  1. Hi guys, I'm new both in here & in MS FSX. Now I have a strange & serious problem and no answer can be found anywhere. And this will be my 1st post , so please forgive me if I posted at wrong area. Here're pictures: gear down. gear is raising. gear up so far as now, it's correct in front view. HERE come to the proble. when you move the view in front down 45 degrees of the plane. then like this: notice where are the landing lights. notice where are the landing lights. move the view in front down 90 degrees of the plane. even at the daytime. Some infos: Notebook with i5 core, 3G RAM, GT420M. WIN7 32bit, DX11 in-b…

  2. Hey guys, this is getting frustrating! I am using FSPanelStudio (FSPS) and I am trying to create a new panel window to be used only for display an instrument cluster. I want to drag this new window into a separate monitor but the problem is that the new window will not show up at the monitor's screen size! The main display is being projected at 1920x1080... This is the visuals display. The second monitor is being used at 1920x1200... This is the instruments display. I have set the dimensions of the new instruments cluster window within FSPS to 1920x1200 and I am able to move the gauges and have them nicely lined up with the cutouts on my MIP, but as soon as I sta…

  3. Hi all, I prefer to fly my aircraft with the 3D Cockpit and the Track IR head tracker. In many of my aircraft I have to zoom in the 3D Cockpit to a certain degree, in order to get a good readability of the cockpit displays. Unfortunately the zoom of the exterior scenery is tied to the zoom of the 3D Panel. This means that whenever I have zoomed in the 3D Panel to the necessary degree, the scenery outside is zoomed in too much. I am looking for a parameter in one of the various configuration files of FSX, which determines the ratio between the zoom of the 3D Panel elements and the zoom of the scenery. I suppose that FSX aircraft/panel designers will probably use a …

I was wanting to do some air file editing and was wondering is any of you were doing any playing around with air files? It seems like so many of the posts about air file editing on Avsim are very old and I was wondering if anyone was still playing around with them. Thanks for any info you may have on air file editing.

  5. Hey everybody. I was wondering if anyone has made an attempt at creating the Avro Canada C102 Jetliner in FSX. I really like this old plane and the heritage it has, and really want to be able to fly it. I don't know any places where you could get the specs for it, but I'm sure some digging will turn someting out. http://en.wikipedia....a_C102_Jetliner If anyone could help out, that'd be great! I don't know how to design aircraft or anything of the sort, so I can't do this. Thanks! FYI: This is my first post, and I'm pretty new at this, so if I make any mistakes, correct me.

Hi all, Is it possible to dim the default 208 interior lighting (shift-l) via the lights section of the aircraft.cfg file? They are too bright..I've messed with my monitor settings but ot just seems to affect daytime flying too much..was wondering of there was a number I could dial down somewhere. In fact, I've notied that when you use the panel lights switch located to the left of the battery meter, there is a short (<1s) when only the gauge lights are lit, then seemingly the cabin floods come on and wash everything out.. it borks my night vision! Thanks jake

  7. I have been looking for a King Air for some time now, and finally downloaded a B200 which turned into a disappointment. Then I got to looking at these Friendly Panel downloads and tried their Collins Pro Line 21 in the default King Air 350. It has turned out to be a really good compromise. While I love the panel, the rest of the cockpit is pretty much a blob of light battleship gray. I'm wondering if there is a way to change some of the texture colors? Any suggestions are appreciated. Mike

Hey guys, I am almost through with my 3rd version of the X-47B, presently doing testing. The model was redone from scratch to reflect the final production version. Just two things I need some assistance with 1. How to make spoilerons (not sure if that's what they are called). It appears that the X-47B uses its spoilers, as speed brakes, rudders and ailerons to an extent. How do I get the spoiler to perform 3 or 2 of these functions at once. 2. The landing gear doors, cut using the Boolean function are giving some problems to look flush when polygon smoothing is turned on. Snap to nearest vertex doesnt seem to work, and the problem somehow gets worse w…

I use a dedicated monitor for instruments when flying. With a G1000 equipped plane such as the Mooney, I open the main panel, reduce it a little then add 3 more windows (MFD, Radio and ATC). However, whenever I click in the main panel it comes to the foreground and covers the other windows. I saw an article by the late (regretted) OPA entitled <Keeping PopUp windows visible when changing views> and thought that might be the answer but it's not so. Is there a way to either force the main panel always to the back or force the other windows to always stay on top?

  10. And today, I noticed missing compass on some of my non-default planes. I have installed a Carenado plane lately, and it is fine. I have no idea as to where to start.

