For the life of me I can't figure out how to make the 321 fly my flight plan with the GPS. I have the nav/gps button set to GPS and I've tried clicking on everything I can find in the cockpit to make it follow the GPS.I don't know if this is the right forum to ask this question but none of the others seem to apply. Tip & Tricks doesn't allow questions (?)Thanx! :)

Hi everyone,I've been using FSDS 3.5 with no problems for about a year. I've compiled 9 complete aircraft. Just the other day, I was wrapping up a Su-35 and when I went to compile, I imediately got a message saying "Error saving temp file". I haven't changed my settings or anything since day one. I've tried compiling other aircraft I've already compilded several times before, and the same thing happens. I completely uninstalled and reinstalled FSX Acceleration, the SDKs, and FSDS 3.5, SAME THING. I don't know if the problem is with FSDS suddenly, or my computer? Any help would be great! Thanks guys.

When adding a new gauge using FSPanelStudio the dialog box doesn't allow access to all of the stock aircraft gauges. For example, the Lear 45 cab file is not available in the list, so I can't select a Lear gauge. Of course, I DO have access to my plane's "panel folder". I'm trying to finish this plane up to upload as freeware here at Avsim, but I'm leery of the legal ramifications of copying gauges or cab files from the stock aircraft folders to my plane's panel folder in order to include them. So, FSPanelStudio doesn't show the other planes' gauges in the list, but is there a way to reference them anyway via direct edit of the panel.cfg file, by including a path in the g…

Hi, before I continue Im not sure if this is the right place to post about this topic, anyway recently Ive been after a plane with an fms. Had not much hope but came across with this freeware plane called the posky 777. Ive checked it out and looks good. Im just unsure if this has all the systems. The 777 has gauges and Ive seen the video, looks good but Im here to ask wether or not it has an operating FMS (FMC)If it doesn`t I need to buy an FMC (Frendlypanels has some nice ones) thanks and have a happy new year ;)

If it ever helps you save some debugging time .... :)(tested in FSX-Acceleration)As far as I know, there's no practicle limit on the number of gauge definitions in a panel.cfg window.Or that gauge numbers should be consecutive; just unique in a window. However, when using gaugenumbers above 101, be carefull !Try this:gauge00= ...gauge99= ...Works fine.Try this:gauge00= ....gauge102= ....Now gauge102 isn't loaded !(don't ask me how I ran into this, but it costed me two hours to find ...:) )In general, if you use gaugenumbers above 101, they need to be consecutive, without "holes" in the numbering.So:gauge00= ..................gauge100= ....gauge101= ....gauge102= ....gauge…

I know this topic has been covered before, I searched and read...I would like to know the difference between A/C models designed for FS9 vs FSX as far as virtual cockpits go. I have a fantastic plane that I imported from 9 to X and I want to add a virtual Cockpit. I'm pretty sure that the model was created for fs9 so it is not as simple as editing FSX planes and panels. There must be a way. I believe by editing the model cfg? What program would I use to view it?I suspect I should contact the designer for permission in that case as well.Thanks.Delta

Hi, Ive been playing around with the zoom settings and for the longest time have always used the 1.00 zoom default settings. But reading topics about zoom settings I have noticed that many folks like to use the .75 settings for the most relastic value. My question is; is there a way to have .75 the default value for the cockpit in the panel config? I would like to have .75 as the default valut even when pressing the backspace key which would put it back to .75 instead of 1.00 if I happen to change the zoom settings.

Hi everyone,I would like to release a project of mine as payware (or shareware), but I'm wondering if it's legal. Here's what I have;1. The original bitmaps and gauges are by someone else.2. Contact with this person (Dmitry Stepin) has been unsuccessful. This is due to an inactive email address supplied in the readme.3. I don't know if Bombardier requires a license.4. The readme of the original freeware panel says the following: " This panel is released as freeware. Gauges or panel modifying and improving are welcomed. Redistrubution original or modified panel and gauges is allowed, but please give credit." Does this mean I can or can't release this as a payware pack…

I am designing a square shaped fuselage where I have five vertices to define each corner (to make it round).I have made it from a cylinder primitive. with22 verices in the cross section - the 20 for the four corners and on on top and bottom so that I can cut it in half, lengthwise should I need to.If I slice the fuselage to add more cross sections, the cross section ends up with more vertices. Is there a way to slice without increasing the number of vertices, except cutting from side line to side line?I have slices without selecting anything, I have selected polygons where I want to slice and I have removed smoothing and I have without removing smoothing. No success.

