I would like to add the default a321 and 738 VC to freeware a319/320s and 737s/739s. There is something I want to clear up a bit before trying it out. the a321 fuselage is longest hence its vc is located quite forward in position than others of its family. so on adding the default a321 vc say to much shorter a319 will the VC model automaticaly place itself to correct Vc location or will it remain at its original position? I have found one can adjust VC viewpoint locations for different aircrafts but is it possible to change the cocpit model position in similar manner?I am asking because if I have to taxi and adjust to pitch movements of cockpit in a319 to that of a321 and…

I've been trying to do a real easy XML gauge that would read "Low Fuel Right", and everything that I've done so far doesn't seem to be working. I've even looked at other XML gauges to try to get an idea of what it should look like, and again it's not working. Is there anybody willing to post what it's supposed to look like, so I (or anybody else in the future) can copy/paste into notepad. I know I'm asking a lot, but really could use the help. Very Respectfully J.R. Duda

I'm working on merging the PSS panel and FDE with the Overland model for the A321- I've gotten the contact points to line up so all the wheels are firmly on the ground. The only problem I'm having is that when I apply the brakes, the nose gear really compresses and the nose lurches downward. Once I've gotten the contact points to correspond with the wheels, how do I go about toning down the compressibility of the nose gear? The static compression is set to 0.5, and I get this problem even with adjusting the compression ratio to 1.01. As far as I can tell, with that compression ration, the nose gear should have barely any compression at all, yet when I apply the bakes the …

I'm making my first aircraft model using gmax, and have a problem with holes left when doing boolean operations to cut out shapes such as flaps. Sometimes using the cap holes modifier works, other times it distorts the part. What I think that I want to do, is to manually patch the hole by selecting 3 vertices on the part where the hole is, and then create a triangle from these points & repeat until the hole is patched. But I can't see a way of doing this. For what its worth I can create a free standing polygon using the line tool, but then I have the problem of attaching that to my part (I can do this by using the attach control, but this leaves a gap between the part…

I am trying to go through Microsoft's tutorial 'creating xml gauges'At Step 3 it says to create the background bitmap using paint, and call it Test_Panel_Background.bmp,and reference it inpanel.cfg like this:[Window06]file=Test_Panel_Background.bmpMy question is simple: how does FSX know what directory to look in for this file?I ask because I define a square bitmap of a certain colour, but when I activate the Test Panel, the colour is black.

My maths and I have parted comapny again.... I'm trying to decide whether I need to initiate a turn to the left or to the right, depending on the current and target headings. I thought this worked, but it doesn't and after an hour or so of trying, I can no longer see the wood for the trees. Would someone be kind enough to cast an eye over it and tell me what's worong?Thank you.-Dai int getDirection(int hdg, int target){ int direction=0; hdg=hdg+180; if(hdg>360)hdg-=360; if(target<hdg)direction=2; //turn right else direction=1; //turn left return direction;}

Hi guys, I have been working on a project improving the panel of one of my planes, I learned a bit about XML and few other things, the tools I've been using are nothing fancy, just Photo paint Pro, Photoshop and notepad. I also created an XML gauge for an animated 2D yoke that is working fine, but I want to know how to create a gauge to hear a sound everytime I extend or retract the Flaps, my idea is to record my own voice for the flaps callouts. Can anyone help me to achieve this??? I really appreciate any help.Tony

I am using Andy Karlstetter's B737 panel in the POSKY 737-600. (The POSKY-designed panels for this plane are nla from POSKY). I am running FS9 in XP. The panel works quite well except for problems with the VSI control and, less importantly, the A/T indicator.Problem is that the VSI can't be activated unless the ALT HOLD is also activated, the opposite of what should happen. When the VSI is active, its LED (if it has one) stays off. Once the set altitude is reached the VSI re-sets itself to 000, and the ALT HOLD LED switches off.The A/T works quite well - less accurately and slower than PMDG but the LED, if there is one, does not illuminate. I am not sure if there is an L…

The CaptainSim 707 (FS9) fuel flow gauges do not reflect the actual fuel being used. Running a test of total cruise fuel flow at mach .80 at FL340 results in an actual usage of 3,200 lbs/hr. for each engine, 12,800 lbs./hr. total. This agrees with most of the historical documentation I can find for the 320 Advanced model P&W engines. However, the fuel flow gauges are showing a combined flow of between 9,900 ~ 9,500 lbs./hr...well short of what is actually coming out of the tanks. How does one go about fixing this?Vic