  12. Hi to all, I've had a go at doing my first Gauge in FSX, this is currently just a pop-up 2-D gauge. I followed a tutorial to get me started. The result is kind of OK, but not there yet, and I still have much to learn. Please assume zero knowledge, as this is the fist time I've coded in XML The project is a Roller-Blind presentation Attitude indicator, 1950's technology, where a roller blind moves a horizon image up and down the face of the instrument to indicate pitch, the roller-blind also rotates to indicate roll, this seemed very suited to XML coding as all I needed was a half black, half white bitmap that slides up and down and rotates. Firs…

Hello. I recently changed the float contact point on my C206 so that it would sit a little more correctly in the water. Below is the default contact points--note that the plane sits exactly horizontally in the water which is not true to float planes; And here is my slight mod, giving it a more realistic "lean" back towards the tail. This works fine, except that due to the fact that this plane is an amphibian, the changed points also affect other areas. For instances, when I land on a runway, I now get a shower of sparks. And when I land on water, I hear a crash sound. This tells me I need to change the crash contact points but I'm not really know…

Is it possible to completely remove the doors on my C172? How about engine cowling? Is there a motor in there? Just want to create a C172 that is beat to hell looking. :^) .... my next question would be how to add a female passenger. Naked. No joke. I fly with a group where we have our own personal textures. Thanks.

Over at the FSDeveloper forum there is a discussion going if we should try to organize an online conference for FS addon developers. I put a little more information in a blog post, it also includes a link to a survey where you can indicate if you like the idea and what you would like to see covered by such a conference. So let us know if you think this is interesting. http://www.scenerydesign.org/2012/12/a-fs-developer-conference/

  16. Hi, I made myself a little extra landing panel for the iFly B737NG. This was something I missed and had great use of in the PMDG for better performance when landing in CPU heavy airports.. I took a screendump from the VC, painted the outside black and added the following to the panel.cfg: ....window18=CAPT LOWER DU POPUP window19=FO UPPER DU POPUP window20=FO LOWER DU POPUP Window21=Mini Panel Fixed Window39=DOWN [VIEWS] VIEW_FORWARD_WINDOWS=MAIN_PANEL VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=3.0, 0.0, 0.0 VIEW_DOWN_WINDOWS=39 VIEW_DOWN_ZOOM=1.00 VIEW_DOWN_EYE=0.000, 0.000, 0.000 VIEW_DOWN_DIR=7.0, 0.0, 0.0.... ...gauge00=iFly737-HUD-Wide!HUD_background, 0, 0,…

  17. Does anyone plan on doing a G-IV or G-V for flight simulator? I remember a few years ago there were some promising screenshots of a G-IV under development...but have not heard anything since. What became of those projects? Have the authors abondoned the field altogether? Are they still under development? I just want to know... Bmaack

Hey guys, I've been looking for a topic for some performance calculations such as a calculated vertical speed for implementing in a VNAV code, or a calculated speed number for a VNAV code. Presently I am trying to figure out a method to solving optimum and maximum altitudes for an aircraft, any takers? I'll try to contribute something here. My VNAV calculated vertical speed is something like this: (L:FMC-LOAD,number) -25 * 4250 + int (L:FMC-VNAV-VS-CORRECTION,number) + 0 max 4500 min (>L:FMC-VNAV-CVS,number) FMC-LOAD represents the load percentage of the aircraft as a comparison of empty weight and MTOW. VS-Correction is a variable that accounts for Cost-In…

I've dabbled in FSX development before with little success, but I thought I might try my hand at it again. The only problem is there don't seem to be any good tutorials for FSX aircraft development in Gmax. Of the few tutorials I've found, they've either been very dated or for FSDS, and none of them contain instruction on building a dynamic VC (at least not a good one). Could somebody point me in the direction of a good starting point for FSX development? I'm starting off simple with a Cessna 207 Stationair, so I don't need to learn any complex gauge programming--just the basics when it comes to that. Also, is there any information regarding 3D gauges? I want to see if th…

Hi there, I've been flying around with a Jetstream 31 model on FSX for a few weeks now. And I've noticed that the glideslope indicator isn't showing, nor is the autopilot following the glideslope. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix it? All the best, Rens

  22. Sure would appreciate it if someone knows or better yet can point me in the direction on how I can findout the ident for guages in general. What I am doing is editing my copy of Eagle Softs Premier 1a. So far I have it rather tricked out nicely. I purchased Ernie Alstons FMC guages and cannot say enough about them. That coupled with FS Panel, I have been able to do a lot of Gee Wiz edits. Boiling it down I got tired of the standard issue EICAS that came with the download. What is troubling me is that the EICAS part is coupled with their MFD which after using Alston's guages well, leaves one wanting. So I finally am down to "borrowing" the lear EICAS as it is…

Hello~~ i'm from R.O.Korea.. So..i wanna know that AH-1S weapon model modification.. Recently, ROK Army AH-1S use Rocket LAU-61D/A (19 shot) launchers × 2 but Area51 AH-1S products use the Rocket LAU-68C/A (7 shot) × 2. So i try to modify the AH-1S model. PLZ , give me the modification method in regular sequence or release to modified AH-1S model. Expect to your response and thank you for your co-op. Bye~~

Hi, this is just a question to satisify my curiosity. Is the carb heat part of the model? I was recently flying in the northwest US in the Carenado 172N and ran into some pretty bad carb icing. As soon as the rpm dropped I pulled the carb heat on and it took about 5 minutes before I started getting rpm back. That got me to wondering if there was a scalar to adjust the carb heat. I've messed around in the cfg file before and even did some adjusting in the air file (mainly because Carenado don't know didly about how a real plane flies, I can't wait for the A2A and Realair 172s to come out), but I've never seen any mention of the carb heat. Where is this modeled? Just …