I'm wondering if there is a developer/modeler willing to take on a FSX project for pay. The MC-130 variants would be the first and would need to have at least the fidelity the captain sim C-130 or better. The next batch of project work would be based on the quality of the model/cockpit. I will also be posting on the paint shop thread for the repaint work on this and several existing aircraft. If there is interest I can send requirements and materials for discussion and negotiating a price.

In FSDS you have the option to move vertices in the right upper corner in lets say the front view and automatically the same happen in the left upper corner in mirror reverse. So I can push vertices in the right half and exactly the same happen in the left half. How do I do that in Gmax.I am referring to do it just after I have created the fuselage from a cylinder, before I have split it in half.

Re-posted here, as per: Fr. Bill - MSFS Tips and Tricks ModeratorCould someone/anybody, post a gauge to do the following 4 sound triggers as suggested below:I use an AutoLand gauge that I modified for my own personal internal use years ago, but wanted to add 4 additional sounds.I have an Instrument rating, I just don't know how to design gauges....HA! Is there any literature that explains what the following characters do in a .XML gauge file? Examples { } || == ! / > < etc.I looked into the SDK but did not find anything. Some of the characters are self explanatory.Assuming a typical ILS Approach into KSFO 28R:Maintaining proper speeds and an altitude of about 3000…

Can anyone tell me why the g1000 glass cockpit`s engine management display shows a torque guage at the top and not a manifold pressure guage. This is frustrating me in my quest to learn to correctly fly in ms fsx deluxe, with the aid of ms flight simulator`s real world training manual. Am I missing something as From what I`ve read so far, you need to be able to adjust your manifold pressures to achieve the correct performance configerations. Any help or advice would be good. John

Hello guys i need some help in order to fix an issue i have. I have create an a320 based on the ifdg a320 using the airwrench program. The aircraft is flying well in all the parts of the flight except for the landing. There for example when i am in full configuration ( full flaps extended and gear down ) and i have about 4 tones of fuel and about of 18 tones of payload and my zfw is 61 tones my status are as follows. When in outer marker i must maintain a speed of 155-160 knots and a pitch of 5-7 degrees so i can have a vs of -700 feet. In reality in the same conditions they have a speed of about 135 knots and a pitch of about 2.5 degrees to maintain a vs of about -700 feet…

FREE : Server for TESTING FSX Gauges An increasing number of Plane Addon developers, are producing aircraft, that have very significant "issues", both in Free Flight and in Multiplayer. There issues result in low frame rates, and in lagging issues in Multiplayer sessions. The main cause of thses issues, is a flooding of REDUNDANT "Key Events".This can be so bad, that in some cases, just one such aircraft in a Multiplayer session, can bring the session to a freezing halt.THE GOOD NEWS :-Now there is a quick & easy way for both Developers, and End Users, to determine if their Aircraft causes such issues.(Both in Multiplayer, and in Shared Cockpit)The FS-MP Multiplayer…

What's the best way to store string data?Building off of the (COM1 Ident, string)? thread, once gps data are retrieved, what's the best way to store the information, specifically the string info? I would like to search for more than just the nearest airport that uses a particular frequency, and return information about, say, the nearest 5 airports. Something like (searching 122.10 mhz whilst at O'Hare) AIRPORT____TYPE_____NM______BRG KDPA_______FSS______17______257 KLOT_______FSS______24______204 KARR_______FSS______29______246 -C18_______FSS______30______176 KGYY_______FSS______31______135and display the five lines of information at the same time, without deleting…

:( I have been trying now for three days to figure out the method to add the clibration box. Maybe I am completely braindead.I have downloaded the C-162 tutorial, with the backdrop video. No success. I manage the video tutorial to about 60%. As soon as I start the material editor, what I see on my screen is totally different to what the tutorial shows. We both use Gmax 1.2. I can not go further than here because I am not familiar with the material editor to add the image. I have tried, but get nowhere.I have tried the way by drawing in a bitmap as the background and that works, similar than Blender or FSDS, but as soon as I draw in a box with the aircraft dimensions, the …

I love the way 3D Shockwave looks on my E-Jets! But it was no fun seeing the nose gear lights hanging in space after bringing the gear up. I started noodling around with the inner workings of FSX, XML, FSUIPC, CABDIR, and so on. This turned out to be more of a challenge than I anticipated but I finally got it!The E-Jets control the Taxi and Landing lights using switches on the Overhead panel. After the nose gear is retracted, the aircraft nose light is covered up by the landing gear bay doors when they close. This gives the appearance that the nose light has gone off, no matter what the Taxi light switch says. Presumably, this emulates real-world aircraft, which must have…

Below is a small gauge I made by extracting some code from the Nav-Info gauge by Edi Hirsch (Avsim library - FS2004 gauges).
