I have been working on a project for well over a year. I was working with a very talented gauge programer who was doing amazing work. For an unknown reason two months ago I lost all contact with him (I hope he is okay). I could release the aircraft as it is, but would very much like to finish up some things before I do. I could use a really talented and experienced gauge programer to help with this project. My previous programer will be very, very hard to replace, he was a genius and created things for this aircraft that has never been done in FSX before. If you feel you would like to take on this challenge and have the skills to push the limits of FSX, pleas…

On most of my aircraft I've created custom GPS and radio panel windows that are nicely positioned and large enough to interact with. I use the virtual cockpit and like to keep the GPS and radio windows open sometimes, but the problem is every time I switch between cockpit and outside views the windows disappear. Is there a way to keep them open until toggled off?

There's a part of me that has always wanted to fly Air Force One, and I've looked for an FSX version of it and come up empty. If someone could make one, I would be incredibly happy. Oh, and just as a suggestion, if Project Airbus could make a retexture of the A380 and a call sign for it I would really be happy! After all, I think that the A380 is the next most logical progression of that particular aircraft. Thanks again, and keep up the good work.

When I open FSPS the Manufacturer List is not in alphabetical order. They are all scrambled in the list. It is hard to find the right one. Where does the list come from and is there any way to get it back in alphabetical order? Thanks, Bob.

Is it possible to use a non-linearity table with the MAKE_MOVING macro like you can with the MAKE_NEEDLE macro. I have a non-linear airspeed strip that moves on the x-plane using a mask. Thanks, Chris

Hi all, I recently acquired the excellent Realair Lancair Legacy. While I enjoyed it in its 'stock' form, I decided to modify it to enhance the cross country performance. The primary modification I made was to add a turbocharger. I initially added the following variables to the aircraft.cfg file, under the [piston_engine] section. turbocharged=1 // was zero max_design_mp=30 // was zero min_design_mp=6 // was zero critical_altitude=12000 // was zero This gave me the desired performance boost up to max MP for cruising at 12000 feet. After some successful flight testing I decided to see how far I could push things. I bumped critical_altitude up to 2200…

Greetings, I'm working on an aircraft.cfg file, and I seem to be stuck on what to fix...here's the problem. At Mach 2.75 (give or take), my N1 is reading around 75% (I know how to adjust that), the problem that I have is my thrust lever indicators are pegged around 1-2 percent...any lower, and the plane will hit Mach 4, and I'm unable to get the speed down. What do I need to adjust in the aircraft.cfg table to fix this problem. I have messed around with table 430, but that seems just to adjust my speed settings, but not my thrust indicators. Enclosed is a picture of my cockpit...please look at EICAS N1 indicators, compared to my thrust indicators (arrows on the outsid…

Gents, In my Heads Up Display (HUD) i have two tapes along each other: 1. Airspeed Tape (A:GROUND VELOCITY,knots) 2. Required G/S pointer (@REQGS) (this bitmap has the same dimensions as Airspeed Tape and has only one pointer at the middle of this tape) Both tapes run up and down when the speed runs up and down which is good. Problem: The pointer which has to be at the required G/S (which is more or less then the actual speed) is a fixed position with the following statement <Position X="170" Y="1200"/> and cannot be set at the required speed. Here is the code: <!-- ########################################…

I recently purchased Iris Simulations' C27J Spartan, which has its share of problems. Knowing little of aircraft design, here are three things I'd like to know are fxable or not: 1) She rolls heavily from side to side while taxiing - in fact, she even crashed once whole taxiing in a moderate crosswind. M solution has been to reduce the "General" realism slider somewhat to compensate. I was wondering if there was a simple setting in the aircraft.cfg file which could fix this, or if that might end up muddying flight dynamics as well? (This fuselage roll issue crops up on other turboprops as well, such as the Capt SIm C130 - but not the PMDG JS41!) 2) The aircraft is …

Hi, I've got a question about something I've found in the Carenado 210 CFG file that I've never seen before and I can't find anything about it on the web. Below is a extract from the file. Hi all- I am looking at the IRIS DA40 to simulate the one I use for real; however, the one I fly is a steam panel. So, I'd like to know 1) if I can add a 2D panel in the same way I have with the default 172? In other words, I've used FS Panel Studio to create a new one (for IR training) but everything seems to work OK. 2) The default IRIS DA40 utilizes a G1000; the one I fly has a 530 and a 430, and I use the RealityXP stuff. If I build a panel using the RXP products (including steam gauges) will there be a negative impact on performance? 3) For the 2D panel I need some switches that aren't standard (such as a 3-position flap switch) but I have some th…

