Hello All Just a quick question; is it possible (through the aircraft.cfg file ?) to reduce the severity of the nose dip when applying the brakes ? I'm currently flying the Airbus X and it has a tendensity for the nose to severely dip when either applying the brakes whilst taxiing or when the auto-brakes kick in during landing. I don't think this is a probem with the Airbus X per se, but rather a setting that could be tweaked - I hope... Any help much appreciated Gary

Hi, I would really love to try navigating an old school plane, like the CS 727 for FSX. But before I buy It I would like to now one thing which I haven't been able to find ther answer to: if I navigate using the INS, I would have to enter the coordinates of each individual waypoint, I know, and that's fine with me. But how do I find the coordinates of the waypoints? Is there a third party utility out there that can help me? Thanks, Wiebe

Hi everyone , I recently built a new pc for fsx , i7 3770 ivy bridge professionally overclocked from 3.6 to 4.5 ghz , 16 gig of 1866 ram , 240 gig ssd , 600 gig vrap drive for fsx & all scenery packages. I also got my gpu changed under warranty as it was starting to fail , I had a powercolor hd 5870 , I got a msi 6970 twin frozr as a replacement , even with all this hardware my photo scenery is still going blurry , not all the time but not as good as what I have had it in the past on my amd quad core 955 be @ 3.8 ghz & the 5870 card, all traffic tabs be it airport , boats , ai aircraft are all down set low ,I tried bojotes tweak tool & it adds a real bad shi…

Currently flying this little beast from EGLC to EKBI. I have a bit of an issue where its very very very unstable, the bird keeps banking left and right almost 90 degrees each way. Has anyone had this problem before or know how to resolve it? Thanks Jack

How about some advice on add-on traffic programs. Back before my computer crash, I had quite a bit of AI along with routes and timetables that I wrote, but I don't want to go through all that with the new system. I'm thinking of just purchasing a canned package and letting it do the dirty work for me. I've looked at several and not being familiar with them, I'm just looking to see what the general consensus is as far as they go. MyTraffic has several different flavors and I'm a bit confused as to which one is best. Just recently, I'd say within the last couple weeks, I've noticed that a once smooth running FSX is suffering from bouts of extremely low frame rates. I first noticed it last week when taxiing through a stock airport ... an agonizing task achieving less than 5 fps. I chalked it up to a fluke and assured myself things would improve next time around. Last evening I flew, in the darkness of night, with minor cloud cover below me, only the cockpit of my FeelThere Embraer 175 illuminated. Averaged 12-15 fps, but had many lengthy periods of less than 3, sometimes 1 fps. Other times I would max at around 33-35. I've been problem free running much more respectable frames, mind yo…

I've been experiencing since I installed FSX\Gold in this computer,slow Loading times when the little box,should beggin to load with the bar... " Loading Scenery" The bar doesn't run for a while...Like 10-15 seconds,then the "Click sound sounds and the bar beggins to run; As if something was preventing it to run, I normally wait til the plane has turned,past three quarters ( Of a clock) to press the Fly Now buttom...Then I hear the click and the bar beggins to run inmediately. Now I can let it pass past the 3 quaters, it won't sound the click...And it takes these 35 seconds, All loads normally after this. MY MSE doesn't report anything? Berlopez

Had anyone used the Opus weather engine yet? Any feedback? How does it compare to AS2012? The write up on it makes it seem much better. I am surprised because I came here thinking this would have been much discussed about topic sure to the supposed all new way to import weather into FSX but am thinking there is not much intrest in it??

So I downloaded the new beta -- it works! Great -- but I have a couple new problems I tried to setup a new camera with the 737-NGX Couple things amiss -- 1. Can't edit the camera name 2. Camera can't save and deletes all the settings I choose after I click on save camera 3. No dynamic head movement -- probably because the camera isn't setup properly. 4. When I try and move the camera around I get flickering and it doesn't stop moving until I press the stop sign -- is this how its suppose to be? I would appreciate any help, thanks.

Hi All, Couple of question below about FPS and Performance for FSX. 1) Where will I get higher FPS - Windowed mode or FullScreen? 2) Does flying in a VC hurt my FPS? Thanks!