Maybe Alex or some other kind person will advise on this. I have set up my system with triple views using Alex Reid's methods. http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtop...=multi+monitorsThis works well in IFR but in VFR I cannot make the forward left and forward right views deep enough to see the runway on downwind and base legs. I have experimented endlessly with the x, y, z values in the panel.cfg and with zoom values but seem stuck with quite a narrow horizontal view to port and starboard. I am using the Australian Simulation payware PA28 Warrior which has two main cockpit panels - IFR and VFR versions selectable by a hotspot on the glareshield. It is impossible to…

I have created a Custom Draw window for my Freeware F-111 Pig HUD Project ,(current version fxpiggb5.zip) .This instruments primary function is to emulate the Pave Tack ,other functions are reconnaisance ,BDA and BVR intercept recognition It can also be fitted and used on Harriers and F-35Bs for hover approach and landings .This instrument will be uploaded to 3 freeware sites within the next week or two,as an integrated part of the F-111 Pig HUD Project , and as a stand alone instrument for those wishing to fit to other aircraft .My problem is with the Heading panning function , the standard case typemacro allows up to 24 settings ,1. Its not enough , if you div…

Hello everybody Well i owned this forum because i have been dealing with a problem for a while in which the highest the altitud on any of my FSX airplanes the narrowest the speed limit i have. I had even changed the information on the airplanes.cfg documents so that the cruise speed and the limit speed is over 500knts in all of them and i can reach those speeds at low altitud but as the altitud is increased the power of the engines is lower.For example:Flying a 747-400 with max charge and 100,000 pounds of gas i can rech 505 as maximum cruise speed below let's say FL240 but as i start increasing the altitud reechoing the FL340 the power of the engines even with 99.9 on th…

Hi,I've just wondered, how to discover the best coordinates, to place the reality xp wx 500 on the pedestal in the virtual cockpit (additional window in 2d not needed) ?? I'm using Andre Folkers Vc texture mod, and there's actually a fake radar on the pedestal and i was thinking of placing a wx500 unit there. If someone could help with that, i would be very, very grateful!RegardsTomek

I'm porting Bill Lyon's Stinson Reliant over to FSX for a friend's personal use, and I've got most of the panel gauges showing, except for two.The two that aren't working are the VSI, and ASI.The needles will show, and they function, but the faces don't appear. No matter what gauges I place in these two spots, it's always the same result.Any ideas?Most of the original FS9 and earlier style gauges have been replaced with FSX default gauges from the Beaver, DC-3, Cub, and C208,so that almost every gauge in this airplane is now an FSX default gauge except for the ones in the custom.cab I've tried putting fuel gauges, altimeters, ammeters, you name it, in those two spots,but …

I decided to post this forum as this is a cross-platforum product and it's more likely to reach gauge pros here.I have tried, using the included install tool, to install the gauges in panels of two payware aircraft, the Carenado PA28 and Dreamfleet A36. They do work fine with the exception of a total lack of an MAP (manifold pressure) gauge, both on the PFD and MFD screens. The plane is obviously unflyable without this vital instrument. I have tried to mess with all the settings, but I just can't seem to get it visible.I know it is available in package itself as I've seen it in screenshots. Apparently it should be automatically visible, if the host plane is equipped with …

Is there any way to decode C+ gauges? If not is there a way to remove certain gauges from a C+ multi gauge? I have a gauge that I believe has certain included gauges that are not FSX compatible. I'd like to strip these out, if possible. FSPanelStudio allows reading the gauge and showing each of the included gauges. Thanks, regards, Bob.

I have an odd thing. I have now tried my model on a Windows 7 system with Nvidia video card, where previously I had the model on a Windows XP system with Radeon video card.On the XP:All day and night images of gauges look correct for my model and default models.On the Win 7:All day and night images look correct for all default models.Day gauges look correct for my model.Night gauges have the correct gauges and background, but there is an additonal overlay of the FSX splash screen on each panel.Any idea what is wrong here ?XP version - all fine (I know it needs some work to look professionally lit)...Win 7 - notice the gauges and background are there, but each panel also h…
