I found this old bird, a DH.114 Heron and I am overhauling the aricraft.cfg. Here's my prob. When I start my engines, it fires up right away. If I don't apply any throttle, it'll die. I usually push the throttles to about 10%, the engines will stay alive. I use Ctrl+E to start. And it is a FS9 model on FSX system. Funny, as I typed this, I felt like I am taking my car into the shop. The stuff after the // are the original stats.[piston_engine] //de Havilland Gipsy Queen Mk.30 Series 2power_scalar = 1.0cylinder_displacement = 93.43 //110.33compression_ratio = 6.5number_of_cylinders = 6max_rated_rpm = 3000 // 2500max_rated_hp = 250fuel_metering_type = 1cooling_ty…

After suggesting it to someone else, I've just reinstalled the ATR 42-500 by Claus Vendelboe Holmberg (well, the refinement he did of Francisco Sánchez-Castañer's work, atr425dk.zip in the "other site"). I'm liking a lot the final product, however I've seen some unstability in the pitch axis (always wanting to nose down). I checked the aircraft.cfg file and saw these lines (I'm showing only the relevant ones): [WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE]reference_datum_position=000, 0, 6.800empty_weight_CG_position=000, 0.000, -8.000station_load.0=0.000000,0.000000,0.000000,0.000000empty_weight=32832.000[fuel]LeftMain=0.000, -14.500, -5.000, 758.000, 0.000RightMain=0.000, 14.500, -5.000, 758.00…

I can't seem to get the AP to work (in FSX) and I'm wondering if I can change the lines in the panel file to make the AP work. I know I would have to place the gauges in the panel also to make it work.I know not to change the values, ie Tornado_Gauges!AP_IAS Hold, 42,334,19,19, but just the gauge itself Tornado_Gauges!AP_IAS Hold, 42,334,19,19Below is the panel file[Window02]file=torn_elecauto.bmp file_1024=torn_elecauto.bmp size_mm=194window_size_ratio=1.000 position=0visible=0ident=90window_size= 0.150, 0.600window_pos= 0.860, 0.000gauge00=Tornado_Gauges!Panel Lights Switch, 129,44,18,18gauge01=Tornado_Gauges!Landing Light Switch, 90,44,18,18gauge02=Tornado_Gauges!Navig…

Hi,(fs9)Question because fs comp crash!Did anyone used a macro for a color argument, something like:Color="%('0x0000ff' '0x00ffff' '0x00b800' 3 (C:fs9traffic:advisory,number) case)"Code has to be repeated a lot of times.Is this possible:<Macro Name="color"> %('0x0000ff' '0x00ffff' '0x00b800' 3 (C:fs9traffic:advisory,number) case) </Macro>and then:Color="@color"Thanks,Jan

Hello Gents,I'm wondering if its possible to place a small gauge over a larger one so that both will be visible. My experience is that unless you eliminate the original gauge, the new one will end up being behind it and hidden. I'm wondering how FSX sets layering priorities for gauges. As a seperate but related question, is it possible to make a guage somewhat transparent so that the gauge you place it over would still be at least partially visible under it?

Hello All:Just wondering if it is possible to alias a panel using a 3rd party panel as the source? I have no trouble aliasing from a default panel, but can't seem to get the right syntax for doing it from a 3rd party. Example: aliasing from default: b747-400\panel Works fine. The panel I have been trying to alias is the hp_747-400 panel by Horst Paetzold. For the proper syntax, do I use "Title" or "Sim" as listed in the aircraft cfg file, or neither. If neither, what should I use?Thx

Hello Folks,Just a quick, easy question:I've placed a pop-up gauge in my cockpit and the positioning is very close to where I want it. I just want to move it about 2 pixels lower but can't seem to make the adjustment with the usual "window_pos=" parameter. I know this is expressed in percentages and the value I want is between 56 and 57 percent. I tried 56.5 but it doesn't move the gauge until I try 57, which is too far.Can someone guide me how to make that small change?