FSX had developed micro stutters and it took me a while to sort out the cause. Maybe this will help someone. I started out by dropping my internal FPS limiter to just below my average FPS. In my case, this was 24. At this point I noticed micro stutters, but the not so micro stutters were gone. The next step was to unpark my cpu's. Do a search on it. Took 5 minutes to edit the registry to make sure all your cores are working. This made things slightly better, but still not butter smooth. The last thing I did was start playing around with the cfg tweak used to allocate processor time between scenery and everything else. Not on my gaming pc, but i think it was FIBER FRAM…

Having just had a birthday (61 years young), I was given a new iPad (replaces an earlier version) and a gift card for apps t the AppStore. I've already downloaded some pilot apps from Sportys.com, and FSX Kneeboard 2. Can anyone suggest any other apps for FSX that they have and which add to the already incredible FSX experience? ImagineSim is doing a NEW version of KATL! Looks really really good too. I hope they make it so we can use the NGX HUD and still see the runway/taxiway lights through it!

Will FSX Acceleration run well in 64 bit? Better than 32bit? If it will, then can I leave it installed in 32 bit while I try it out in 64 bit.. Thanks, Ralph

...What happened to Level D Sim? After the 767-300, have they done any other product? That is/was one fine product which I enjoyed at the time; but, obviously the graphics are long past..even the "new brushed painted" ones. I wonder if they will venture into developing another fine a/c with todays standards. :Praying:

Here's the situation. 1) I create a flight plan to go from the Dallas-Ft Worth airport to the Denver International Airport for FL350 with IFR. 2) I use the VORs that are used in FS98 instead of having them auto-assigned by FSX. 3) I use the headings listed in the flight plan and tune the radios to the correct VOR frequencies, navigating by what the results are. 4) The headings listed in the flight plans take me almost 10 degrees off course (according to the GPS) to the left or right seemingly in random order.. 5) ATC does not like what I'm doing and they take me off of my intended course. It seems not everyone knows you can easily edit the Weather themes that come with FSX or that are added by for instance Orbx. (BTW This is a repost from a reply on the AVSIM Screen shots forum.) Let me start by saying you won't be able to save the changes as a new theme: the changes only stick as long as you have FSX running OR when you save the actual flight: the weather will be saved with it. Here is how to do it: on the Main screen click on Change (Current weather). Select the Weather theme you want to edit at the top. Now here comes the trick: click on OK (to load the weather) and when you are on the Main screen again, click on Change (Current weather) once mo…

I just purchased Megascenery North & Central Arizona. The purchase link sent me to a page from where to download 32 zip files. That's ok. But what is not funny is that each of the install files have to be run separately. And as I wanted it to install on E:\MegasceneryEarth instead of the default C:\MegasceneryEarth, plus having to enter the FSX location for each of the 32 exe files, you can imagine my frustration ;-) Ok, there are more tedious things in life than that, but I wonder if maybe I might have missed something that would make the installation process more userfriendly. I am looking for fellow simmers that have found a way to get around this problem …

So I'm having very strange issues. My FSX runs great with water effects tturned off. Constant 30 fps even around lots of AI at major airports (addon) and in clouds. However, when I turn water effects on to any degree, the frames plummet to about 5-10. Even if I'm not over much or any water. Running i5 2500k, 8gb ram, GTX 670. PC Aviator has both the North and Central packages for 50% off, plus the 10% for the labor day special. I recently purchased Flight Beam's KPHX so I'll be flying in the area a bit more. I don't fly VFR, mainly over FL200. Is there any reason I SHOULDN'T purchase it for this price? Also thinking of getting the southern part but that is full price and I'm afraid of it becoming a deal of the day soon after I purchase it... And yes I have the freeware Grand Canyon KGCN scenery as well.

OK, I'm sure this is a question I should know the answer to, but to be honest, there are quite a few questions that I should know the answer to but don't! So, when I'm creating a flightplan, how do I calculate the best, or optimum, altitude to fly. Help as always appreciated, cheers fellas.

Recently built a new computer and since I'd installed FSX, I continue to have an odd problem. I have FSX installed directly to my D:\ drive. I've verified I have write permissions on the folder and run the program in admin mode. FSX does not want to save the "Crash Detection" setting in realism. I've even gone so far as to editing the fsx.cfg file to turn on crash detection. (Saved but every time I load FSX it changes back) Every time I crash I get a "Crash Detected, awaiting respawn" notification in the upper left corner of my screen in a green window. Addons I'm using other than FSX are FSUIPC (Registered), UT2, AS2012, REX-E, Accu-feel, TrackIR5 and EZDOK. …

Recently, I have noticed an unusual problem. Basically, I will start FSX, load my plane at the required airport, taxi out to the runway, take off......and then suddenly the framerate will drop to a slideshow. When I pan the VC view, it does so in horrible "jerks". However, after exiting FSX, rebooting it, and loading up exactly the same start parameters a second time, I can take off without any problems. The framerate this time is nice and smooth. What on Earth is happening here? Why would it "chug for Britain" the first time, and then be nice and smooth after that? I really don't get it :huh:
