  1. I did see this somewhere but I can't turn it up on this forum, nor on flightsim.com. What's the difference (if any) between the KEY_AP_PANEL_ and the KEY_AP_ commands e.g. KEY_AP_PANEL_ALTITUDE_ON and KEY_AP_ALT_HOLD_ON?-Dai

Fellow aviators,Given an airplane that shows its center of gravity indicator outside of its weight and balance envelope, is there a way to adjust either the .air file or the configuration file to make the center of gravity be within the W&B envelope? The airplane is the POSKY CRJ7. Great looking airplane, but its center of gravity indicator is on the nose, outside of the W&B envelope. Yes, I've posted in the POSKY forum, and they promptly replied that that the indicator "is messed up. If you have full passengers and a decent amount of cargo, your actual cog is fine, even though graphically it shows it off."Since I don't necessarily want to have full aircraft all th…

I tried the guide at http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=249414 to merge CLS's A330-200 GE model into Wilco's equivalent in FSX, but the textures do not show :( Has anyone tried this merge in FSX, and found some missing steps?

Has anyone been successful in correcting any of the default FSX gauge problems? One in particular that is very annoying is the MFD in the 777 vc. I shows up as a black screen and without the knobs. I've searched the forum and come up empty. I did find where this general question was asked on about page 90 or so but there was no response.Might this have something to do with the pixel size of the gauge not being properly sized for the mapped area it is to occupy in the vc? If so, would resizing it a few pixels at a time be the approach to correcting the problem.I don't understand why a gauge will display perfectly fine in the 2D cockpit and doesn't display at all in the VC…

Hi,Can anybody help us to create a spinning propeller as a gauge in 2D mainpanel. We are modifying our sim visual screen with wings + spinner. The wings are already done but we would still want to have have fully working animated propeller. At the moment it seems that we cannot use Virtual Cockpit propeller. In 2D panel the propellerwould have to be creatred as a gauge. Can this propeller data info be brought somehow to the special gauge?Any help is highly appreciated:http://www.lentosimulaattori.1g.fi/kuvat/n...iivet2d+004.jpghttp://www.lentosimulaattori.1g.fi/kuvat/n...iivet2d+003.jpghttp://www.lentosimulaattori.1g.fi/kuvat/n...iivet2d+008.avi

I have not had any luck with the Overland B747 Panel in FSX. I have already done the obvious by the update that was available to make it work with FSX however it does not work for me. I want to know if it is possible to use the default FSX B747 panels, both 2d & 3d, for the Overland B747. I believe I can do this for the 2d portion but the 3d panel is inop. Hi allI'm new at this gauge creating thing and I stumble across a problem while creating my first gauge. The gauge I'm creating is an analogue IASI with s display in the middle showing the mach number and the IAS. The mach number always shows .20 if you are below that mach number. The IAS starts counting from 60. But the strings don't show up ...Would appreciate it if anybody could help me out cause I'm stuck and my C ain't that good yet :(I've also searched on the net for some good documentation about the C language used by the gauges but haven't really found yet, so any advise on those is welcome too :).h file // DC-8 Project Super 60 gauges// Copyright (c) 2010 DC-8 Pr…

i am wanting to find lat/lon for a position under a cursor on a map...say a version of the gps map (for 1).if i recall my trig tan (X cursor offset from center)/(Y position) gives me the angle deviation from my own heading. how do i plug that into geocalc to get the lat/lon ?looks like i have geocalclength & geocalcazmuth1 to work with, i can compute the hypotinus as range/length? and i hope it is azmuth as in bearing and not declination...can some one who better knows help or point me in the right direction?geocalcbearing and geocalcdistance do not have check marks in the set column meaning i can retrive that data but cannot use it to compute other data with geocal…

Hi all, I'm in the process of making a fs9gps based RADAR/Map gauge. I finally got it to display ok and my L:vars all work right. While test flying, my range rings were glitchy. After dinking around I noticed that they only glitched/moved during heading changes. I set the bird in a constant 2 min turn an watched. The range rings at 0deg heading are perfect, they shrink to near nothing at 90deg, expand back to almost normal at 180deg, and shrink again at 270deg. :( I changed the Heading value in the gauge to "0" and the rings remain constant but, I want my display to be aircraft oriented. I can't find any goofy code in it that includes both Hdg and Range/Zoom variables. Th…

I am working on improving my fs9 Toolbox and I added a new feature into it. I tested it on my "work" version of fs9 and it was working perfect. Then I transfered it on my "full" fs9 installation, which has many other add-ons installed, and it crashed fs9 right after the splash screen appeared.Surprised, I searched and searched again into my new code. It is quite simple, just accessing DirectInput to read the joystick status, nothing supposed to crash FS... So I removed all the other add-on modules, and it worked. It appeared it was a conflict with IBD3D9GE.dll, a module from IBNET.I sometimes use INBET to fly in network so I tried to solve this conflict. I realized that w…

I've been working on a RADAR/Map display. Can I infer from other threads that this: <CustomDrawParam id="LayerVORs" Name="LayerVORs"><Value>(L:LayerVORs) 0 > </Value></CustomDrawParam> Is the same as this: <LayerVORs>(L:LayerVORs) 0 > </LayerVORs> I haven't been able to even display the RADAR yet and the sheer number of all these flags makes it confusing to find errant code. I'm using (P:Local time, seconds) 1 % 0.33 / 1 % near for the intermittence. Do you know how to make each element blink at its own time not synchronouslly?Javier

Hi Everyone,Some time ago I saw pictures of the Carenado C182q with the RXP 530 installed in the virtual panel.I now have the RXP 530 an would like to install it in the VC. I have know this can be done by manipulating the pan config parameters, but have no idea where to start. If there is anyone here who has done this, can you share the configuration? or at least advice me where to start. I know that Panel studio, can probably help to achieve my goal but I understand that Panel studio is limited in how much it can do with VC panels and I do not want to spend money on software that I will probably use only once. Thanks in advance.

What is the proper way to use the Attachpoint Tool (Gmax) when applying visibility to a group ? Do I have to dissasemble the group and attach to each part ? With Animation Manager, working with groups is no issue. Is there an easy way to remove an attachment of visibilty to a whole group, as right clicking properties doesn't work with groups ?

Hi, i've been tweaking the default Grumman Goose in FSX, correcting the fuel tank to 2 x 110 gallon tanks instead of the 170 it came with. I've sorted the ammount of fuel it should have out in the .cfg, now i'm trying to get the fuel gauge to read correctly. I assumed that it would be a case of editing the Fuel.xml in the goose cab file (in pannels folder), switching <GaugeString>%((A:FUEL TANK LEFT MAIN LEVEL, percent) 1.7 * )%!d!</GaugeString> to<GaugeString>%((A:FUEL TANK LEFT MAIN LEVEL, percent) 1.1 * )%!d!</GaugeString> for both tanks, and remaking the cab file. But now when i load up the plane, i'm missing the overhead pannel, although the …

This is probably the weirdest problem I have ever had.I am trying to make an aircraft. The problem is that any effects I add to it disappear from the VC view when I am more than 60ft AGL (about 900ft Above sea level). Here are the facts:The effects are light effects and are added in the LIGHTS section of the aircraft.cfg.The effects are 100% ok as they work on other aircraft (some are even default effects so there is definitely not a problem with the effects). The effects work 100% ok in the external model regardless of altitude. The internal model is a duplicate of the external model. The effects work perfectly when on the ground, it is only when you are about 60ft AGL that t…
