How do you get the aircraft's engine fan blades to animate accelerated spinning on start up in FSX?Is it dependent on the model or textures - can it be configured?

I think I might have posted this question before but never received and answer. I would very much lfike to use Overland's Boeing A/C in FSX and have installed according to last procedures provided from Simmer's Sky (FSX compatible procedure). I have always had a problem with the 747 panel affecting textures at most airports (Terminals and buildings disappear). I have heard of others using these A/C without any problems. Is there some utility that can convert the bitmaps or bmp or whatever into some configuration that would make them acceptable in FSX?Thanks

Hi guys, it's my first time to post here. Forgive me if i'm asking questions that have been asked before. Thanks to the avsim community, i've been flying with many fantastic freeware add-ons. But i've found that in general, the fuel flow always decreases with higher altitude, which is contradictory to real world datas. After passing optimum level, the fuel flow should increase.I looked into the air file but it seems too many parameters are linked to such a behaviour. Are there any guidelines or tips on modifying? Thank you very much.

I'm trying to substitute the backup altimeter from the default A321 into the Overland A320. The A321 gauge cab has a file called "altimeter_backup_background.bmp". I'm assuming this controls the background color. After extracting it from the cab using IZarc, I converted it in DXTBmp and changed the background color from black to airbus blue/gray. Once I convert back to 256 color, is there a way to reinsert it into the cab file and overwrite the original? I've tried without success. Thanks for any help.

Below is some code for the sound of aircon. The switch positions are down(off) and up(on)When I click to turn the switch on(up) there is no aircon sound. When I subsequently click the switch off(down)the aircon sound is initiated until I then click the switch on(up). Consequently the switchis operating in reverse order.Could someonw have a look at the code and suggest a correction. Many thanks.vololiberista <Gauge Name="Aircon switch" Version="1.0"> <Element> <Select> <Value>(G:Var1)</Value> <Case Value="0"> <Image Name="OH_SWITCH_2_OFF.bmp" ImageSizes="33,58"/> </Case> <Ca…

  8. Hello, reader- I know there's at least one older version of the Beech Starship made for an older version of MSFS. The one I found hasn't even got a VC, something I expect of anything I'll install and use.I'm hoping that someone's making one of these. I've flown one years ago, and I still think it's absolutely the prettiest damn thing in the air. The sound of it's nice on the earbones too. Not flying these days anymore, except virtually, and I've been watching for a long time now for a Starship for FSX Acceleration to be offered by someone. I'd pay very well for it too.If someone's making one, I'll gratefully do some serious beta-testing too. Starship, anyone? How 'bo…

We were wondering if anyone would be interested in making this incredibly maneuverable sport plane. To go to the website click here. What's the best way to get the name of a selected com frequency? Like for instance the active com frequency or the stan by com frequency? Is there a way to do this? Such as the NAV1 IDENT variable? I would want it to give me the type and the name as in 118.100 being PHNL TWR if you're in the vacinity.

Has anyone managed to get the example Cabin Comfort gauge to run in FSX.When I complile it and install it according to the instructions - taking a few liberties since a number of the files which are supposed to be there are missing, I can manage to get the XML gauge to display but not to operate as it appears not to be loading the C++ gauge.I changed the manual load line in the dll.xml file to true so that I should be prompted to load the gauge when the aircraft loads but I do not get any prompt. One possible source of my problem - I am unable to locate the simconnect.dll file anywhere in my system. Maybe it didn't make it down this far.Any help which anyone can offer wou…

This is a combination of posts I made at flightsim.com and thought I'd enhance my chances of a reply here. Most of my FS9 to FSX ports have been very successful. The Alpha channel trick has worked for every one that has a texture for the glass, and/or prop disks depending on the problem.I haven't made any attempts at designing models since FS98 so I didn't know what FS9 and FSX use for window transparency other than textures. I have an FS9 plane that has the "Glass Opaque Reflection" problem in the VC. It doesn't have a texture, that I can reset the alpha on, to make it work in FSX(I tried em all).A little background for my questions: I had taken some old FS98 Static aircr…

I am trying to make a new Mode Control Panel from an existing one. I'm using a payware aircraft with a custom panel I did sometime ago, but I never built the MCP because it seemed more involved than just selecting a gauge and dropping it in place. The gauge is also hard to get at, and I assume I need to open it up to get at the individual bmps to build a new one. I am also very new to XML. I hope someone can assist me with this task. I may be in over my head, but I guess even the best had to start somewhere.Your patience is requiredRegards

Hello,I am interested in making some planes for FSX. I have Gmax and the FSX Gmax Gamepack installed, but I can't find a way to save it so it opens with the FSX gamepack. If I save a project to work on it later, it saves as a Gmax scene and therefore I cannot export the file to .MDL. It keeps the "FStools" menu but I can't export to .MDL. The only way that I can export to a MDL file is if I never save the file and re-open it.Thank-you,Kevin.

Hi all,I've been working on adding a few things to the default 737-800 and I'm having trouble getting macros to work. I'm trying to add V speeds to the pfd and have a couple of macros do some calculations to get the speeds based on the aircraft's weight. If I get these working, then I'll add some other calculations to it too. Here's what I have: <Macro Name="baseweight">82000</Macro> <Macro Name="basev1">102</Macro> <Macro Name="incrvr">(A:TOTAL WEIGHT, pounds) @baseweight - 8 / 5 * (>@g:gincrv1)</Macro> <Update> @basev1 (@g:gincrv1) + (>L:newv1,enum) </Update> <Element> <Position X="10" Y="10"/> …

Does anyone know if Table 1101 is still needed for FSX/ESP aircraft add-ons?I ask because, it isn't used in any of the sample ASM files given in the ESP SDK, although it still appears in the list of tokens in the file airfiletokens.h. (This file lists the descriptive names (tokens) for the tables together with their numbers.) The names of many other tables in that file are prefixed by either UNUSED_ or OBSOLETE_. but not Table 1101 which is named AIR_VARIABLES. Also sample airfiles have the comment ;**** END OF REQUIRED AERODYNAMICS ***** so it seems Table 1101 may not be requiredAirEd and AircraftAirfileManager show CD0 together with the other basic drag coefficient…

Hi!At this Video you hear the G-Meter warning Sound between 2:55 - 3:40 min. I know there is a Gauge in the Soko Galeb Aircraft, written in C++ that does almost the same, but just with a breathe-sound of the Pilot. The more G's you pull, the faster the Pilots start to breathe. Is it possible, doing it in xml, or do I have to hope, that someone can do it in C++ for me?Thanks for any helpBeat

I have attempted to enable ADF #1 Ident sound in an otherwise working ADF radio gauge through use of a key event: <Area Left="0" Top="0" Height="100" Width="100"> <Cursor Type="Hand"/> <Click Event="RADIO_ADF_IDENT_ENABLE"/></Area> which, when clicked, results in (A:ADF SOUND, bool) equal to 1, but for only one cycle. After the one cycle, it reverts to 0 where it started, and no ident sound is heard even though the ADF frequency is tuned to an NDB located adjacent to the airport.Any ideas how to enable ADF ident and ident sound? Or, am I just misunderstanding how ADF sound works?Thank you.
