,0,,, ./gauges/HUDCA$/B737config.iniI don't know what this is as there is no HUDCA$/config gauge or any ini entry. Can anyone here please help me? Thanks, Bob.

Hello!For quite a while now, I've been trying to create a formula for fuel flow. However, no matter what formulas I use it just won't work.I've searched the Avsim forums, FSDeveloper forums, all sorts of websites and also gone through the documents at http://www.aero.sors.fr/afsd.html.The formulas I have for now, are:TBL1506 = (q * S * CD) / (F_STATIC * delta2 * F_SCALAR)CD = CD0 + ((CL^2) / (pi * e* (b^2 / S)))CL = W / (q * S)FG = TBL1506 * F_STATIC * delta2 * F_SCALARFR = TBL1507* A_INLET * delta2 / (theta2^0.5) * v_TAS * 1.68781 / gFF = TSFC*(FG-FR)Could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong here?

I'm very new to panel editing. I just purchased the Mindstar G1000 and would like to add the PFD, MFD, and audio panel to the flight 1 cessna 172. It is my understanding that Flight 1 panels are easier to edit compared to other 3rd party aircraft (at least that is what I was told), so hopefully this isn't too difficult. While I would like to add the G1000 to both the 2D and VC panel, I'd like to try the 2D panel 1st.My first question - do I need to use a paint program to modify or cover the default gauge locations on the original bitmap main panel file? Can you add a large gauge like the G1000 using FS panel design studio?I also noticed that the flight 1 cessna 172 panel …

I downloaded and installed Ziggy's Beechcraft Baron 58 TC (turbocharged). Works fine. I then wanted to modify it to use the Garmin 1000 that comes in the FSX package. Now I know next to nothing about doing this other than seat of the pants, so compared the basic aircraft.cfg files from both aircraft root folders. Modified the 58TC cfg to have another fltsim that I dropped in from the default baron's Garmin 1000 section. Copied the appropriate model, texture, and panel folders over into the 58TC's folder, and compared other areas of the two cfg files to tidy up needed areas.Pretty much works great except: In the original default G1000 Baron, on the IAS strip the division fr…

Few days ago I swept the dust from some old C++ code I have used to build custom DLLs; found interesting snippets from which to make a rebuilt and the result is XMLVARS.DLL. This small but powerful module enables de use of custom variables -kind of LVars- for storing and retrieving data across the entire gaugeset of an aircraft panel. Like Lvars, this variables can have any name, can hold numeric values of any kind and, unlike LVars, can also handle string values. Besides, they can handle *standard* multidimension array-style manipulation of data, a powerful tool that is not possible to work with through the native LVarset unless a complex group of macros is suited for th…
