Alright after going completely insane and redoing a significant amount of code I decided to take a look at the default GPS to make sure I wasn't a complete idiot. Turns out I'm not - at least I hope I'm not. Nearest Airspace will not work on the 500 either. I've been working on one of my FMC's and a GNS430 but the fact that I can't get nearet airspace to work is driving me nuts. I've set all the variables correctly etc, etc, and the fact that even the default gps isn't working suggests to me something else go astray. Perhaps one of my modules are bad? :Nail Biting:Any help would be appreciated. See attached image I took last night after nearly pulling my hair out. :help:p…

Hi,I am attempting to learn how to implement sounds (click with switches etc) into my C+ gauges. I had a successful solution using DirectSound that works in FS9 and works until you attempt to resize windowed panels(causes CTDs) in FSX.Anyways, I have discovered Doug's awesome dsd_sound_gauge package. In it is a source code for a sample gauge "SoundSample".I am unable to get it to compile successful and need some help to find what I might be doing wrong. I haven't modified the sample code at all. I am using Visual C++ 2008 Express edition.here is what I get as output from the compiler:1>Compiling...1>cl : Command line warning D9035 : option 'Wp64' has been deprec…

I am NOT trying to reverse engineer FSX but there is a bgl file in Thompson's "timezone fix" that is 1 hour off and I would like to decompile it to XML, fix it, and then recompile it again. I have looked at SP2 SDK but the only program that looked as tho it would decompile was BGLscan and it only yielded an XML file with header information and an address offset(?) but no details. I have also tried BGLAnalyze (several versions) but they yield even less information. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Folks,I'm trying to eliminate some FS98 gauges from a freeware FS9 airplane that I want to use in FSX. It's an excellent aircraft (C123) with a very good panel when used in FS9.I planned to replace the FS98 gauges with similar ones that would work in FSX. Here's the problem: I wrote down the names of the FS98 gauges which FSX identified when I tried to load the C123. I must be going crazy or more senile than I thought, because I can't find those FS98 gauges listed in the C123's panel.cfg!I'd appreciate any ideas you may have.thanks,

Hello,A week ago I (re)started trying to get a working posky 777 with a virtual cockpit (i nearly only fly using VC's).After a lot of struggling, I finally managed to get an acceptable aircraft which I can get off the ground.Allow me to show you a screenshot of my current VC:http://img685.images...5/895/777vc.pngAs you can see, I still have a lot of issues:The most important one is the lack of radios! I've indicated the "dead" spots with red circles on the screenshot.Another, very annoying issue, which the screenshot doesn't show, is that my cursor blinks when I move over buttons and selectors. This makes some tasks, like setting values in the autopilot, very difficult du…

I have a client who has a 11 year old son that is starting to get into building aircraft, scenery, etc. While I have quite a bit of experience with flight simulators and using them as a training aid, I have no experience with these matters and would appreciate any help anyone could lend me. The boy has started reading the forums but was looking for more of a mentor or someone he could contact with questions. Thank you very much in advance.

Hi everybody!I have Milton Shupe's Dash 7, which is an awesome plane. Many of the gauges, though, are from FS98. Can anyone give me an idea on how to go about upgrading those gauges? I have sent Milton an email asking for his permission to work on the plane.I would also like to do a full glass panel using something like the Garmin G1000. Any thoughts or suggestions on that? I am new to panel working but I would really like to do this. I could mebbe use a tutorial, if anyone knows of a good one! Thanks in advance!Steve

  14. Hi. I'm working on a plane in FSDS v3.5. I read about using the animation tags "Ambient" and "NonRandomAmbient" to animate pilots and/or passengers. I successfully got one of each to work last night (works quite well). FSDS lists many more (Ambient2, Ambient3, Ambient4, etc) but if I try adding an additional "ambient" animation, to a different passenger, NONE of the ambient or nonrandomambient animations works at all when I go to test it. If I remove the newest animation and test again, everything works. It's as if I'm being limited to one usage of each tag, despite the fact that I can choose from many more unique names (Ambient2, Ambient3, etc.) in my "standard parts nam…

can anyone let me have a simple digital pitch trim gauge to use with my epic dynasty. Just placing the mouse on the trim wheel on the panel does not help as the cursor box goes away after a few seconds, not helping with setting up the configerations for landing.

hi dear people, can anyone give me a hint about which part of the .cfg file of an aircraft i have to change in terms to affect the way rudder pedals (ground steering) act?as a default, FS has a very unrealistic ground steering dynamics: you press slightly the pedal and the plain responds very late and heavily as if the wires/levers are being made out of rubber. I practically find it impossible to take off without making some strange kinds of zig-zags on the runway. i even start to develope a "skill" for this kind of steering--anticipating and pressing in advance, etc. it is not issue of sensetivity--i've seen some guys design cars for FS where this issue is completely abse…

  19. File write capability using Logger has been added in Blackbox release 3. Using Blackbox3, real time values of up to several hundred Flight Simulator system variables (A, E, P) and L:Vars from any or all xml gauges in the panel can be recorded to file each update cycle. Blackbox3 also retains all of the screen output formats included in Blackbox release 2.What Blackbox does:BlackBox3 constructs an xml diagnostic gauge that can be used to display in readout form on the screen or write to HDD file the number or string values of user-selected A:, E:, or P: system variables, or any L:Var in the panel. It can display important parameters such as L: and A: variables, booleans, e…

Hi all,I'm trying to show the GS and LOC flags of my ADI for the first 10 seconds when they become active (trigger is: (A:HSI GSI needle valid, bool) or (A:HSI has localizer, bool)) and simulates that the GS and LOC signals are unreliable, after 10 seconds the bitmaps have to disappear. One important factor is that the INS is alligned before it can be activated. This happens when (L:AVCS-INS, enum) 2=I've searched this forum, found some issues concerning this matter, but wasn't fruitfull. I think i end up in somekind of loop because during (A:HSI GSI needle valid, bool) or (A:HSI has localizer, bool) the bitmaps may only be shown for 10 seconds while the function of the G…

Hello AllI have added spoilers to a couple of aircraft that in real life are not fitted with them. The spoilers do not show in the external model of course, but after modifying the AIR and CFG files they work well and slow the aircraft appropriately (particularly during descent). The spoiler function itself works fine in both aircraft. My problem is that in one aircraft, the switch, which is a simple multi position lever with 5 positions, representing 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%, works fine, in the other aircraft, it doesn't.In the non-working aircraft, the switch works fine when the PAUSE mode is on, but when PAUSE is not on the lever just flutters. 24. Logger is a FS9 and FSX module that provides file read and write capability for XML gauges. Using Logger, up to several hundred different number or string variables of any type (A:, E:, P:, G:, L:, or fs9gps) can be written to or read from hard disk file each gauge update cycle. The module enables the XML user to write flight data recorder gauges, save and load flight plans, save and load initial values for XML gauges that cannot otherwise be saved with Flight Sim’s Save Flight, and record flights for subsequent playback as Google Earth Tracks and Tours ("video").The Logger module, installation and help file, file read and write format guide, and example XML applications …

Hi everyone,I recently got the Flight 1 Avidyne software that adds gauges for use in the 2D cockpit view. I was wondering if it would be possible to add these gauges to the Virtual Cockpit using FS Panel Studio? I have been playing around trying to add them into the default Mooney Bravo G1000 (practise before trying to add them to a more realistic plane) but with no luck.If someone could post step by step instructions that would be great!