I know FSX does not have appropriate variables and event codes to allow for realistic start-up of turboprops, but can anyone help with XML coding that will offer a reasonable alternative to Autostart to "realistically" start 2 turboprop engines. Specifically I am setting up a 2D panel for the Basler BT67 turbo, and while I have been able to either copy some gauges from the VC, or make new ones to match the VC, however, the engine start switches elude me. I would really like 2 switches for each engine, a 3 position ignitor (off, start and continuous) and an off/on starter. This would mimic what is in the VC. The VC coding is, of course, not available. I have spent …

Good Evening Gents, My name is Matthew Chase I am posting here in search of a Rockwell Collins Proline21 avionics set for FSX. I can't seem to find it anywhere and I am currently building my sim to practice for my next phase of flight training. I will be flying the T-44C and just need the ProLine Avionics to replicate the product. I tought myself how to make XML avionics and I would do that in this case but I need to include an FMS with it and probably don't have the time to learn the programming for it. (I am also a C# programmer so I could do it if someone could steer me in the right direction on how to start an FMS and ND). Thank you for your help! -Matt

Due to the age of the original topic, along with several forum crashes over the years, I went back and recovered the XML script that was collaboratively developed back in 2003 for calculating the sun angle: <String> %( (* zulutime+longitude/15 *) (P:ZULU TIME,hours) (A:PLANE LONGITUDE, degrees) 15 / + (* (7.3*sin((dayofyear-3)/365.25*360) *) (P:ZULU DAY OF YEAR,number) 3 - 365.25 / 2.0 pi * * sin 7.3 * (* -9.8*sin((dayofyear-80)/365.25*720)) *) (P:ZULU DAY OF YEAR,number) 80 - 365.25 / 4.0 pi * * sin -9.8 * + 60 / - (>L:local_sun_time,number) (* 23.5*sin((dayofyear-80)/365.25*360) *) (P:ZULU DAY OF YEAR,number) 80 - 365.25 / 2.0 pi * * sin 23.5 * …

Guys, How do you access instrument panel views with airplanes that have more than 9. You can display 1-9 via shift+1 thru shift+9. One of the planes I have has over 20 instrument panel views. How to directly access instrument views over 9? Thanks!

Newbie to the forum here, be gentle. I recently bought some Saitek Instrument panels (along with the yoke, pedals, radio, switch block and TPM unit. The whole box and dice) all works well. I am using FSx on a Win 7 (64bit) box, with Insider's Cessna 152. The ASI on the Saitek instrument panel is a generic read out. There is no flap white arc, and the Vne is far far in excess of anything a C152 can ever hope to do, even downwind in a hurricane. I want to get the Saitek instrument to represent the C152 ASI. How do I do it? Regards Stephan. Melbourne Australia.

Hi guys, I'm doing a little private user mod for ground spoilers and reversers, as there are custom L:var animations for ground spoilers and reversers which are not linked to the existing panel. As I'm XML illiterate I had to use codes from other forum postings, and I got the both of them working. However there's no animation e.g. the spoilers and reversers extend and retract instantly. I think may be caused by the panel as The spoiler and reverser levers are like "on or off" switches, or perhaps it's something I didn't know about. I'm pretty certain there are animations contained in the MDL file but I can't get them to work in my XML gauge. maybe it's something t…

Guru's Approaches to military airfields normally uses IAF's and FAF's (Initial and Final Approach Fixes). These are points that only have Lat/Lon indications. I know, normally you fly these points using nearby VOR/TACAN with range and bearing. It is also handy if you only know a lat/lon of a certain target. I like to make a page in which i can enter a lat/lon into a scratchpad and via a press on the enter button insert it into the active FS2004 flightplan (.pln) or send it directly to the NAV1/2 or ADF gauge to fly to the give lat/lon. 1. Is this possible (the SDK GPS entrees speeks of FlightPlanNewLongitude/Latitude) to do this, and especially how? Many t…

Hello, I recently updated our acars so that it also loads the payload onto the aircraft. I then started investigating why the change is not immediate. Seems the only way to make it permanent is accessing the Payload subdialog from the "Payload and fuel" menu. At least in FS9. After this, when I close the dialog I can see the plane shortly do a bounce-like motion, asserting the weight change. I believe this is because the CoG must be updated. Is there still no way to force the CoG to be updated? There is variable 2EF8 but it seems to be readonly. Has anyone found a way that enables payload station modification and then "committing" it? Thanks, Miguel