Can anyone please tell me how to increase the responsiveness of an FSX aircraft to changes in propeller torque? Even with the torque slider full right, I'm not seeing the variation in rolling moment I'd like. I'm familiar with editing AIR and CFG files, but don't see any particular single variable in either file which will give me direct control over this aspect of the FM..Thanks,blue six

Hi all,A short question but probably without an easy answer...For my aircraft I have tweaked the aircraft.cfg file so that the fuel consumtion of the jet during cruise is very close to the real thing. When the aircraft is idleing on the ground however, is approximately twice that of what it is supposed to be !I understand that the fuel consumption is regulated in the .air file but how to change that ?I've purchesed and tried Airwrench but using that results in many many things not working anymore in the aircraft, so I'd prefer not to use that. AirEd doesn't allow me to change the graph that I pressure is the correct one, so what to do now ?Anyone ?Thx,Bj

Hi-Is there a way or app to batch process dds files? I'm currently using PS with the Nvidia plugin to convert dds to dds w/mipmaps but it's a long process. DDSConverter doesn't seem to work with Win764bit for some reason; maybe I'm missing something somewhere...Thanks,Mark

I fly a King Air B200 for work and I am changing AFG's King Air 300 into a B200. I have everything perfect in the CFG. Everything about the model is perfect except for the N1 never overspeeds and the ITT temps are about 170 degrees too low at cruise. Is there anyway to increase the N1 RPM and the ITT's through the CFG?

so i configured my 3ds max 2008 to the max9 sdk folder, and everything is working. the only problem is that each time i open 3ds max, it creates a new "Aces Tools" menu on my menu toolbar. i have to remove one each time i start, otherwise they'll reproduce as rabbits and populate my entire menu bar. heres the script: (the acestools.ms file from max9 folder in sdk)--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Get the text for the macro scripts to be created from existing scriptsmacroScript ExportLOD category:"Tools" tooltip:"Export and LOD tool"( try (execute (openF…

Hi all, one of my favorite planes is the Project Airbus A319. However, I don't really care for the jetwash effect which is part of the model. You can disable the effect by toggling the water rudder key but I grew tired of having to do it. In Fs9, the water rudders always default to the up position when a flight is started so this simple gauge toggles the water rudders down as soon as engine 1 starts, thus disabling the jetwash effect. I tested this in a Beaver panel which had a water rudder handle to make sure it didn't continually fire, but if someone can suggest a better way to code it, please do so, I'm just a beginner at this xml stuff. Thanks! <Gauge Name="W…

Hi, Im a 3d modeler and animator for some years now, and i recently decided to give fsx a try. but i found it quite difficult to get started with something concrete inside fsx, lets say a box that has a moving flap.i recently upgraded my 3ds max to version 2011, and sadly it doesnt fully support fsx dev'ing, but i can ask autodesk a max 2008 license, or use gmax, no problem, whatever works.the only problem is that i cant find instructions for fsx specifically. web has plenty of 3ds max modeling tutorials, wich can be used with gmax since its the same thing, and i do this for several years, so its not hard for me (or anyone) to put a plane model together. problem lies when…

Dear GuysAfter reading Dai Griffiths gaugeminibook lastest release. I started to make a multigauge with numerous subgauges (main panel, overhead, etc) , everything seems to work ok. But the problem is adding sound and the samples proposed by Dai in his tutorial doesn't work in my project both FS9 and FSX. I hope some of you could advise me about code could be used to add sound to my gauge.THXMartin

Head scratcher ... Would anyone know or have an idea How it could be possible to have a Child rotation ? To elaborate, think of a Ferris wheel .... It rotates around its centre, No problem,However the "cars" on the Ferris wheel are attached to their own pivots around the circumference of the wheel .. These "Cars" then rotate to stay level with the ground as they are carried around on the wheel. In FSX GAUGE Terms, we are trying to achieve a Digital HSI, where the N S E W and Numerals, stay Upright as they rotate around the edge of the Compass Card.. Told you it was a Head Scratcher :) Anyone ?

Hey guys, I know this is a big favour, but I was wondering if someone out there could make a zlin 242 for fsx for me. I've looked and looked, but all I could find was the zlin for FS2002. I am at Sault College and we use zlin242's as our plane. So it would be great help if someone out there could help out. All of our classmates would download it, and everyone at sault college would as well. I know it is difficult, but if someone is up to it, that would be great! Just let me know :) If there would be anything I could do to help, like taking pictures, or information regarding the zlin, I could do that.
